Good Ends

Morning Rescue End

A Deus Ex Machina solves everything, producing a happy ending out of nowhere.

Witch-free End

Walpurgis is destroyed, everyone lives, the witches are defeated, and Kyuubey is driven off of Earth. Madoka forced to kill Homura to ensuring she can never become a witch or reset this successful timeline.

Gen Told You He Wasn't Evil End

Kyuubey saves the universe. He solves the entropy problem, cleans up the witches, and creates a pocket-dimension cake planet to reward everyone who became a magical girl or witch.

I Really Think It Was Worth It To Become A Magical Girl End

Madoka recreates the ending of the original timeline, and Homura accepts it.

It Can't Be Helped End

Homura runs away from Walpurgis. She kidnaps Madoka and confines her in a safe place until the event is over. Homura warns the normal humans to evacuate the city, and uses her time stop powers to deliver a credible threat to the military.

Akemi Homura: Total Badass End

Homura defeats Walpugis and lives happily with Madoka.

Friendship Is Magic End

In the next reset, everyone works together to save the world and achieve a happy ending.

Both Miracles And Magic Exist End

Madoka uses her wish to solve all her problems and break the system. Alternatively, she gains the ability to use magic without a contract and defeats Walpurgis safely.

Doctor Who's Companion End

Homura travels back in time again, except Madoka touches her while this happens, and is transported along with Homura. They resolve to fix everything in the new timeline.

Instrumentality End

Homura fights Walpurgis, and Madoka makes her Wish. She defeats the Walpurgis and gives a heart to heart with Homura before finally turning into a witch. Their talk has taken the wind out of Homura's sails. She can't go on any more. She gives into the barrier. Homura wakes up like before. But she has no soulgem. Instead of strangers, everyone in school knows and recognizes her and she's included in Madoka's circle of close friends. Ending montage of this happy new life, free of witches and magical girls.

• Alternatively, being a witch is suffering. While Madoka creates a perfect world in her barrier, everyone is happy, except for Madoka. She will take on the despair of the entire world

Morning Rescue End, Figuratively

As dawn approaches Walpurgis night, a crack task force of magical girls arrives to rescue Homura and Madoka from certain doom.

Monsters, Inc. End

Madoka finds an alternative, less cruel, and more efficient way to reduce entropy. Kyuubey stops contracting magical girls, and the universe is saved.

Bittersweet Ends

Both Miracles And Magic Existed End

Madoka's wish allows her to break free of the contract and restore everyone's humanity. Homura dies of heart failure, Mami died in the accident, Sayaka loses Kyousuke to Hitomi and dies of a drug overdose, Kyouko's dad goes broke and still kills his family in a drunken rage, and Madoka is remembered as the worst monster ever to exist when all intelligent species perish in the heat death of the universe.

• A possible variation: Madoka's wish makes every Puella Magi dead instantly, as their Soul Gems cease to exist and bodies have no souls to control them.
• Another variation found on 4chan: Madoka wishes QB's race had never found Earth. Everything starts again as if QB's race had never found Earth, HOWEVER:
  • Mami dies in the car accident.
  • Kyoko's family gets bankrupt and her father sells Kyoko and her sister to pedophiles in order to pay the rent.
  • Sayaka remains forever alone while waiting for a depressive, self-hating Kamijou to get over not ever playing violin again.
  • Hitomi finds another cute rich boy and marries him.
  • Madoka grows up and is able to drink alcohol with her mother.

Jesus End

Madoka comes to the conclusion that all of the problems are her responsibility and kills herself, freeing Homura from her time-travelling do-overs. She uses her wish to ruin Kyuubey's plans and permanently free Earth from the threat of witches.

No, Everything ls For Her End

Homura sacrifices herself to defeat Walpurgis and allow Madoka to live on.

Witch Team End

Madoka and Homura become witches together. They set out to eliminate all suffering in the universe through destruction, and spend eternity united in bittersweet damnation.

Oh Boy Here We Go Again End

Madoka wishes to go back in time to become someone who protects Homura, sending the universe into an infinite recursion of infinite recursions of time.

Witch End

Madoka becomes a witch and kills everyone. The entire universe is consumed by her barrier. She fills her barrier with an idealized dream world.

The Birth of a Sadist

Soul Gem corruption is caused by despair. Conversely, a mahou shoujo that feels no pain will not become a witch. After Homura sacrifices herself in an attempt to defeat Walpurgisnacht, Madoka realizes that she would take an honest delight in inflicting pain upon Kyuubey. So thinking, her wish is, "I wish to transfer my negative emotions to you, such that your race will forever be burdened by the pain you inflict on me." An invincible Mahou Shoujo is born.

• Soul Gem corruption is also caused merely by the usage of magic, so Madoka would still become a witch eventually...assuming that she did use her powers, and didn't just live out her days watching Kyubey flinch every time she stubbed her toe.

Bad Ends

Second 4chan chart of endings.

Fine Print End

When Homura dies, her magic disappears, so everything reverts to how it was in Timeline 1 before she made her wish, except Homura is still dead.

Euphemia End

Madoka blames Homura for the deaths of Sayaka and Kyouko. Berating her for failing to care about people who needed her, Madoka tells Homura to go away. Homura obeys by killing herself on the spot, and Walpurgis ravages the city unopposed.

Nice Boat End

Witches are symbols for nuclear waste. The offal from Kyuubey's power plant makes Earth uninhabitable for centuries. The episode revealing this is censored and replaced by footage of a boat.

Beating QB At His Own Game End

Homura is the true villain. Madoka died before the events of the show and everything is an illusion created by Homura to fool Kyuubey. She's from another dimension, and her goal is to siphon powers from the girls to overcome entropy in her dimension at the cost of destroying ours.

Friendship isn't Magic End

In the next reset, everyone works together to save the world to achieve a happy ending, but they fail and everyone dies anyway. Kyuubey is seen preying on a new pack of innocent girls.

Wishes And Curses Balance Out End

Homura uses all her magic to defeat Walpurgis, and becomes a witch. Her witch form is Walpurgis, and Madoka sacrifices her life to defeat the reborn Walpurgis.

You'II Lose Everything End

Everyone Madoka cares about dies, even Homura, and Kyuubey is driven off, leaving Madoka alone and helpless.

Homerun's Ball ls Out Of The Park End

Homura goes insane. In the next time reset, after politely introducing herself to the class, Homura guns down Madoka and Sayaka. She apologizes and commits suicide.

Everyone Dies End

The climactic battle with Walpurgis leaves everybody dead.

Self-Healing Hypothesis End

When Homura saves Madoka she creates a Temporal Paradox. How can Homura made the wish if Madoka hasn't died? So to heal the Timeline and the wish Madoka must die, her wish just states in this version that her wish is to redo the time at Walpurgis as her wish was in haste. So to solve the problem of a Paradox, Madoka must die in another way thus healing the Timeline.

The Last True End

Homura saves Madoka but was killed when fighting the witch, she died thus leaving Madoka all alone in the world, breaking down and crying QB approaches her with and suggests making a wish to bring everyone back but in what form?

Rage Quit End

Homura saves Madoka. But she can never be happy with the others dead. Homura ragequits and becomes Walpurgis Night, a time-traveling witch that usually comes back to the time and place of Madoka's death to mourn.

Homura's End

The witches are all denied the one thing they want; they're kept in depair, right? Homura failed to save Maddie how many times? The series isn't Madoka's barrier - It's Homura's. She's constantly playing over the same scenario, trying to save a friend who's already died. It will always be a bad end. Always.

It Was All a Dream End

It turns out that Homura is already a witch and all her timeloops were just illusions to her. Some unknown magical girls are shown fighting the witch, and Kyubey is being Kyubey.

Psychological Ends

Open Ended End

Homura makes another time jump, starting over yet again.

This ls Madness End

Madoka was just Homura's imaginary friend. None of the other magical girls were real. Homura is institllticnalized after going on a shooting spree against "witches."

• Alternatively, the whole story took place inside Madoka's (or Homura's) witch barrier, and nothing was real.

Eva End

The last two episodes are a psychological examination of the characters. Madoka questions what her wish is for, makes it offscreen, and is greeted by a Congratulations scene featuring Mami holding her detached head under her arm. An End of Madoka OVA will be released later.

It All Comes Tumbling Down End

The final episodes are pure imagery left open to the viewers' interpretation.

WTF End

Homura dies to defeat Walpurgls and save the world. A week later. the shy, normal human Homura transfers into Madoka's school with no knowledge of prior events.

Troll End

Some random accident or normal criminal with no relation to the storyline shatters Homura's soul gem and kills Madoka.

What Has Science Done End

The ending is a serious contemplation of the heat death of the universe.

Homura goes insane. She kidnaps Madoka and keeps her as a sex slave. This inspires many doujins.
