Everything I can see about regular Madoka seems to unambiguously show it to be a bow, albeit frequently unstrung; and according to EPF, all official materials call it a bow. I did a quick test of importing the meshes you uploaded (character meshes, not labyrinths) into Unreal Engine 5, and the import seemed to be more or less fine (without textures), but I'm not sure how the textures are supposed to combine together into a final material. The set of textures provided doesn't match up to the material formats I'm used to. So if the models don't have UV assigned, then even if you were to figure out how the materials work, assigning them to the mesh would probably look completely broken.

The usual setup would be to have a diffuse or albedo map which contains the colour, a normal map, and either some monochrome maps for roughness, ambient occlusion, and metallic, ''or'' a single ORM map which combines those three. What Exedra has is a colour map which contains the colour, a shadow map which ''also'' contains colour, a control map which ''might'' be an ORM map or similar, and also the eye highlights map. So my point is, I don't know how all those maps are used to produce the final result. If it was like the usual setup, I could easily piece them together into a proper material. Enemies like Soldier, Holy Mami and Bebe dont (and wont) have the Chamber of Light images so they will be stuck without images, and the Elemental Weaknesses also can't be fully correct, as most quests change their elemental weaknesses on harder dificulties, and Rose Garden Witch Part 1 has two different Elemental Weaknesses in its Standard mode. The only real way to combat that, that I can think of, is going into direct detail like the Exedra wiki does, but idk how to do that without just copying them. As someone who likes characters like Yu and Clara Beast (idk where this came from), designing Yu was extremely fun in many ways. The theme of gears was very interesting, and I wanted to make her feel eerie—like something not of this world.

The mechanical motif felt strong, so I wanted to emphasize that further with cyborg-like elements and a prosthetic arm. I also deliberately made her face look different from the front and the side.

The task of translating the [[Witch Runes]] in the [[Madoka Magica]] franchise was a long process. Below is the detailing about the project.

==History==
===Original Witch Runes introduced in [[Puella Magi Madoka Magica]]===
Initial efforts at codebreaking began by identifying each unique Witch Runes and assigning it a random letter for identification. The general (correct) assumption was that each Witch Rune corresponded to a letter in German but at the time it was still possible that the text was encrypted, a newly constructed language or even that they were just scattered completely at random. German was chosen as the most likely candidate because it appeared as direct quotes from Goethe's Faust and the Cottonballs/Pringlemen/Anthony's were observed to be chanting in German. Other candidate languages were: Japanese, English and Latin (due to the use of "Puella" in the title).

A number of codebreaking methods were tried unsuccessfully. For example; attempts at identifying the letters through numerical analysis of their frequency failed, implying that the Witch Rune script was not really a language (see complications below). A more focused approach, taking a single word or short phrase and attempting to match an appropriate German word to it also failed due to large amount of possible matches.

After some urging to use the Faust quotes as a [[wikipedia:Rosetta Stone|Rosetta Stone]], an anonymous found and [https://archived.moe/a/thread/44782290#44786690 posted] a line of Witch Runes which matched one of those quotes. The Witch Runes and the German sign they matched are marked in red on the translation chart for episodes one and two.

This discovery confirmed that the Witch Runes script was a direct substitution for German letters and provided an initial set of translated Witch Runes to work with. /a/ quickly got to work using this starting set to translate more lines and fill in the gaps. Within 21 hours of this discovery, the vast majority of Witch Rune text appearing in the first two episodes had been translated into German and English, all letters had been identified (except Q and X which are extremely rare in German, though they appeared later on).

At the moment, Nightmares exclusively appear in ''Rebellion''.

Two nightmares appear in the movie. The first appears at the very beginning and is initially attacked by [[Madoka Kaname]], [[Sayaka Miki]], and [[Kyoko Sakura]]. The nightmare is driven into a dining room where [[Mami Tomoe]] and [[Bebe]] are waiting. The magical girls then appear to defeat the nightmare by feeding food to it. It's later revealed that [[Homura Akemi]] had assisted the magical girls in secret.

The second nightmare is born from [[Hitomi Shizuki]], when she feels frustration over her relationship with [[Kyosuke Kamijo]]. Hitomi is seemingly swallowed up by her bed as the nightmare appears. The magical girls contain the nightmare and then defeat it by singing the [[Cake Song]]. At the end of the song, the nightmare turns into a cake which Bebe swallows whole. Bebe then spits out a blob resembling Hitomi's head and a paper with a picture of a violin on it. Sayaka catches both things, and then throws the paper into the air. The paper turns into a silhouette of Kyosuke playing the violin. The blob flies up after the silhouette and vanishes into sparkles that purify the magical girls' [[soul gem]]s. Hitomi then reappears in her bedroom.

In the 6th anniversary of Magia Record, they were introduced as enemies to defeat with the introduction of [[Devil Homura in Magia Record| Devil Homura]] as a playable character. Their release marked the first time Latin [[Witch Runes]] were shown in Magia Record mobile game, the first time Kumanoko no Yume's name was spelled in any type of Witch Runes, and the first time their descriptions were shown.

Nightmares got their own dedicated [[Magia Exedra Main Quests|Main Quest]], in which they are enemies.

==Powers and Abilities==
* It is unknown if both Nightmare's share the exact same powers as one another, but both of their powers are themed after stuffed objects. Fitting for their dream themes.
** The first Nightmare, Kuma no Ko no Yume, has the power to shoot incredibly destructive pillows and teddy-bears that have been able to destroy entire buildings. It also has the power to summon dancer figures and uses bubbles to attack.
** The second Nightmare, Yagi no Ko no Yume, has the power to turn any object into a stuffed version of itself, then blow it up with teddy-goats. It also attacks using music instruments, mainly violins.

==Observations==
* The disembodied hands of the nightmares hint at the fact that they're puppets created by a witch. Furthermore, one of the hands has a covering over it's middle finger, which is the same finger a magical girl wears her ring on.
** Note how the dots on the hands resemble the ones that appear on Homura when she starts to discover she might be a witch.
** While these hands are crucial to the Nightmares, they do not appear in [[Magia Record: Puella Magi Madoka Magica Side Story|Magia Record]] .
* A '''mare''' or [[wikipedia:Mare_(folklore)|'''nightmare''']] (Proto-Germanic: ''*marōn''; Old English: ''mære''; Old Norse: ''mara''; German: ''Nachtmahr'') is an evil spirit or goblin in Germanic folklore which rides on people's chests while they sleep, bringing on bad dreams (or "nightmares"). The mare is often similar to the mythical creatures [[wikipedia:Succubus|succubus]] and [[wikipedia:Incubus_(demon)|incubus]], and was likely inspired by sleep paralysis.
* It is interesting to note that ''mara'', besides being a root-word for nightmare, is also the name of a [[wikipedia:Mara_(demon)|Buddhist deity analogous to the devil]]. Although this may be a coincidence, Homura does ascend to become a Mara-like figure at the end of ''Rebellion''.
* Their connection with Homulilly was hinted on their tags, which reveals stylised runes of Homulilly's name. While it was hard to see during the movie as they were constantly moving, the tag is much easier to observe in [[Magia Record: Puella Magi Madoka Magica Side Story|Magia Record]] and [[Puella Magi Madoka Magica Magia Exedra|Magia Exedra]].
** Judging their role as false enemies inside the fake Mitakihara Town (Homulilly's barrier), it is suspected that Nightmares might be also a type of her Familiars.

==Trivia==
*The first Nightmare seems to enjoy food a lot as shown in the movie and concept art.
**In Magia Record, the defeat animation for Hitomi's Nightmare also depicts it eating food before disappearing.
* Despite being shown in ''[[Rebellion Production Note]]'', Koyagi did not actually appear in ''[[Rebellion]]''. Its first appearance outside of concept art was in ''[[Magia Exedra]]''.
