Kasamino City (風見野 Kasamino-shi) is the city where Kyoko and her family are originally from.
Based on comments by Kyoko in the Drama CD "Farewell Story", it is a neighboring city of Mitakihara.
It is speculated that this city is where Yuma and Kyoko first meet in the spin-off manga, Puella Magi Oriko Magica.
Speculation
- It is unknown where is the exact location of Kasamino City, however, there are some clues as to its possible location. There is a strong possibility that Kasamino City shares a border with Mitakihara City's eastern border:
- When Kyoko arrives to Mitakihara in the anime series, she is watching over the city from the Observation Tower. It is assumed that once she arrived to Mitakihara, she probably visited her father's church first, and then climbed the Observation Tower as it is the tallest structure within the vicinity. This is highly speculative.
- In the Drama CD "Farewell Story", Kyoko arrives to Mitakihara in the pursued of a witch. It is assumed that not a lot of time has passed since their arrival to the city, so the witch couldn't have gone too far. In the Drama CD, a teacher indicates that Madoka's class is taking a tour of the automobile factory, which is also the location of the Witch's barrier.
- One possible location of such factory would be within the industrial district. According with the Madoka PSP game, the industrial district is located on the eastern part of the city, which is not far from the Sakura Church. If this is correct, then the witch and Kyoko both came from the eastern direction.
