Lil` Kyubey is one of the original characters in the 2017 mobile game Puella Magi Madoka Magica Side Story: Magia Record. Storywise, he takes the place of the player and acts as the character's proxy.

Summary

An individual who seems to be a Kyubey found only in Kamihama City. Appearing to be much younger than other individuals, it was first seen wandering around the town, but nowadays it can be seen living with the residents of Mikazuki Villa. It’s unclear what its purpose is, and there are still many mysteries.

• The first character to have the "Variable" attribute effect. This causes the target to change Lil' Kyubey's attack to the advantage attribute. His attribute remains the same when defending, however.
• It is the first genderless playable character.
• It is also the first character without a set name on its card; instead, the card's name is the one the players gave themselves.
• This character can only perform diagonal blasts and likewise no other character can perform a diagonal blast. If a different character connects to or from Lil' Kyubey, the blast discs get converted.
  • ⭨ Blasts become ↕ blasts and vice versa.
  • ↙ Blasts become ↔ blasts and vice versa.
• Its illustrator is Sasagi Koushi.
• Some of the frames from its transformation scene are a reference to Lyrical Toy Box from Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha.
