Summary

More than a year and a half after her farewell with Jun Kazari, Mitsune has fallen into a depression for having lost her only friend, dreaming every day about the farewell they had. One night Mitsune wakes up and laments about this, continuing with her personal blog in which she writes about her pain. The next day Mitsune receives a visit from a classmate of hers who is going to leave her homework as usual while Mitsune's mother thanks her, but Mitsune does not thank her classmate, who complains about having to bring her homework every day. An upset Mitsune tells her classmate not to meddle in her life when her classmate asks her if she doesn't think she should stop being a hikkikomori who doesn't go to school, so the girl tells her that that was the last time she she carried her homework, because it bothered her to go even though she was her neighbor. Mitsune begins to cry and writes lies about having friends and doing well in school on her blog. At night Mitsune decides to leave her room and finds her parents talking about how worried they are about her not leaving her room or the house, because they want her to socialize but they fear that Mitsune will go into a violent state as they saw in the news about a young hikkikomori. Mitsune's personal magic allows her to change the perception of someone. She uses this on herself after Jun dies, making herself believe that the reason Jun is gone is that she simply moved away again.

  • Considering her computer theme, it's most likely a computer cable.
• Claudia is the feminine form of the Latin name Claudius. Traditionally, it has been said to come from the Latin root claudus, meaning "lame", but a more likely origin is the Sabine cognate clausus, meaning "shut, closed". This refers to Mitsune's reserved, shut-in personality.
  • Her Doppel Witch could be based on Claudia Kincaid, protagonist of the novel From the Mixed-Up Files of Mrs. Basil E. Frankweiler. Claudia is a 12 year old who runs away from home along side her little brother Jamie, as she doesn't feel appreciated by her parents. She is a good planner but can't handle money well, as she spends much of it on sweets.
• Her and Matsuri Hinata doppel's are both very similar.
  • It, along with her hacking/technology motif, may also be a reference to the character Claudia Donovan from the American science-fiction series Warehouse 13, a red-headed young woman, hacker, and inventor. Incidentally, the characters of that show regularly used taser-like handguns that fired bolts of electricity to incapacitate enemies.
