Paola (PAOLA) is a witch that appears in the Madoka Magica franchise.

Her first appearence was in Madoka Magica Drama CD 4: Summer Magical Girl Training Camp!!. Material released with the Drama CD identified the witch as Paola Bona (PAOLA BONA).

Paola would reappear in the mobile game Puella Magi Madoka Magica Side Story: Magia Record. The game clarifies that Paola is the name of the witch, while "Bona" (BONA) is the name of the familiar the witch rides on.

ゴムの魔女その性質は、反発。海水浴場に姿を現しその結界内も無限に広がる海面・魔女自身は全く泳げないためよく浮く手下が必须。全身き弾ませた高速攻撃も出来るらしいが、結界内では溺れないよう手下にしがみつくことで精一杯海水浴客の少ない季節は冬眠している。

The witch of rubber. Her nature is rebounding. She appears at ocean bathing resorts, and the interior of her barrier is an endless expanse of ocean. The witch herself can’t swim at all, so it’s essential for her to have very buoyant minions. Apparently, she can also perform high-speed bodyslams by bouncing herself around, but she’s too busy clinging to her minions so she doesn’t drown in her own barrier. She hibernates during seasons when there aren’t many bathers visiting.

Minions

ゴムの魔女の手下。その役割は、浮力。アメンボのように海面を走り回ることが出来る。中心の穴から触れた者の上下を入れ替えるビーチボールを発射し、結界に迷い込んだ人間を溺れさせてしまう体には空気が詰まっており、尖っている物は苦手。普段は浮き輪に擬態し海血を漂っている。

Minions of the witch of rubber. Their role is flotation. They can run across the surface of the ocean like water striders. From the holes in their centers, they shoot beach balls that flip the top and bottom of those who touch them, and drown any humans who’ve wandered into their witch’s barrier. Their bodies are filled with air, and they hate sharp objects. They’re typically found floating on the water while disguised as inflatable rings.
