Ria Ami is the one of the original characters of the 2017 mobile game Puella Magi Madoka Magica Side Story: Magia Record. She first appeared as a side character in Rika Ayano and Homura's side stories. She later became a playable character in late April 2018.

Other Appearances
Ria appears in Rika Ayano’s side story fighting a witch alongside Manaka Kurumi, a fellow magical girl. When Rika joins in the fray, Ria initially believes that Rika has gone berserk and tells Rika that her fighting style is both dangerous and inelegant. Much to Ria’s dismay, Manaka points out that Ria doesn’t have an elegant fighting style either. Rika then compares them to a comedy duo and explains she fights witches as a form of stress relief.
Ria also appears in Ren Isuzu’s side story at “Emiri’s Trouble Consultation Office” where she meets Ren for the first time and offers her hand cream.
Ria appears in Homura’s side story. Homura and Madoka are walking in the city when they sense the presence of a witch. They find the witch’s barrier but it dissipates before they can investigate further. It turns out it was destroyed by another magical girl who Madoka recognizes as a model. She introduces herself as Ria Ami, who is delighted to have a fan. She becomes embarrassed when Madoka keeps staring at her and invites the two girls to tea. Homura says it was fine with just the two of them, but is happy to see Madoka is happy. The three enter a cafe, where Ami discusses modeling. Homura thinks that Ami is beautiful as if she was artificial. Ami gets flustered before Madoka says Homura meant she was like a doll. Later they go to the fashion district where Madoka looks at clothes. Ami says that one piece of clothing suits Madoka, but Madoka says it suits Homura better. Madoka then notices a piece Ami modeled in and said she looked cool. Ami then takes Homura back to talk. She asks if Homura is interested her at all, and points out that Homura has spent the whole time looking at Madoka. Homura says she didn't meant to. Ria laughs and says as a model she's sensitive to people's line of sight. Ami says that even though meeting a supermodel is an unusual sight, Homura only payed attention to Madoka. Ami admits she's jealous and wishes someone could look at her with the same eyes Homura has. Homura says she will protect Madoka. Ami tells Homura that she's a cool magical girl. When Madoka returns to the others, Ami says she has to leave. Homura and Madoka thanks Ami, who tells them to keep getting along. Homura asks Madoka if she wants to look around more, which Madoka agrees. Homura thinks that even if she doesn't know she's cool, she will still save Madoka.
