Riz Hawkwood

Riz Hawkwood (リズ・ホークウッド, Rizu Hōkuuddo) is one of the main characters in Puella Magi Tart Magica: The Legend of "Jeanne d'Arc". She is one of Tart's companions and close friends.

Personality

Riz is a bit quiet and fierce. She is devoted to her friends, especially Tart as Riz is always saving her one way or another. Riz is also known to have a good balance with her powers and is a veteran. She tries to keep Tart happy and always agrees with what Tart says. She is also good at hiding in the shadows and pointing things out.

Story

Riz in Tart Magica

Riz first appears in chapter 1 after asking Tart if she was alright after waking up. Riz also states that Tart always has her head in the clouds and hasn't matured.

Riz then heads out with the others after hearing reports of a witch. After arriving at the fort and finding Minou controlling another magical girl to fight for her, Riz saves Tart from getting attacked and enters the witch barrier after Minou turns the girl into a witch. Riz and the others defeat the witch and see that the fort has been reclaimed.

Later on, it is revealed that Riz saved Tart and her sister Catherine from a witch years before, and since then the two became friends. After her father thanking Riz and letting her eat their food, Riz teaches Tart how to use a sword. A while later Tart's village is attacked and Riz doesn't show up , Catherine is stabbed in the back and dies. After Catherine's funeral , Riz witnesses Tart becoming a magical girl.
