Unless you're saying Hitomi is Homura (or another magical girl), the 'reconstruction' theory doesn't hold that well, in first episode she clears her throat when Sayaka and Madoka are 'flirting', this takes them from the middle of the wooded path to the steps in front of the school gate.

So where would these fit in this theory?

Direct Energy Attacks

Only seen in Ep.1. first by the prologue's witch against Homura, then by Homura as she is trying to kill Kyubey. Gertrud may have been attacking with this method before she is distracted by Mami's tendrils and Mami's gunshots may fall into this category. Yil 00:48, 9 February 2011 (CST)
