Hey, while I wasn't the one who changed it, I think I figured it out. This article (https://a-nima-figure.blog.so-net.ne.jp/2016-10-12) in Japanese explains it. Basically, it got confirmed in the MADOGATARI event. The article even notes how strange it is for the tag on Candelero had Du Polignac and assumed it was apart of her name at first. --Prinpop (talk) 22:44, 4 May 2019 (UTC)

New information
I noticed there was new information given to candeloro and her familiars some time ago. 'She hosts a tea party every day within her home at the depths of her labyrinth, but eating the food there will remove one's soul. Her body is so small, it could fit in a tea cup. She mainly transports herself by hanging onto her familiars' bodies like a keyholder.' 'They are precious friends of the witch. They come in different forms, such as Akairo-san or Momoiro-san, but they all have the same task.' These don't seem to be in the original portable game profile. If they are true, I think a source proving it would be good, thanks. DreamerWitches (talk) 15:44, 19 November 2020 (UTC)
It's from the same source as the familiar's names, just above your comment. --AlsoArei (talk) 17:58, 19 November 2020 (UTC)
I see... I feel silly for missing that. So that's just the updated bio from Madogatari, it's good to know now. Also from the article I found that the familiars go as follows: Madoka is "Momoiro-san", Kyoko is "Akairo-san", Sayaka "Aoiro-san", Homura "Kuroiro-san" or "Murasakiiro-san", Hitomi "Midoriiro-san". But they're all called Du Polignac. There was also some information that I saw to be interesting but I wasn't very sure how to decipher it..
'What was written in the material
"A long purple table in the witch's house"
"Design furniture bigger than usual so that players can be child-sized."
"Pendant form"
"How to put on Mami → Gatchirichocho Musubi behind the neck. Bring the Mami hair roll from the back to the front and complete."
"Mami accessories completed" "Only the ribbon (hand) is left outside"
"Are you stretching or contracting the skirt of the witch?"' '
I would also love to find the images of the other Du Polignac girls. Though it may be a tough search.. DreamerWitches (talk) 19:19, 19 November 2020 (UTC)
No, I believe those are hypothetical names that the blog writer gave to the different sorts of Du Polignacs. It says "If I had to give them names, they'd be..." before the list, and afterwards "Those are the sort of names you'd expect for them, but they weren't actually published anywhere." --AlsoArei (talk) 20:38, 19 November 2020 (UTC)

stay away from 4chan if you know what is good for you...

are we going to consider the game canon?... there is always issues with games... --Mutopis 02:20, 21 December 2011 (UTC)

The scenarios are written by Urobuchi, Shaft and Inu Curry are doing the designs, the seiyuu are voicing their characters so yeah, I'd say it's reasonable to consider it at least as canonical as the manga spin-offs, which also have share the character page and so on. --randomanon 02:22, 21 December 2011 (UTC)
Actually, Urobuchi did not write it (or not all of it). He mainly "Supervise" the script. --0x99 02:25, 21 December 2011 (UTC)
True, though the way it was explained, I have no qualms of it having the complete Urobuchi stamp of approval: The scenarios of the game version will be under full supervision by Gen Urobuchi of Nitroplus. Regarding that Doi noted that “the game will have multiple ending and I would like to drill down to explore the aspects of the characters that have not been seen before.” He also mentioned Urobuchi came to the development site frequently to have discussions. Doi looked satisfied with the result and said “I have high expectation of the scenarios.” At the very least, it will be as canonical as the drama CDs, which were also under his supervision. --randomanon 02:32, 21 December 2011 (UTC)
It won't hurt listing the witch in characters page though, as long as we mark it as from PSP game. (Just like how we treat Oriko/Kazumi, etc.) Personally I think if Inu Curry designs it, at very least the witch form could be considered canon (even if the story itself may not be quite so). --0x99 02:25, 21 December 2011 (UTC)
I swear I'll never get people's gripes with canon sources that aren't the main and original source, even if they're just as official... but oh well.
As a personal note, I read a number of fan descriptions for Mami's witch form... and this doesn't hold a candle to some of them (no pun intended). It seems too bland, to be honest. I like the idea of the familiars being built into the image or her kouhais; and I have a sort-of childish satisfaction over having called it. --BrickBreak 03:01, 21 December 2011 (UTC)
Well, it matters for two reasons: One is clarity. For example, if someone has only seen the anime and knows Kyubey, mentions of Jubey is going to be confusing. The more works there are produced, the more confusing it will get as the body of information and discrepancies among sources grows larger. The second is that some fans care about sources and made subjective opinions on which they consider canonical and which do not. There will no doubt be some who do not consider some combination of the three manga, the game or the drama CDS to not be canon but rather than make those distinctions, we simply rule out things that are definitely not canonical (like the Comic Anthology) and make sure to list the sources for the rest because of reasons 1 and 2. --randomanon 03:22, 21 December 2011 (UTC)
What the heck is her name supposed to mean? --Universalperson 03:44, 21 December 2011 (UTC)
I think it is an Italian name (male), the female equivalent is Candelora and I think the name seems to suggest something to do with the some sort of religious festival, of course I cant understand Italian but there is an English source that explains it. (Good thing Spanish has similar words in Italian or otherwise I wouldnt understand any of it...) --Mutopis 03:51, 21 December 2011 (UTC)
