:The fight scenes are indeed pretty familiar (the whole "one-shot guns that you throw afterwards" that Mami uses for instance appears at least once). ::Being a fan of Equilibrium myself, I have to say the plot of Equilibrium doesn't have anything to do with Madoka Magica unless we start pulling some meter-long worms out of its tiny nose. At most, the references are in Mami's gunkata. Where Equilibrium is the struggle of one man to free humanity from the torpor they've inflicted on themselves by denying their emotions, Madoka Magica is the struggle of one (arguably two) girls to give destiny the finger and make it through things alive. Both series do indeed end with the main character shattering the entire established system, but this kind of ending is extremely, extremely common among media where the main character is fighting against a government or ruleset. I wouldn't credit Equilibrium to this.

:It's pretty much correct! There are some weird things in the tweet that I don't think came through in the translation, though:
::*Urobuchi refers to Madoka as if she was a complete stranger (or a real person), not as if she was something he himself made.
::*The name of the submitted draft could be better rendered as "Mahou Shoujo Revelation Madoka☆Magica," since 黙示録 specifically refers to the [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Book_of_Revelation Book of Revelation] from the New Testament. (I guess any old apocalypse wasn't good enough for our friend Gen, huh?)
::*The last sentence (というお話はどこかでしたっけ?) suggests that Urobuchi can't remember what happened to the said proposal. (I wonder how different it was from the final project?) [[Special:Contributions/208.120.155.143|208.120.155.143]] 03:28, 5 October 2012 (UTC)

Page is missing a little bit too much.

Equilibrum

I hear that Urobuchi is a fan of Equilibrium, (he even wrote a short fanfiction, Jouka no Monshou). Rumor has it that the film influenced Urobuchi to make Homura a gun-wielding badass. Any ideas or evidence to confirm this?? --Mutopis 08:44, 15 May 2011 (UTC)

The fight scenes are indeed pretty familiar (the whole "one-shot guns that you throw afterwards" that Mami uses for instance appears at least once). Aside from that, the resemblance didn't really strike me, that film is basically 1984 revisited.
Oh I just forgot another resemblance in that the MC becomes a quasi-god at the end. --Homerun-chan 10:52, 15 May 2011 (UTC)
I am a big fan of Equilibrium and has the DVD. I can't immediately recall any direct analogy between these two series, besides that both are rather grim and action-packed. I'll check it out sometime and see if there's anything I missed. - Prima 19:47, 15 May 2011 (UTC)
Being a fan of Equilibrium myself, I have to say the plot of Equilibrium doesn't have anything to do with Madoka Magica unless we start pulling some meter-long worms out of its tiny nose.

Rearranging page

I arranged the page a little to look more akin to Shinbo's page. The bio was compiled mostly by putting together various pieces of info from the documents section. It probably still needs some work, so what other documents contain information that could be added or what should be condensed? --Knon 16:15, 30 July 2011 (UTC)

It's pretty much correct! There are some weird things in the tweet that I don't think came through in the translation, though:
  • Urobuchi refers to Madoka as if she was a complete stranger (or a real person), not as if she was something he himself made.
  • The name of the submitted draft could be better rendered as "Mahou Shoujo Revelation Madoka☆Magica," since 黙示録 specifically refers to the Book of Revelation from the New Testament. (I guess any old apocalypse wasn't good enough for our friend Gen, huh?)
  • The last sentence (というお話はどこかでしたっけ?) suggests that Urobuchi can't remember what happened to the said proposal. (I wonder how different it was from the final project?) 208.120.155.143 03:28, 5 October 2012 (UTC)

Gen I'd say it's happy end, at least for the main character Homura. I also think Sayaka's stock is raised. Since when the world ends up that way, the only one who can save it is Sayaka. She really becomes a lone hero. I haven't thought about how to continue it from Madoka becoming a "concept" in the end.
