Possible oversight. How did Lapin make a wish if her mother was already a Witch? Did she do it with Cube, or did Isabeau retain her powers after becoming a witch? PureChaos (talk) 13:41, 4 May 2023 (UTC)

Had to look this up myself, it's in volume 5; it's not actually specified who exactly granted Lapin's wish. Kyubey is the one explaining how Isabeau came to be and elaborated on Lapin's wish, so it's possible that Kyubey did it. -The Witch's House (talk) 16:13, 4 May 2023 (UTC)
In Isabeau's (Witch) MSS of Magia Record Kyubey explains to Perenelle more things that we didn't got explanation on the manga. Isabeau turned into a witch because she didn't got a grandson she could turn (and control) into being king of England and France due to the premature death's of her son in law (the king of England that she got her daughter Catherine married to) and her husband. Kyubey tells Perenelle that he taught that was going to be her end in that moment, but what he didn't count on was that Isabeau (witch) would still have her unique power of creating magical girls and that she was the one that granted Lapin's wish while he watched all this happen in the shadows. If I recall correctly, Isabeau made contracts with some girls during Rebel of a Dawnless Land, which basically confirms that she still had her powers as a witch. ~ Celtic Minstrel (talk) 02:07, 5 May 2023 (UTC)
We already knew that Isabeau still had her powers even as a witch, though this does create another oversight; it's noted that even though Witch!Isabeau still has her powers, any magical girl who made a contract with her then would lose their souls and become like Flèche and Lame. Corbeau I assume is exempt from this because she contracted before Isabeau became a witch, but Lapin (and by extension Minou) made their contracts when Isabeau was a witch. And they don't lose their souls like Flèche and Lame do. -The Witch's House (talk) 07:31, 5 May 2023 (UTC)
The girls that even contracted with Isabeau when she was still a magical girl also lost their soul and freewill as it was shown in Magical Girl Isabeau's MSS, which means Corbeau had to lost her soul but like her sisters that didn't happen. I have a theory as to why neither of Isabeau's daughters lost their souls. In the MSS of Isabeau (Magical Girl) when Isabeau tells Kyubey that she plans to turn her three daughters into magical girls Kyubey is confused by this because he notes that Isabeau acts different with them in comparison to her other children, suspecting that she actually does love them and turning them into magical girls wouldn't be logical because Isabeau alredy knows everything about the magical girls system. Isabeau confirmes that she loves her daughters and says the only reason she wants to turn them into magical girls is beacuse she thinks that would make them inmortal, and just wants to be with them for all eternity. My theory is that because of her genuine feelings of love towards her daughters, they didn't lost their souls when contracting with Isabeau, even when she turned into a witch and didn't recognice them is possible some part of her emotions for them were still inside her witch form and that's why Lapin and Minou didn't lost her souls like Corbeau also didn't lost hers when Isabeau was still a magical girl. I haven't seen a translation of that one, are you aware of one? Or even just a summary. There's no summary on this wiki or the other wiki, and the translation document tracking all the translations lists it as untranslated. There does seem to be a transcription, so I guess I could paste that into Google Translate and hope it doesn't butcher it too much... but that might be too much to hope for. ~ Celtic Minstrel (talk) 13:00, 5 May 2023 (UTC)
I checked and all that said was shown was all in Witch Isabeau's MSS, sorry I got confused. There are shown some interesting things there, there is a hint that Louis I could be the father of Lapin, Corbeau and Minou (meaning they are also sisters of Jean de Dunois) as Isabeau had an affair with him for years before his death. The channel Magia Union Translations has been subbing many of the MSS, events and other stories of Magia Record. Here is a link to Witch Isabeau's story subbed in english: https://youtu.be/phILz-Zqq6E Karminja (talk) 20:07, 5 May 2023 (UTC)
Thank you for the link. I have already downloaded the Witch Isabeau's MGS from the google drive repository though. I was hoping to find the MG Isabeau's MGS but I guess it just doesn't exist in English yet. ~ Celtic Minstrel (talk) 00:10, 6 May 2023 (UTC)
