:If you're going to do that, please base it on what the map actually shows. Things like population density are not shown. Furthermore, understand placement and scale is inexact. For example, everyone can walk to school together which means the residences are very close to one another (< 1km would be standard). In terms of inexact placement, take the windmills as an example. Tt appears to be on a body of water but of course it isn't. Re: population, the area referred to as "downtown" has many buildings and is described as highly populated, but looking at the map, it doesn't appear to be exceptionally numerous in buildings. tldr; keep it to the facts of what you can see and don't speculate so much until you've played the game, please. I don't want to spend so much of my time fixing things. --[[User:Randomanon|randomanon]] 07:26, 15 April 2012 (UTC)

===Something about this map I noticed===
I apologize if I'm a bother, but there is something really distracting that just bothers me to no end that I realized about this version of the Mitakihara map... If my memory is correct (which, it usually isn't because I have memory issues) aren't Kyosuke and Sayaka supposed to live in completely different directions from the school? Like, Madoka, Sayaka, and Hitomi would live in the direction of one path, and Kyosuke in the other, because when Kyosuke was going home and Hitomi went with Kyosuke, wasn't it a completely different path, and not a path where Hitomi's home is at when Hitomi was going to confess to Kyosuke? Not to mention Sayaka never ever walks home with Kyosuke, so I assume that has something to do with living on different paths. (Err, I can't word that correctly, but I guess someone reading might get the idea) And if that's the case, then why are Kyosuke and Sayaka's houses so dang close to each other, and on the same path to the school too? In fact, since when was there ever a bridge to cross with water underneath it when Madoka, Sayaka, and Hitomi go to school? If I remember correctly, I only saw one when Madoka and Sayaka were walking with Mami or something, it was a large bridge (err, my memory is terrible), and as for Madoka, Sayaka, and Hitomi's path to school, If memory is correct, wasn't it like, Madoka's house, road with crosswalks and street lamps, Madoka runs up to Hitomi and Sayaka and they continue walking (err, running together with music playing), they take a turn, and then they just keep walking straight until they reach the school? Err, I guess what I'm trying to say is, shouldn't Kyosuke's house be on the same side as Mami's apartment, or just any different side from Madoka's, Sayaka's, (and I assume Hitomi's) Houses, yet apparently it's on the same side as Sayaka and Madoka's houses in the PSP game? I apologize if I sound stupid, I certainly feel stupid with how I wrote this... I've been wanting to make my own 3D map of Mitakihara, but I keep getting panic attacks every time I try to watch Madoka Magica again now and I don't know why but that's besides the point and I shouldn't have brought it up... --[[User:GoldyFish110|GoldyFish110]] 27 August 2019

In the game, they mostly just say Mitakihara without specifying city or town. However, the evacuation order for Walpurgis (which I've heard many times) just like in the anime, clearly says Mitakihara city. I've heard Sayaka say Mitakihara city as well. I don't recall an instance where they refer to it as town. So, this is why I went with city instead of town in describing the game. --randomanon 16:45, 14 April 2012 (UTC)

If you're going to do that, please base it on what the map actually shows. Things like population density are not shown. Furthermore, understand placement and scale is inexact. For example, everyone can walk to school together which means the residences are very close to one another (< 1km would be standard). In terms of inexact placement, take the windmills as an example. It appears to be on a body of water but of course it isn't. It's in the Homura route if Mami survives, Sayaka becomes Oktavia and you tell them the truth about witches. --randomanon 09:03, 15 April 2012 (UTC)

Windmill or Wind Turbine?

I know they are almost the same thing, but Wind Turbine is more specific... if we cannot change it, then let it be... --Mutopis 10:03, 15 April 2012 (UTC)

Nothing will be changed until a translated version comes out with specified names or someone indicates names from the game files. As noted, these names are descriptions and not the actual name of locations. Please consider these placeholders and treat them accordingly. --randomanon 18:27, 15 April 2012 (UTC)

Something about this map I noticed

--GoldyFish110 27 August 2019
