Alternative translation for the card: The mermaid witch. Her nature is that of falling in love. The witch's domain is that of the concert hall that deeply moved her long ago. Her Wheel of Fate bears the load of only her memories and no longer rolls towards the future. Nothing can reach her. She no longer wants to know anything. Now she merely does not forgive those who interrupt the performance of her underlings.

The witch of Mermaid. Her nature is love attachment. She moves around together with concert hall while dreaming her good days. Her rolling fate is only her memories and can no longer move to the future. Nothing can reach her. No longer anything she could know. She can't forgive anyone who interrupt her familiar's music.

Falling in Love or Love Attachment?

I prefer Love Attachment, it makes sense since she cannot give up her childhood love. What about you guys? --Mutopis 03:21, 11 March 2011 (UTC)

It just sounds so awkward, and I get the feeling that somebody misunderstood the dictionary definition ("love, attachment, tender emotions, falling in love") when they wrote that. Besides, her obstinacy and refusal to give up her love is basically what the rest of the card text is about.--Urutapu 05:18, 11 March 2011 (UTC)

Translation for Second Oktavia Card

The current translation sounded a little odd, so I took a crack at it myself:

人魚の魔女。

Ningyo no majo. (The mermaid witch.)

その性質は恋慕。
Sono seishitsu wa rembo.
(Her nature is love/yearning/falling in love.)

ギターが鳴り響くコンサートホールの中で在りし日の感動を夢見続ける魔女。
Gitaa ga narihibiku konsaato horu no naka de arishi hi no kandou o yumemi tsuzukeru majo.
(The witch continues to dream of a guitar resounding in the middle of a concert hall, a deeply moving impression from past days.)

繰り返す時間の中で僅かな違いこそあれど、運命の車輪は冷徹に回る。
Kurikaesu jikan no naka de wazuka na chigai koso are do, ummei no sharin wa reitetsu ni miru.

(Repeating within that time with little but sure differences, her wheels of fate move round toward cool-headedness.)

Her wheels are moving toward "reitetsu," the characters for which only translate to "cool-headedness" (cold + clarity). Where is "future" in this sentence?

Also, why a guitar this time around? It would be weird if some tragic guitar-player popped up in Sayaka's life, and since Homura's time resets at a relatively late date, I don't see how Kamijou's instrumental preferences or Sayaka's life in general would change from timeline to timeline.

Oops, I'm not sure where that "future" comes from, I'll change it. Anyway, several points regarding your translations: I don't think 冷徹に回る translates to "toward cold-headedness", just like how 冷静に見る doesn't translate to "look into composure". My Daijirin dictionary describe 冷徹 as 感情に左右されることなく、冷静に物事を見通すこと。また、そのさま。「―なものの見方」 so I guess the correct translation of that line should be "her wheels of fate move around calmly".
