Translations

I would like to contribute translations for the pages on Roberta and Oktavia! Would it be better to edit the text into the images or to put it on their talk pages? Neuchadjinys 20:05, 18 August 2011 (UTC)

Whichever you prefer but if it's easiest, just go ahead and do it on the talk page here and I'll bother with the formatting and editing. Also if you want attribution, please note what you want written. Thanks. --randomanon 22:02, 18 August 2011 (UTC)

Thanks, I put your translations on the main page. Please let me know if anything needs to be changed. --randomanon 00:08, 19 August 2011 (UTC)
Everything looks fine to me. Thanks a lot! :D Neuchadjinys 00:19, 19 August 2011 (UTC)
Weird, thought I had replied but guess not. Thanks for the translation, they're always welcome. --randomanon 19:55, 20 August 2011 (UTC)
I find Kyousuke as a guitarist to be very odd, did he quit the violin and tried the guitar or something? Because he cant be a guitarist prior to the loop unless Homura didnt just time traveled but when to a parallel universe, after all he has been playing the violin since he was a child.... --Mutopis 19:00, 15 September 2011 (UTC)
It's extremely bizarre, especially since Gen Urobuchi said he didn't really think too much about the mechanics of Homura's time loops. That said, alternate-Oktavia's witch card does mention a guitar, and we have no reason to assume it refers to anyone but Kyousuke. There might be something going on here. --Universalperson 19:52, 15 September 2011 (UTC)
Yes, they are different universes. Hence the differences. --randomanon 20:32, 15 September 2011 (UTC)
Then something needs to be done to address the possibility of a time travel to parallel universes. Clearly there is more than just time travel in Homura's powers. --Mutopis 21:26, 15 September 2011 (UTC)
I added some notes in the Homura page. --Mutopis 22:11, 15 September 2011 (UTC)
Don't have time to read through it but the guitar is canon. It is mentioned in the card for ep. 10 Octavia. --randomanon 23:04, 15 September 2011 (UTC)

The play stops on Walpurgisnacht, and the earth does not turn even once more. The story will not change. Tomorrow, and the day after, is the night of Walpurgis.

Witch of cheesecake (early concept that later became Charlotte)

Translation for this, which is a part of this page.

ヨワイマジョ Weak witch ワンホール・チーズケーキ One-whole cheesecake

Does this say the birthdays of the characters?

I was randomly browsing for one of the characters (be it images, sites... etc) and something called my attention, MyAnimeList marks the birthdays of the characters saying the source is from Production Note My question is: Is this true? Quick links: http://myanimelist.net/character/38005/Homura_Akemi

http://myanimelist.net/character/38395/Sayaka_Miki

http://myanimelist.net/character/40006/Kyouko_Sakura

http://myanimelist.net/character/38194/Mami_Tomoe

No, there's nothing in the Production Note for character birth date or blood type in it. The only one we know is Madoka's from 100_Questions. The Production Note has two books. One is the Inu Curry "Image Note," which only has witch sketches, storyboards, etc. Nothing on the characters. The other book, there's been pretty much every character page posted either on this page or the Art Book, and as you can see, there's nothing that resembles that kind of character data on them. It's all directions related to how to draw them and so on. I don't know why people are claiming this..I've also seen false exact heights given for characters when the only thing we know is height ranges, except for Madoka. --randomanon 06:53, 16 December 2011 (UTC)
I see, thanks for the information!--84.77.58.17 07:06, 16 December 2011 (UTC)

"Book"

There's this translator note:

Up front there's Book-style stars. [TN: The word 'Book', written in English, appears on several similar design pages. It may indicate the use of a unique art style.]

The word "Book" means part of background that's projected above the background itself (i.e. it appears in a layer above character animation frames). Something like a scene around 19:15 or 19:25 in episode 1 or crayons in episode 5 (at 16:58 mark). I'm not sure how to call it in English though. --0x99 20:49, 10 March 2012 (UTC)

Oh, that makes sense. Thank you very much. --Neuchadjinys 21:04, 10 March 2012 (UTC)
