It is not a fact that the object in the sky in the beginning of Episode 1 was a witch. At first glance it may appear to be a lamp, though most probably is an upside down figure wearing a dress and veil, arms extended. The bottom has a [[wikipedia:Tomoe|tomoe]] pattern on it-- "Tomoe" is also [[Mami Tomoe]]'s last name.
