Yuna Kureha is a non-playable character in the 2017 mobile game Puella Magi Madoka Magica Side Story: Magia Record. She first appeared in August 2019 in the event Crimson Resolve. She is the leader of the Torayacho faction and one of the "three sisters" that lead Promised Blood.

Summary

A Magical Girl from Futatsugi City, she led the Torayacho gang before joining forces with Ryusagaki and Hebinomiya to form Promised Blood as one of its leaders. While she was once a calm and kindhearted girl, the bloody gang wars within Futatsugi left deep scars upon her psyche, transforming her into an avatar of avenging justice. Now she marches upon Kamihama, seeking retribution for their role in the deaths of so many of her fellow Magical Girls.

Abilities

• Her ability is target redirection, which links a victim to an item. She has used this to link Juri Oba to a tire in a playground and inflicted damage on it to hurt Juri.

Etymology

• The characters of her last name mean "crimson" (紅) and "clear" (晴) respectively.
• The characters of her first name mean "bind" (結) and "vegetable" (菜) respectively.

Trivia

• Yuna has a clear Oni aesthetic. Like traditional Oni, she has a horn, wears a costume resembling loincloth, and uses a spiked club as her weapon. She used to lead Torayacho, named after the tiger, and Oni traditionally bear both tiger (striped loincloth) and ox (the horns) characteristics because they come from the ox/tiger gate, also known as the demon gate.
• She contracted at 16 and has been a magical girl for almost two years.
• According to Hikaru's MGS, she is the Student council president and the daughter of Futatsugi's mayor.

Speculations

The theories below have not been proven yet.

• Her innate magic is inherit despair of her dead allies, which is opposed to Yachiyo Nanami's, which is inherit hope of the dead.
  • It also makes Yuna stronger, even though she is shown to be old for a Magical Girl.
• There are speculations that Yuna will be a 3* and her appearance changes when unccaped, or she will have an alt version before growing her horn.
