Etymology
Shi (シィ shii) can refer to chinquapin, a tree in the beech family (which also includes oaks and chestnuts).
In a kanji spelling, shi (死) means death.
Trivia
- She is designed by Gekidan Inu Curry, just like Yu.
- Shi notably gains an extra set of arms when she transforms, which she uses to carry her pickaxes with.
- Chinquapins are found in tropical and subtropical East Asia.
- Her original release date could be read as March of 2024. However, for one reason or another, this was ultimately inaccurate.
- It's possible, due to Yu's equine appearance and Shi's pale skin, that the two represent the Pale Rider of the apocalypse, with Yu being the steed and Shi being her rider.
- Shi in kanji (死) means death, which is the name of the Pale Rider.
