Population Modeling

Population of Magical Girls

I tried simulating the populations growth in FreeMat with the formulae given (I have no access to Matlab nor Simulink before Tuesday), but my population of witches grows exponentially ... The MGs are fine though, they reach equilibrium pretty fast. I think that has to do with the constants (B, K, C, ...) but I can't find good values for them.
Anyway, my point was that I think it should be nice to have one or two graphics showing the evolution of MGs and witches over time, a bit like what I posted here, but with correct values --Homerun-chan 11:03, 18 March 2011 (UTC)

I no longer have access to Matlab either, unfortunately, but my hand calculations seems to show the same. M(t) always reach equilibrium while W(t) never does. I am writing this off as the reason why QB is abandoning Earth after reaching his quota in the observations section. Prima 11:06, 18 March 2011 (UTC)

Modified Population Model

Had a productive discussion with neotenshi (Homura-chan?) over the correctness of the simple population model and we came up with modified premises. Above is graphic that show changes made. Prima 19:13, 18 March 2011 (UTC)

I'm neotenshi indeed. Updated the article with the new version. I'll now try and make it a little less scary by changing its design, but I'm not sure how to do so... --Homerun-chan 19:20, 18 March 2011 (UTC)
This page has became quite lengthy. Perhaps we should break it apart to the individual displines? If so, we can seperate the modeling two main sections besides the introduction: simple model, modifications to the simple model. Since I believe we agreed that the observations of the simple model largely holds in the long term. Prima 19:23, 18 March 2011 (UTC)
Also been trying to crack a general solution to the modified model, if only I can prove F/(K-B) > 1... Prima 19:30, 18 March 2011 (UTC)
