Puella Magi Madoka Magica is ultimately a love story. It is the tale of how one person, even after sacrificing so much, continues to do everything in her power to keep the one she cares about away from the horrors of fighting and death, even though the other no longer remembers her.

Doesn't matter whether it's platonic or romantic, it's still heartwarming as hell.
