Puella Magi Wiki:About
Welcome to the Puella Magi Wiki, an online encyclopedia about the Puella Magi Madoka Magica franchise. It is edited by fans of the series and currently has 2,825 articles.
History
Puella Magi Wiki began as the Madoka Wiki on Wikia (now Fandom) right after the original broadcast of Madoka Magica Episode 2: That Would Be Truly Wonderful by User:Homerun-chan. Around the same time, User:0x99 was setting up an independent MediaWiki instance to help organizing the Witch Runes deciphering effort, asked User:Homerun-chan if they're interested in collaborating. The Madoka Wiki was then moved from Wikia to its current independent domain on January 17, 2011, and was renamed Puella Magi Wiki.
The wiki was originally created for organizing theories and information from Madoka threads on 4chan during the original broadcast. The show exploded in popularity after Madoka Magica Episode 3: I'm Not Afraid of Anything Anymore and the Wiki now receives contributions from various Madoka Magica community members, from the manga spin-off series, to Magia Record, to Magia Exedra.
