Main Belt (小惑星帯 (メインベルト) Mein Beruto)[note 1] is an object in the Solar System, comprising of asteroids such as Juno (ジュノー). By year 2220, it has been colonized by humans, and includes colonies such as KawaiiTopia (カワイイトピア).[1] Its population count is approximately 500 million.[2] It was first introduced in Puella Magi Sorana Magica: Our Fates, Our Futures.

  • It appears to be based on the real-life asteroid belt, also known as "main asteroid belt" and "main belt" - a torus-shaped region in the Solar System, placed between the orbits of Mars and Jupiter, containing many asteroids/minor planets, including 3 Juno.

  1. ↑ The area's Japanese name uses a non-standard (ateji) reading of kanji based on the English name. 小惑星帯 would normally be read as shouwaku seitai.
