The Monogatari series first crossed over with Madoka Magica as part of the "Madogatari" event. The crossover was limited to official merchandise and artwork.
In 2018, Mayoi was made into a playable character in Puella Magi Madoka Magica Side Story: Magia Record, as part of a Madogatari event.

Summary
A labyrinth magical girl. One of the 'if' forms... of the heroines of Monogatari series if they became magical girls. Her excellent defense will cause the enemy’s attack to avoid her, as if it had lost its way. For some reason, I can never reach my mother’s house. My wish was “I want to return home”.
Doppel Description
The Doppel of wandering astray. Its form is a lost cow. The master of this emotion wishes only to return to her mother’s house. This Doppel, on the other hand, believes itself to be its master’s true mother, and in order to protect its master from the cruel fate that awaits her, it creates many spatial vortexes in front of her to prevent her from returning home. Those unlucky enough to be caught in the vortexes will be trampled and killed by the Doppel, and will be destined to wander eternally between the realms of life and death.

Abilities
Labyrinth Magical Girl Mayoi Hachikuji. Uses the spell Caterpillant (Infinitely Reckless) , Screw Zone (Spiral Path). A magical girl specializing in defensive aspects. She avoids the route of her opponent's attacks . However she has no traditional attacks from here and can't land hits. Because her drill is for creating paths were there are none this is more of a construction tool, and not for attacking.
Etymology
- The characters of her last name mean "八" (eight), "九" (nine), and "寺" (temple), respectively.
- The characters of her first name mean "真" (truth) and "宵" (evening), respectively.
Trivia
- When Mayoi uses her doppel, it does not show her witch's name in runes. Rather, it displays the white kanji "咼", which is the kanji for 'a' (as in a thing), in the same vein as to how Nadeko Sengoku's doppel's name translates to 'it'. However, "咼" is also the right half of the character for 'snail' (蝸), much like how Nadeko's doppel name was the right half of the character for 'snake' (蛇)
- The form of her doppel being a 'lost cow' is a pun on a play on the word "snail" (蝸牛, katatsumuri) which has the character for "cow" (牛, ushi).
