I don't want to die alone!

Before she met Madoka, Mami was all alone. She had no friends and all of her family was dead or completely estranged. When Kyuubey made his offer, she wished that she would not die alone. As in many "deal with the devil" stories, the exact letter of the contract is upheld: She makes new friends and immediately dies before their eyes.
