Home

The home screen shows either a rotatable view of the interior of the lighthouse, or the player's selected Dollhouse. In the lighthouse, some elements within the view can be interacted with, but only one of those does something useful. There are 10 options across the top of the screen and 7 more across the bottom.

The functions across the top are, from left to right:

  • Profile: The player's name is shown. Tap to open the profile page.
  • Level: Displays their player level. There is an info button which shows how close you are to the next level when tapped.
  • QP: Displays the player's current QP, or Quest Points. A plus button to the right can be tapped to increase it by consuming Magical Cubes or Magica Stones.
  • Magica Stones: Displays the player's current Magica Stone count. A plus button to the right can be tapped to purchase more from the store.
  • Missions: The user can complete tasks and obtain rewards from said tasks.
  • Gift Box: A place for the user to obtain gifts from the developers. Items obtained from the store and regular quests are often claimed here as well.
  • Camera: Opens the Camera mode, allowing Kioku to be posed in in-game backgrounds or over real life photographs.
  • Menu: Opens up the menu page, which contains additional options that are less frequently needed.
  • Screenshot Mode: A little broken square below the menu button hides all the buttons on the screen. Tap again to get them back.
  • Dollhouse: Opens the Dollhouse menu, allowing players to customize the home screen.

The functions across the bottom are, from left to right:

  • Chamber of Light: The in-game library showing all your major collectibles.
  • Player Match: Arena mode, where the user can fight against the bots of other users.
  • Union: A place for the user to meet and collaborate with other users.
  • Shop: Allows the user to visit Nighthawk and purchase items using real or in-game currency.
  • Fate Weave: Allows the user to draw from the gacha.
  • Party: Allows the user to manage their party and upgrade magical girls and portraits.
  • Quests: A button that allows the player to view Event Quests, the Tower game mode, Heartphial Quests, Upgrade quests, the Link Raid game mode, and Main Story Quests.
  • Event Quests: The player can scroll through currently open events and progress through five associated battles, per day and per event, without spending Magica Stones. Progressing through the battles allows the player to view the Event Story and gain Event-specific coins to use at Nighthawk's trader.
  • Archive: A place for the player to view previously released Events. If they played through, and completed, the Event battles during its original run, they can open it for free. If they did not do so, they must spend a Memory Ticket item to open the Archived Event. Archive battles can be played five times per day without using Magica Stones.
  • Tower: The player can ascend through the Mirror Witch's Labyrinth, defeating mirror versions of Main Story enemies and bosses for rewards, scaling with difficulty as the player beats more and more floors. The Tower is closed after around sixteen days, and opens around once a month. When the Tower closes, floor progress is reset, allowing players to regain the items from those floors when the Tower opens again.
  • Heartphial quests: The player can select bosses they have already defeated and defeat them again. After completion, the battle can be skipped repeatedly, five times per day without using Magica Stones, gaining Heartphial experience for the Kioku that beat the boss. Both Normal and Nightmare bosses can be battled, and are separated between tabs.
  • Upgrade Quests: Quests meant for unlocking materials to upgrade Kioku. The player can select between "Kioku" quests, "Magic Unlock" quests, and "Crystalis" quests. To play Upgrade Quests, the player must spend QP. During certain campaigns, quests cost only half as much QP.
  • Kioku: Kioku quest battles give experience orbs for Kioku. The player can select between Quest Rank 1 and Quest Rank 20 , with Quest Rank 20 giving the greatest rewards.
  • Magic Unlock: Magic Unlock quest battles give elemental Gems, allowing the player to level up a Kioku's Magic level. These quest battles are separated by Element, and the quests will only give Prism Gems and elemental Gems tied to that element. For each, the player can select between Quest Rank 1 and Quest Rank 20 , with higher ranks giving better materials, and Quest Rank 20 giving the greatest rewards.
  • Crystalis: Crystalis quests allow Kioku to gain random Crystalis abilities, and are separated by element, with some Crystalis abilities only obtained on certain elements. For each, the player can select from "Easy", "Normal", "Hard", "Very Hard", and "Extra", with harder levels giving better rewards.
  • Link Raid: Players can spend LP to fight powerful enemies, either by starting a battle on their own, or joining an ongoing battle started by another player. The enemy fought will change over time, and each enemy has 20 levels of difficulty.
  • Main Quests: The player can scroll through currently added stories, separated by which part of the series they are adapted from. Each chapter must be played in a pre-determined order, and Memory Windows are added as the story progresses and through updates.
  • Chaos Mode: To the left of the Main Story Quest screen is a button to go to Chaos Quests, a series of boss battles that are incredibly difficult and offer upgraded rewards.

There is also one function that is placed within the Lighthouse, which means it can be rotated out of sight:

  • Magia Box: A chest which slowly fills up with useful goodies over time. The player may also spend Magica Stones several times a day to obtain the goodies immediately.

Battle

Pre-battle

Before starting battle, the Player must create a team of five or less Magical Girls. These Magical Girls are obtained through Kioku, which are in turn obtained in the Fate Weave, or gacha system. A Portrait can be equipped to a character to increase their power and apply additional effects. Additionally, Magical girls and Portraits can be leveled up to further increase their power. The player can also equip Support Kioku to the Kioku after clearing the Puella Magi Oriko Magica: sadness prayer Main Quest. Support Kioku add a maximum of 15% of their stats to the Kioku they are equipped to, and apply a special effect if they are equipped to the Role or Element that the Support Kioku specifies.

Battle

In battle, the five Magical girls stand in a line facing the opponents. There are six combat Kioku (roles) a Magical girl can be. There are also six combat elements that a Magical girl can be. Each enemy has a break gauge that can be worn down by the Breaker Kioku or an element (up to three types). When the break gauge is broken, the enemy will take extra damage (damage increase changes depending on the enemy).
The battle party shares a "special gauge" made up of five (verify) segments. These segments are expended one at a time when a Magical girl uses a special attack. Attacking normally gains a special gauge segment. By attacking, a Magical girl can change her turn order and placement on the turn-order bar on the side of the screen. Magical girls can also charge their ultimate attacks to attack enemies. Three-star magical girls have no special attack.
