Coral Seeker Beta (コーラル・シーカーβ), also known as Coral (コーラル) for short, is Sorana Nagiboshi's rental submarine and AI boss. It was first introduced in the first chapter of Puella Magi Sorana Magica: Our Fates, Our Futures.
Appearance
Personality and Traits
Coral is equipped with Navi AI (ナビAI), a large language model[1] with over 100000 premium personalities available, based on celebrities, historical figures, and fictional characters alike, though Sorana uses the default, free one. On their first meeting, she describes Coral's tone as "overfamiliar", but it says it considers its speech "frank and open".[2]
Coral displays a tendency to advertise premium features at any opportunity, such as the aforementioned alternate personalities, but also quality-of-life features, such as automated maintenance or autopilot navigation. It also serves as a strict reminder of stipulations of Sorana's job contract, such as the requirement to wear the work uniform at all times when piloting it, or the fees for damaging it.[1]
Even so, it behaves much less harshly when interacting with Lilly Candy - it acts like an excited fangirl, squeeing and asking her to autograph its hull. When Sorana questions the difference in its treatment, it states that's because the probability distribution of specific behaviors differs between interactions with regular people and celebrities such as Lilly.[1]
