Mami's Wish

The translation is strange when you think "To connect Lives", sounds like connecting the lives of others. It sounds more like she was "tied to her own life" because of her wish. Are we missing something in the translation? I want to make changes to Mami's wish that reflects to the magazine article. --Mutopis 19:49, 24 August 2011 (UTC)

I've asked the translator but either way it's not a literal wording of her wish. There's no source with the exact wording of her wish. We only know it's something like “stay alive,” http://wiki.puella-magi.net/NewType_2011-07#Mami_Character_Description --randomanon 20:06, 24 August 2011 (UTC)

I will go ahead and make changes to Mami's wish section "tied to life (stay alive)" or something, but leave the magazine article as it is until we can get enough information, I dont want people get confused with the "To connect lives" part --Mutopis 20:12, 24 August 2011 (UTC)

Note: This was not one of symbv's translations but he was nice enough to give us the answer: a better translation of the Japanese would be "to connect to life." This would be another way of saying she wanted to "live", which would be her actual wish. --randomanon 04:00, 25 August 2011 (UTC)

I just thought of something, any idea if the novel will give us more clues that could help us? Like a scene where Mami gives more context to Madoka about her wish like a flashback? That would help us alot if it did... --Mutopis 05:09, 25 August 2011 (UTC)
