What story does Ashita appear in? The store Jun, Mitsune and Mikage frequent in MagiReco is Ashita-ya, which MUT fanTL'd as "Tomorrow Shop" EPF (talk) 17:22, 19 October 2025 (UTC)

Nvm, I found it. Mito's and Seika's MSSs, and whatever "VSイベント_マギレコ1部_1_9章" is. Ashita is never used as a character name, it's always "Ashita's", as in the name of the store, and Grams is stuff like "lady at Ashita's" EPF (talk) 17:29, 19 October 2025 (UTC)

I think it's unlikely, but not impossible, the lady's name is "Ashita". The JP name of the store is "あした屋", spelled with hiragana, so if it is the lady's name, it's her given name. Jisho suggests a given name like that exists, but it's more commonly just "tomorrow". But fiction tends to love punny names. If anything, I think we should go with "lady at Ashita's", rather than "Ashita". And she doesn't have a nametag with her dialogue. EPF (talk) 17:33, 19 October 2025 (UTC)

Also, given she originated in Magia Record, I dunno if we should treat her as an Exedra character... She was a faceless NPC in magireco, but she was recurring, and now she's in two games. She's still a faceless NPC using model 801400, but at least in MagiReco they did give models to some NPCs after their first appearance, like the Satomi brothers... Note: if Ashita's really is the official translation for Tomorrow Shop, that probably explains this confusion. Calling a shop "Ashita's" in English basically means the owner is named Ashita. If that wasn't the intention, I'd have to say the official translation is actually incorrect. So in other words we're told that the elderly woman is definitely the founder? Guess that interpretation doesn't work then. I've no idea how reliable BehindTheName is on stating Ashita to be a masculine name, but if we take that as fact, then it seems to suggest that the official Exedra translation is indeed wrong and the fan-translation is actually correct. Ah, it's like this due to the way it's formatted in Google Docs. In that doc, the lines are like, <charname>: <line>, but as Grams has no nametag, it was left blank. So it just so happened that the line started from a colon. EPF (talk) 18:42, 19 October 2025 (UTC)

Anyhoo, there's a chance either of them could be Ashita. Jisho.org states it's a female given name. Many baby name sites, like this Japanese site, have spelling options for both genders. It does seem to be a name real people have, this site has its ranking in usage (a very low ranking, so probably like one or two kids with that name, and only found in 2 years despite the site having baby name data from 2017 to 2024... Probably a single digit amount of children were given that name in that time. The female version of this name shows as having no records on the site, but the sample size is only 7 years, and I can't find any kind of census data or anything. But again, fiction loves punny names, so a name being fake doesn't prevent it from being used EPF (talk) 19:21, 19 October 2025 (UTC)

Minor feathers

Other than the similarity of their names, is there anything to support the theory that Suzu/Misato from Asuka's side story are the same as Suzucchi/Satobon from Tsukuyo's Christmas story?
