Magia Record 6th Anniversary ARG
On August 18th, 2023, the Magia Record X (Twitter) account posted a link to a webpage on their site: https://6th.anniv.magireco.com/ . Its primary features were a countdown for the game's anniversary, an announcement of an Amazon giftcard campaign and a button to share the campaign on X.
However, the page also contained three clues:
- A code on top of the page, that reads eyJhbGciOiJIUzI1NiIsInR5cCI6IkpXVCJ9
- After base64 decoding, it reads {"alg":"HS256","typ":"JWT"}
- A code in the middle of the page, that reads eyJ1cmwiOiJodHRwczovLzZ0aC5hbm5pdi5tYWdpcmVjby5jb20vc2VjcmV0LyJ9.
- After base64 decoding, it reads {"url":"https://6th.anniv.magireco.com/secret/"}
- A code at the end of the page, that reads [1:][2:][3:][4:][5:][6:][7:][8:][9:][10:][11:][12:][13:][14:][15:][16:][17:][18:][19:][20:][21:][22:][23:][24:][25:][26:][27:][28:][29:][30:][31:][32:][33:][34:][35:][36:][37:][38:][39:][40:]
The X share campaign button randomly picked one of 90 pre-fabricated tweet formulas, which only differed by the featured link. The link contained a simple image featuring one of Magia Record characters[1], the game's logo, the name of campaign, and a code. The codes duplicated between some characters. The codes read:
