Category talk:Exedra Backgrounds

Looks like most of these are probably duplicates of Magia Record backgrounds. Do we really need to have two separate versions of each background uploaded? Though I imagine it would be a huge pain to deduplicate them, especially if they're in different resolutions (I have no idea if they are, but I did click on one at random and MediaWiki didn't note it as a duplicate). ~ Celtic Minstrel (talk) 01:49, 8 April 2025 (UTC)

Yeah, Exedra uses the same illustrations as MagiReco. However, Exedra's are larger and have a different aspect ratio (1744x1024 vs 1024x768, thus about 1:0.59 vs 1:0.75) and are cropped differently, compare https://images.puella-magi.net/4/43/Bg_adv_01_90034_01.png and https://pi.rika.ren/magica/resource/image_native/bg/story/bg_adv_13111.jpg (most notable are the wooden frame on the left and the prism holding balloons on the right). Including one but not the other leads to loss of information. Additionally, it'd be really messy to carry out the cleanup... EPF (talk) 07:11, 8 April 2025 (UTC)
