Kaede Akino reflects on her life. She knows she is a bit too cautious, but some things you just cannot change. She used to be a rookie dragging her team down, but now she has found a little courage deep within.

Kaede fights alongside Momoko and Rena. She hesitates to attack, afraid of hitting her teammates. After the fight, Momoko and Rena encourage her to take more action, but they do not pressure her. Kaede feels useless and cowardly.

Rena and Momoko are going out of town for a concert. Kaede decides to visit the farmer's market where her family's vegetables are being sold.

Kaede goes to the farmer's market. She meets Konomi and Kako. She explains she wanted to see if people were happy with her family's produce.

Kaede remembers how her family loved plants and animals. A notice announced a 38-floor apartment building would be built in front of their house, threatening their garden and sunlight. Kyubey appeared and offered her a wish. Kaede wished for the apartment building to disappear. She made the contract in desperation.

Kaede, Konomi, and Kako sense Familiars. They fight them. More Familiars appear. Kaede calls Mitama for help, but Mitama says other Magical Girls are also overwhelmed. Kaede learns the Familiars are spawning near the farmer's market. She is worried about her vegetables.

Karin arrives to help. They fight through Familiars. Kaede uses her magic to make Familiars disappear temporarily. They reach the market and find a car crash has wrecked it. Kaede is devastated.

Konomi and Kako stay behind to fight Familiars. Kaede and Karin go to fight the Witch.

Kaede and Karin enter the Labyrinth. Kaede makes Familiars disappear to clear a path. They find the Witch. Karin fights Familiars while Kaede faces the Witch alone. The Witch darkens the area, making it impossible to see. Kaede is attacked and cannot counterattack. She remembers the glow stick Rena gave her. She plants it in the Witch's hair, using it to track the Witch's movements. She attacks and defeats the Witch.

After the battle, the Familiars disappear. Mitama congratulates Kaede. Kaede overhears Mitama speaking to someone about a troubling love for Witches. She hangs up, pretending not to hear.

Momoko and Rena arrive, having rushed back after the concert. They are relieved Kaede is unharmed. Kaede tells Rena she used her glow stick to defeat the Witch. Rena is confused. Kaede smiles. She feels she did a pretty good job.
