The Doppel of Transparency.
Its form is an Interrogation Chair.
The master of this emotion feels both pain and satisfaction from her Doppel's form. The main body of this Doppel is not the chair, but an invisible entity that is tortured endlessly while sitting atop it. This transparent Doppel uses its own blood to attack its enemies; however, it is not so easily controlled, and should the visible Doppel emerge from its master's right ear, instead of the invisible one that typically appears from her left ear, it will scream and go on a rampage, swinging its guillotine at allies and enemies alike.

Sana notices that Iroha Tamaki has a keychain for an old puppet show called Mr. Purrs-a-Lot. Sana explains that she's a fan of the show and starts talking about the cast and events. Sana apologizes for talking too much, but Iroha tells her not to worry. Sana starts to worry that her past will just repeat itself, and thinks about how she became a magical girl. Sana narrates that she's her mother's "stepchild". Her actual father has been dead as long as she could remember. Her mother would say that marrying Sana's father was the biggest mistake she ever made. Sana's mother was always strict with her, and would yell at her no matter what. Her current father is a professor at Kamihama University and teaches at its medical school. All he cared about were Sana's grades, which were always poor. He would literally call her a stupid girl and demanded that she get better. Sana also has two step-brothers from her step-father, an older one and a younger one. Her older brother had the highest grades in the country, while her younger brother was athletically talented. Both of her brothers were greatly loved by Sana's mother. One day Sana asked her older brother to help her study. However, her older brother called her stupid as well. Her younger brother says that neither of them have to waste their valuable time on Sana. Eventually, it reached the point where her entire family declared Sana didn't deserve to be part of the Futaba family. Claiming that she tarnished the family name with her actions, Sana's family forbade her from interacting or even seeing them. They told her to send an email if she needed something. Since that day, Sana hasn't said a word to her family, and vice versa. Sana narrates that she had to stay quiet, or else it seemed she would be abandoned completely. Since that day, Sana spent more time outside. She would spend her days wandering aimlessly. One day though she made a friend - a stray cat she named Miss Purrs, after the Mr. Purrs-a-Lot show. Every day she would feed Miss Purrs in a back alley and talk to her. She would do things like ask if Miss Purrs lived in an animal city, like on the show. Sana narrates that she was just living simply because she was too scared to die. Sana wonders if she could live in the animal city, but realizes it doesn't really exist. One day, Miss Purrs vanished. Sana tried to find her and eventually met an old man who ran the store in front of Miss Purrs’ alley. The old man explains he called someone from the health department to take away the stray cats behind his store, and asks Sana to stop feeding them. The old man apologizes when Sana starts crying, but she runs off. As time went on, Sana started to believe Miss Purrs left because she talked to her. One day she thought she saw Miss Purrs but found nothing. Unbeknownst to Sana, it was actually Kyubey. Sana narrates she never saw Miss Purrs again. After Miss Purrs disappeared, Sana decided to simply stay at school after class. One day, she met a student from her class who liked her Mr. Purrs-a-Lot keychain. Sana was happy to make a friend, especially since the student was also lonely like her. One day, Sana was bullied by some other students, who took her keychain. Sana looked to her friend for help, but her friend did nothing. That day, Sana just stopped going to school. She called her friend once, and after an awkward conversation Sana cut off all contact. Sana has no hard feelings, believing the student was scared as well. That was when she met Kyubey. When Kyubey made his offer, Sana didn't even think about making wishes to fix her family or make friends. After all, she was betrayed by those people. Sana initially asks to be taken to the animal city where Mr. Purrs-a-Lot lives, but then just says to make her invisible. Sana explains she just wants to disappear from the world, as she believes herself worthless. Back in the present, Iroha notices Sana spacing out and asks her what's wrong. Sana narrates that until she met Iroha, she lived by herself. Since normal people couldn't see her she stopped going to home or school, not wanting to deal with the world around. She thinks about what she would do if she hadn't met Iroha, but is interrupted by Iroha talking about Mr. Purrs-a-Lot. Sana mentally thanks Iroha for finding her and is glad she wasn't alone forever. |

One day Iroha arrived home to find Sana looking over a large pile of persimmons. Sana explains that Yachiyo Nanami receives a lot of astringent persimmons from her neighbors every year but was too busy at a photoshoot to make use of them until later. Since Sana has nothing better to do while at home alone, she decided to try her hand at making dried persimmons herself. Iroha offers to help and between the two of them they’re able to peel them, tie the stems with string, then wash and hang them up to dry. The two decided to check on the fruit everyday to make sure there’s no mold as the fruit dries. Yachiyo notices how they bring the fruit inside everyday in order to avoid the night dew and prevent the fruit from molding. She warns them to be careful of large birds that will aim straight for the dried persimmons if they’re not careful. After that, Sana increased the security around the dried persimmons. However, despite her increased precautions, several of the persimmons kept disappearing during the day and night and it seems that the bird nets were useless against these big birds. One late night, Tsuruno Yui and Felicia Mitsuki had snuck downstairs to sneak off some of the persimmons. As they prepare to grab a bunch, the kitchen lights suddenly come on and Sana stands facing them, already transformed. She warned them that she won’t forgive them as both Tsuruno and Felicia cry out for mercy. Soon those two “birds” learned to leave the dried persimmons alone even if they truly believed that eating them secretly made them that much tastier.
Sana has come to the beach to play with Iroha and company. Iroha takes a break from swimming and asks if Sana has swam already. Sana says she's taking a break herself. As the girls relax, Iroha remembers something and helps Sana make something in the sand. Sana recognizes it as "Gorogoro" from the show she likes. Sana proceeds to monologue about the show internally. Iroha asks her why she's staring. Sana says it's because it's amazing and asks if Iroha is a "Gorotor", a creator of the show. Iroha is confused. Sana decide to make a sand version of "Gorogoro"'s friend "Wonderful", which Iroha recognizes. Iroha remembers there was an episode where the characters were in a beach volleyball tournament, but couldn't win first place. Sana makes another character that appeared in the episode, and Iroha says she's making them fast. Sana then proceeds to make objects and locations from the episode. An hour later, Iroha asks Sana to stop, pointing out that she filled the entire area with characters. People come by and wonder if there's a live performance going on. An embarrassed Sana flees into the ocean. Iroha takes a picture of the art. Sana narrates that when it comes to "Gorogoro" she gets so excited, and wants to try doing it again.
Iroha and Tsuruno Yui are hanging out downstairs in their pajamas. Iroha is telling Tsuruno about how Ui Tamaki is staying with her parents a few days so they can all spend time together as a family. Yachiyo Nanami shows up in her pajamas carrying a large bag. When they ask what’s in the bag, Yachiyo explains her modeling agency had a big end of year photoshoot while wearing New Year’s kimonos and she was able to buy several of them for cheap afterwards. She calls down Felicia Mitsuki and Sana and presents each of them with their own New Year’s kimonos. Both Felicia and Sana are amazed at the beautiful garments and Yachiyo suggests they all go for a walk together once they get dressed. The group takes a walk outside. Sana thinks the kimono that Yachiyo picked out for her fits perfectly whereas Felicia is too busy whining about how hard it is to walk in the zori, or wooden sandals. Sana doesn’t find it to be so difficult so Yachiyo asks them to hold on just a bit longer. Even though her feet and legs were beginning to ache, Sana didn’t say anything since she believed the discomfort was worth it to be able to hang out with everyone in kimonos. After their walk out, the trio head home and Yachiyo suggests they take off their kimonos, but Felicia doesn’t want to. Yachiyo says they should for now since Sana isn’t so comfortable in hers. She looks at Sana who remains quiet. Yachiyo asks Sana if her legs aren’t hurting but Sana is reluctant to admit it. Yachiyo reminds her they’re like a family now, so it’s okay for her to speak up her mind once in a while and let them all know how she’s feeling. Sana looks up and says she wants to keep wearing her kimono alongside everyone. Yachiyo smiles and says they can wear their kimonos for the rest of the day if she wants, and she’ll even let them stay up a bit late too. Tsuruno and Felicia are shocked at how lenient Yachiyo is being for once. The next morning, Sana thinks back on all the fun they had while wearing kimonos for a day. She thinks that maybe it was okay to be selfish just this once. When Yachiyo greets her good morning, Sana decides to be selfish just one more time and asks Yachiyo if she wouldn’t mind helping her get dressed into her kimono again. Yachiyo smiles and tells her how happy she is that she liked the outfit so much.
Sana has a nightmare in which Iroha, Yachiyo and Tsuruno say they hate her and say goodbye to her. Sana cries and she again thinks about wishing to disappear, but at that moment she feels a warm hand stroking her hair. Sana wakes up and realizes that she is in her pajamas at the Mikazuki Villa. Felicia says that Sana has woken up. Sana realizes that Felicia was the one stroking her head, and she explains that she tried to wake her up that way because Yachiyo asked her to go wake Sana up so that she wouldn't get a cold from sleeping in the living room without covering with sheets. Felicia didn't she want Yachiyo to make Sana use a heater under her pajamas. Sana starts to cry and hugs Felicia, who asks her what's happening and why she started crying. Felicia begins to stroke Sana's hair again and tells her that it is a spell that her mother used to tell her, asking if Sana has nightmares, assuring that every time she had a nightmare her mother stroke her like that to calm her down. Felicia says that seeing Sana sad makes her feel bad, but then she says that she doesn't want Yachiyo to think of her as treating Sana badly. Felicia later tells Sana about a nightmare she usually has in which giant vegetables fight against a cow, and after killing the cow the vegetables went against her and at that moment a demon Yachiyo appears that prevents her from fleeing, but Sana asks her how Yachiyo appeared in her dream if she didn't already know her, and Felicia agrees with Sana and says that her dreams are strange because they mix with her memories and change. Sana tells Felicia about her nightmare but she no longer remembers it, only that Yachiyo and the others were there and she was very scary. Sana thanks Felicia for casting her spell and Felicia says that Sana will no longer have to deal with "Demon Yachiyo", but unbeknownst to her, Yachiyo was behind the two and asks Felicia who she calls a demon, as Felicia screams in fear.
Upon waking up, Yachiyo and Felicia find Sana lying on the floor, who is almost immediately assumed dead by Felicia. Sana is unresponsive to their attempts of waking her, but she is breathing just fine. Confused, the two pick up Sana and place her on the couch. They soon discover some notes on the coffee table, describing something small and fluffy, while having a cute, but intimidating appearance, and a distinguishing pointed feature, either being a horn or a beak. Felicia believes that whatever this is, must be the prime suspect. Sana, despite being lethargic, overhears everything, and begins to worry for the two, as she just fell asleep on the floor after pulling an all-nighter of brainstorming for her picture book. With examination on the noted details, Felicia realizes that it’s referring to ‘The Cattle Fiend’, which was a toy she and Ui made from a milk carton, though she still believes that the carton somehow attacked Sana. Before Yachiyo could stop her, she rushes upstairs to get Iroha and Ui. At that moment, Sana finally sits up, just as everyone crowds around her, causing her get embarrassed and apologize for the misunderstanding. After explaining her situation, and how she fell asleep trying to get back to her room, hence why she ended up on the floor, Felicia shifts the blame of freaking out onto Yachiyo. Everyone is relieved that things were fine after all, though Yachiyo encourages Sana to take better care of herself, as it really gave her a fright. Sana smiles and thanks them for their concern, giggling softly. |
