The Doppel of Corrosion.
Its form is a Giant Snake.
The master of this emotion is tied down by the ideal image that she desperately attempts to reach, in order to become closer to the mother that she admires, and sees a reflection of this in her Doppel’s form. The Doppel grows from its master’s limbs and is entwined with her nervous system, thus robbing her of the ability to move. When it senses someone experiencing mental pressure with its keen sense of smell, it bites them and begins to corrode them with its venom. None can escape from the venom, but they will forever be free from the pressure that was upon them. Having thus witnessed the very destruction and slaughter that she abhors, its master becomes even more tightly bound by the curse that surrounds her, but the Doppel will never realize this.

Doppel Description

| **Unique to Toyo** Because I've never seen anything like it, because it's so out of the ordinary... If you're evasive about something like that... if you're anxious or if you're sad Never underestimate the value of being here. I believe that everyone was born with a blessing. | 見たことがないから、普通とは違うから…
そんなことで忌避されて…不安になったり、悲しんだりしても ここにいるという価値を貶めることはなかった 誰もが皆、祝福に包まれて産声を上げたのだと信じるために |

Side Story
| Toyo's Side Story |
|---|
|
Toyo is introduced as the successor candidate to Himiko, but the villagers are skeptical, believing her to be the child of a cursed god. Himiko defends Toyo, explaining that her abilities come from a divine blessing, not a curse. Toyo struggles to connect with Himiko, her mother, as their relationship is strained due to years of separation. Despite Himiko's attempts to encourage Toyo to call her "Mama," Toyo remains hesitant, leading to awkward interactions. Momoko, Rena, and Kaede suggest giving Himiko a gift to help bridge the gap between them. Toyo decides to give Himiko a gift but chooses poorly, presenting her with cicada shells stuck in bamboo shoots. The gift confuses Himiko, so Momoko encourages her to try again, suggesting they find a dog, as keeping pets is a trend among nobles. Toyo uses her Spirit Arts to locate a dog but instead finds a strange dog she names "Slurpy." Despite the others' doubts about its species, Toyo insists it's a dog and tries to present it to Himiko. Himiko, however, refuses to let Toyo keep the creature, deeming it too mysterious and potentially dangerous. Toyo grows attached to Slurpy and, despite the villagers' fear and rejection of the creature, decides she wants to keep him. She pleads with Himiko, promising to take full responsibility for Slurpy's care. With the support of Momoko, Rena, and Kaede, Himiko reluctantly agrees, allowing Toyo to keep Slurpy. Toyo and Slurpy quickly become close, however, the original goal of improving Toyo's relationship with Himiko is momentarily forgotten as Toyo focuses on her new companion. Toyo is busy cleaning and helping villagers with her Spirit Arts, using her knowledge to purify wounds and offer medical advice. Slurpy helps her with her tasks, even tearing up linen to assist with wound care. Though Slurpy's behavior is chaotic, Toyo appreciates his help and sees him as a valuable companion. The others discuss how Slurpy has made Toyo's workload easier, though they still need to train him better. Toyo overworks herself, staying up late and waking early to complete her duties. Despite her exhaustion, she insists on continuing her work, even as her friends express concern for her health. Slurpy remains by her side, and later leads the group to a pond filled with fish, which he helps catch. Toyo and her friends enjoy a meal together, and Toyo expresses her happiness at spending time with everyone. They plan future outings, including a trip to the ocean, though Toyo regrets that Slurpy can't join them. Toyo's health begins to deteriorate, and she collapses while playing with Slurpy. Her friends worry about her, but Toyo brushes off their concerns, insisting she's fine. Himiko arrives to check on Toyo, noticing her exhaustion and Slurpy's loyalty. She scolds Toyo for overworking herself, and she promises to be more careful but still fulfill her duties. Toyo apologizes to Slurpy for not being able to play with him as much as she'd like, blaming her illness for her inability to move. Toyo's health continues to worsen, and she struggles to move or perform daily tasks. Slurpy stays by her side, but Toyo feels guilty for burdening her friends and Slurpy, apologizing for not being able to play or take care of him properly. She worries that Slurpy would be happier with a stronger owner. Himiko decides that Slurpy must be sent away, believing that dogs carry a curse that could harm Toyo. Despite protests from Momoko, Rena, and Kaede, Himiko insists that Slurpy poses a risk to Toyo's health. Toyo reluctantly agrees to part with Slurpy, believing it's for his own good. Toyo and Slurpy share one last playful run together, though Toyo's condition makes it difficult for her to keep up. She apologizes to Slurpy for not being able to run with him as she used to and urges him to forget about her and live a happy life elsewhere. Despite her words, Slurpy stays by her side, wagging his tail and refusing to leave. After parting ways with Slurpy, Toyo reflects on their time together and the memories they made. A long time afterwards, during summer, Toyo hears a familiar bark and runs to see Slurpy again. Without using her power of summoning, the two reunite together again. |
