Japanese

Do we need the Japanese versions? I'd understand keeping them separate if they were fan translated but we get official translations. - TheresaFrog421 (talk) 16:15, 25 August 2026 (UTC)

I've been just following what was in this page before I took my eyes on it, and it looks like It was already like this for MagiRepo, so I'm not surprised that EPF just did the same thing here. And sure, they don't have official translations after the 60th? (I think), but as you can check all of the raws were uploaded, including those before the 60th. Although I must say that in MagiRepo's case they are more hidden. Are you suggesting doing the same thing for MagiRepo too? ImperviousCover (talk) 08:02, 26 August 2026 (UTC)
About Magirepo, I think the main page can have all of the pages just like Etc does right now, and for magirepo translations... I do think it would be better to use the officially translated ones over their jp vers, even when most of Magirepo will stay untranslated because the translations are cut off. I do kinda see a problem because all the pages have JP in their file names, and yeah just changing it to EN would be easy, it would probably throw the sorting off as the JP comes before the Season or episode number. Also about filenames, should we change all the Etc filenames? Right now they all start with 'Ready Set Exedra', obviously because that's what the manga was called at first, but it isnt now so it feels weird. And the numbers too, we have reached ep 100, so I think it would be better to write the number always with 3 digits so like 001, 020, 100, that would help sorting as if you go into the category page it starts with page 1 and then goes to 10 T^T. And I kinda doubt we're reaching 1000 episodes, I think that would take 18 years. - TheresaFrog421 (talk) 10:04, 26 August 2026 (UTC)
I see that you added all the raws to the MagiRepo article, which makes me thing you don't want to delete them too either, so I will take a "No" as the answer to my original question. I think we could just add a way smaller English section with the official translations. I don't really have a problem with renaming the files to whatever we think is fit. For here, we could indeed change all filenames from the old "Ready Set Exedra" to "Magia Et Cetera". No idea how we are going to differenciate them though (adding _EN and/or _JP at the end?). And yes, we could change its numbering to three digits instead of just 2. And nah, Exedra will not live for 18 years. ImperviousCover (talk) 09:10, 28 August 2026 (UTC)
So it's a no to deleting the JP Magia Et Cetera pages? - TheresaFrog421 (talk) 10:20, 28 August 2026 (UTC)
There appears to be some confusion here... Yes, I, as the person who uploaded the majority of the images, didn't want them to be deleted, and I put the existance of all the MagiRepo raws as proof of something very similar already in the wiki (and not deleted). That's when I said that if we want to be coherent we either remove both or none. And then I said that after checking that you brought them from the obscurity of the character gallery pages to their actual page, that you are ok with them.
So I guess we agree here? If we do, we could talk about the specifics of renaming the files. ImperviousCover (talk) 14:02, 28 August 2026 (UTC)
Okay let's keep them then, and for naming I think the best idea is Magia Et Cetera - ### - EN/JP.jpg. This keeps the sorting correct and if they stop being translated then it wont be messed up as the language indicator is at the end, after the number. - TheresaFrog421 (talk) 14:08, 28 August 2026 (UTC)
Alright, I'll make the changes now. EDIT: It appears I do not have the permissions to disable the creation of a redirect with the old name. Either someone give it to me or someone else has to do it. ImperviousCover (talk) 14:17, 28 August 2026 (UTC)
I think only admins have that, as annoying as it is I just suggest putting the created redirects under Category:Deletion requests so they're deleted later. - TheresaFrog421 (talk) 14:49, 28 August 2026 (UTC)
I suppose only sysops have that option because having the delete right already gives you the delete-redirect right. However, they are separated and can be given separately. And talking about the Deletion requests, there is not even a {{delete}} (or {{db}}, as it is called in Wikipedia) template that could not only automatically add the category but also display a message explaining why it should be removed... Yes, this is going to need some time. ImperviousCover (talk) 15:05, 28 August 2026 (UTC)
Redirects show up in categories as italicized, and obviously with the File: namespace, so I think in this case it will be obvious why it wants to be deleted. - TheresaFrog421 (talk) 15:09, 28 August 2026 (UTC)
Should be done. I fucked up File:Magia Et Cetera - 021 - JP.jpg (It is actually the 20, but now I can't move the actual 21 to that name without a sysop deleting the page and freeing the name), but everything else should be good. ImperviousCover (talk) 16:36, 28 August 2026 (UTC)
Did #21 get fixed already or do I need to do something? ~ Celtic Minstrel (talk) 05:46, 29 August 2026 (UTC)
No, it looks like TheresaFrog managed to fix it. ImperviousCover (talk) 14:17, 29 August 2026 (UTC)

Title

It seems like the star is only present in the JP title of the manga, see here and the browser tab title. We don't keep the star for any other title: Madoka Engawa, Magia Record: Puella Magi Madoka Magica Side Story, etc. EPF (talk) 15:05, 2 September 2026 (UTC) Nvm, our title is The Veranda of Madoka, not Madoka Engawa, my bad. EPF (talk) 15:05, 2 September 2026 (UTC)

I mean yeah but we have Scene 0 stylized the jp way (scene0) and Magia Report has a star too. Not that I'm disagreeing cause it would be more proper to not have the star but this isn't the only case of jp stylized titles. - TheresaFrog421 (talk) 16:03, 2 September 2026 (UTC)
