There seems to be some confusion over the name of San's school and the festival. From what I understand, they're supposed to share a name, but here on the wiki, one is called "Mitsuzuka" while the other is "Hikarizuka". I also noticed the inconsistency in fan translations of Dependence Blue – the video version I watched uses "Mitsuzuka" but the translation document uses "Hikarizuka". In fact, it was there that I originally noticed it, before spotting that her school was listed as "Hikarizuka". ~ Celtic Minstrel (talk) 00:13, 2 May 2022 (UTC)
- Okay, I see someone edited it be "Hikarizuka", which is fine. I do wonder where people got the "Mitsu" from in the first place though… ~ Celtic Minstrel (talk) 23:30, 3 May 2022 (UTC)
- Just noting that it was also discussed here, in case anyone is wondering why it was decided that Hikarizuka is indeed the correct name. ~ Celtic Minstrel (talk) 23:13, 30 October 2025 (UTC)
- So, Hikarizuka was iirc first mentioned in Dependence Blue, which is unvoiced, and it wasn't an "important" thing to clarify the pronunciation of the way character names are clarified in Main Story. The spelling is 光塚. If you look at Jisho's search, there are no direct hits, but in the "Names" section, you have two family name readings - Mitsutsuka and Mitsudzuka (dz is also commonly romanized as z, like in Mikazuki Villa). With no further context, any guess is as likely, so early translations went with that. The pronounciation was clarified later on, likely (but I'm not sure) with San's release, as her voicelines do mention that location... And she pronounced it as Hikarizuka. Older sources probably just weren't corrected. Another example would be Hebinomiya vs Janomiya. EPF (talk) 06:18, 31 October 2025 (UTC)
