Ui Tamaki reflects on her life. She wanted to save Magical Girls and her sister. But in the end, it was her sister who saved her once again. Thanks to her sister, she was able to see where she went wrong.

Ui is temporarily discharged from the hospital. She says goodbye to Touka and Nemu. She is happy to be home with her family. But she knows her illness is not cured, and she cannot do much.

Ui notices a girl next door, Koharu. They communicate through drawings in their windows. They finally start talking and become friends. Koharu confesses she struggles at school because she never knows what to say. Ui listens to her troubles.

Ui remembers how she became friends with Touka and Nemu in hospital school. She tells Koharu to use her drawing skills to make friends. Koharu tries it and succeeds. She becomes more confident and starts coming home later.

Ui feels happy for Koharu but also sad. Koharu is moving forward while Ui is stuck. Ui has a health attack and is sent back to the hospital. She is despondent. Koharu sends her a letter apologizing and thanking Ui for giving her courage. Ui realizes she was able to help someone.

Ui writes back. She apologizes for being cold and says hearing about Koharu's school life made her happy. She draws a picture of them talking and says she cannot wait to do it again. They continue exchanging letters and drawings.

Ui's health improves. She is told she will be discharged soon. But then she discovers Iroha is a Magical Girl fighting dangerous battles. Ui, Touka, and Nemu decide to become Magical Girls to save Iroha and all Magical Girls. Ui wishes for the power to harvest, Touka wishes for the power to convert, and Nemu wishes for the power to manifest. They take these powers from Kyubey.
