Summary
This is a flashback episode that reveals Homura's origin and events that took place in previous timelines.

- Madoka0 and Mami0 become magical girls
- Homura0 joins their school as a transfer student
- Madoka0 and Mami0 get killed by Walpurga0
- Homura0 makes a contract for time-travel powers

Timeline 2
- Homura0 wakes up to find herself in the past as a magical girl
- Homura0 immediately runs up to Madoka1 and announces her magical girl status in the middle of class
- Homura0 fights witches as a magical girl with Madoka1 and Mami1
- After fighting Walpurga1, Madoka1 becomes a witch
- Homura0 performs a Time Leap
Timeline 3
- Homura0 stocks up on guns by stealing from the Yakuza
- Madoka2, Sayaka2, Mami2, and Kyouko2 become magical girls
- Sayaka2 turns into a witch
- Homura0, fighting in a team with the other girls, kills Sayaka2
- Mami2 goes insane when she realizes they'll all turn into witches

- Walpurga2 wounds Madoka2 and Homura0, leaving them in danger of becoming witches, with corrupted soul gems

- Homura0 mercy-kills Madoka2 to prevent her transformation into a witch

Speculations and Observations
- This time, the only change spotted in the opening animation was the addition of Homura and Kyouko to the group shot. The opening animation has been used as the ending sequence. (this episode has no proper opening)
- The calendar in Homura's room shows that she's getting discharged from the hospital on the 16th and returns to school on the 25th. From the format of the calendar, the 25th is apparently a Friday. The only month in 2011 that has 31 days and the 25th falling on a Friday is March. This means that the anime is set during the same time the final episode will be airing.
