I just read the first volume (well, not reading so much as skimming because I can't read Japanese) and it seems like the first volume is basically the third drama CD. However, there are quite a few extra plot points and extra details included, such as Mami running into two other magical girls, seeing how Kyoko's father discovered she was a magical girl, what happened after Kyoko's father discovered said fact but before he slaughtered the family, and a bunch of Mami/Kyoko scenes.
