Catherine d'Arc is a supporting character in Puella Magi Tart Magica: The Legend of "Jeanne d'Arc". She is Tart's younger sister and a potential magical girl.

Personality
Catherine is much more carefree than her sister and less cautious, shown by her eagerly following a Familiar into its Witch's wards. Tart also describes her as a tomboy, shown by her eagerness to learn how to fight.
Story
Catherine, along with her sister Jeanne (who she calls Jeanette), were caught in a witch's labyrinth. While Catherine fainted, Jeanne did her best to protect her until she was saved by Riz Hawkwood. After, Jeanne (now called Tart) learns she has the potential to become a Magical Girl. Soon after, both Tart and Catherine begin to practice with swords due to Cube mentioning Catherine may make a good Magical Girl in the future.
For a total of three years, Riz and Cube stay with Catherine and her family. However, when they leave, Domrémy is attacked and a soldier nearly kills Tart. However, Catherine uses her sword skills to kill the soldier. As Catherine turns around to check on her sister, she is stabbed through the heart and killed.
Riz and Cube return after the village has been ransacked, the soldiers leaving Tart alive since they already found everything they needed. Tart begins to beg Cube to make her a Magical Girl to bring her sister back to life, but Cube warns that such a wish will not guarantee her future safety. With this information, Tart makes the decision to become a magical girl and bring light to France as she symbolically cuts her braid. Tart becomes a Magical Girl. Tart, Riz and Cube leave the town soon after Catherine's funeral, Tart setting her cut hair on Catherine's grave. Riz tells her not to worry, the background showing that she has killed the people who ransacked Domrémy.
Together, the three of them set off to meet with the king of France, Charles de Valois.
Powers and Abilities
Catherine is skilled with a sword, more capable of learning it than Tart. Cube describes her as a possible candidate for becoming a Magical Girl in the future.
Etymology
Catherine is derived from the Greek word "καθαρός" (Katharos), which means "pure".
