Talk:Miyuri Yukari

) at the end of your comment.Miyuri's age is listed as 15 based off dialogue from Pax Romana, but Miyuri's dialogue there is pretty ambiguous, being "They seem a lot younger than me, but they’re really smart…". If she's actually 15 her assumption they're much younger is wrong as they'd just be months apart in age, as they're 15. The live2d models aren't totally reliable when it comes to height, but Cornelia and Amaryllis are shown around the same height or slightly shorter respectively than Shigure, so its possible she just assumed them to be 13 or younger. - I'd also point out that the average height in modern Japan and ancient Rome probably don't line up. I've seen a lot of anime or manga where a Japanese person is mistaken for a child simply because they're short. It sounds like it's the reverse situation in this case though, with Miyuri assuming that Cornelia and Amaryllis are younger? So it seems to me that her assumption is more likely to be correct than not. ~ Celtic Minstrel (talk) 04:37, 12 August 2024 (UTC)
- Yes, Miyuri assumes they're younger, and a lot younger at that. But the problem is Miyuri cannot be older than 15, as she's confirmed to be in middle school. But both Amaryllis and Cornelia are indirectly confirmed to be 15 years old. It isn't possible for there to be a big age gap, only a few months difference. Also complicating judging off the live2d models Himena will comment on Cornelia growing over the years, but her and Amaryllis's models remains static so it could also be the case they were actually even shorter than their models make it look when they first meet. - Ah, that's right, we see those two over a period of about four years, if I recall correctly. What's the confirmation of them being 15? What year were they 15 in? If they were 15 in the year of the eruption, but Miyuri's comment was upon first meeting them, then I think that makes it all fit together. ~ Celtic Minstrel (talk) 01:45, 13 August 2024 (UTC)
- The confirmation was they were mentioned to have been born shortly after an earthquake in 62 AD, and also mentioned that they were born in the summer. The earthquake happened in February. Miyuri's comment on their age was when they first met in 77 AD, two and a half years before the eruption. Rani (talk) 11:34, 13 August 2024 (UTC)
- So that doesn't work, then - they were supposed to be 15 when they first met. So Miyuri was just wrong, and they probably looked younger to her than they actually were. ~ Celtic Minstrel (talk) 12:29, 13 August 2024 (UTC)
- Even if they were actually just going to turn 15 soon and not already 15, Miyuri being 15 based off that assumption seems a little off because Magia Record has had characters assume age wrong multiple times. Iroha assumed Nayuta and Oriko were older than her and Rena assumed Mami was a college student only to both be off completely. Rani (talk) 02:47, 14 August 2024 (UTC)

Where is Miyuri exactly confirmed to be a middle schooler? The main page claims it's in her personal story, but I got nothing Ctrl+F-ing through the MUT Google Doc using keywords like "school", "student", "middle". If it's about her school (Takarazaki Municipal Hikarizuka Middle Educational School), then that's wrong too - it being called is a mistranslation, it's actually a two-in-one kind of deal with middle and high school, as I outlined in Talk:Schools#Hikarizuka's name?. Sources_for_Character_Ages_in_Magia_Record#Miyuri_Yukari is also worth mentioning. EPF (talk) 13:30, 14 August 2024 (UTC)
- It's actually from the Neo-Magius branch of Rainbow Colored Summer. Miyuri asks if they've finished their summer homework, Himena and Shigure say no, and Sasha comments on "the trials of being a middle schooler". Shortly after Miyuri, Himena, and Shigure mention they still believe in Santa, San asks why Sasha is encouraging their antics and answers because they still believe in Santa, while Hagumu comments that she believed in Santa up until middle school too. And if San / Rui's age listing of 16 is correct there's that too, since both say Miyuri is younger. Rani (talk) 20:57, 14 August 2024 (UTC)
