Talk:Yu
~~~~) at the end of your comment.I set Yu and Shi's release date to be 2024 since we don't know that it will be April for sure. 2024 seems highly likely for their release which is why I left it at 2024. Amaterasu (talk) 11:55, 8 April 2024 (UTC)
summary: 記憶と人格を喪失してしまった虚ろな魔法少女。 悪意はまったく持たないものの、倫理観が欠如しており、一線を越えることにためらいがない。 精神に作用する魔法の影響でポジティブな思考をしている。
Character Pages
Yu's character page is much more complete than other characters' from Magia Record. I'd like to also add them to the other characters and to make them all make sense and be cohesive. Here's the layout I'm proposing for every character, but I'd like to not. I'll start working on them one by one:
- General Info
- Game Info
- Summary
- Doppel Description
- Personality
- Backstory
- Appearances
- Event Appearances
- History (New section that details what happens to the character throughout the story. Alternatively named after the section in which they appear, like ==Magia Record=== or Exedra, etc.)
- Powers and Abilities
- Etymology
- Trivia
- Gallery
- Memoria Cards
- External links
However, I also have some other sections that I want to ask where I should place. Like their quotes from Magia Record main screen, ID number, upgrade materials and magia archive profile information. But I don't know where the best placement of these would be. I wouldn't want to start unless I have permission. I'd start with Mikoto and then other characters I know well. - Hmm, I think quotes could possibly go in Summary or maybe personality. ID goes in the infobox (it's already there for Yu, at least). Upgrade materials would go under game info. I don't know what you mean by "magia archive profile information". Is it some fixed format or is it just a mix of trivia facts about the character? ~ Celtic Minstrel (talk) 12:07, 4 August 2025 (UTC)
- The magia archive information is just what the notes on the Magia Archives say about the character. It can be comparable to "design notes" Sweet Beanie (talk) 12:51, 4 August 2025 (UTC)
- I think you should split the text in the History-Magia Record by events, it would make the appearances section not needed and just help navigation through the section. Also backstory could go into the history section, some pages already have it like that (Kazumi has it before her In Kazumi Magica section). - TheresaFrog421 (talk) 18:21, 4 August 2025 (UTC)
- Just noticed you did the event split thing before I finished typing this lol. - TheresaFrog421 (talk) 18:23, 4 August 2025 (UTC)
- Yeah, I think I'm done with Yu's page. I may do some touch-ups later but that's it for now. I won't include Side Stories for other characters unless they're implemented in important ways (Yu and Shi's side stories were implemented from the shop so it feels natural to include them in Nagisa's page for example) or it's the character's own side story, or maybe when there's a general agreement that they can't be skipped for the character's development (I can't think of any right now). Magia Archive Section Test
Please let me know what you think. This is Machine translated. Maybe it'll be better to have these be in the actual Magia Archive pages and then we'll leave a link to it for the character pages? But is this format good, or will a table be better, or will some other thing with less titles somehow?
Her body and soul are filled with medical instruments, and she's especially skilled at dental treatment. She often behaves erratically in ways no one has seen before, and she plays music boxes by letting her companions hear the gears turning inside her. When Yu rides her, she becomes like a hobby horse, bringing eerie and mechanical life to a once-magical image. Middle Section (Annotated Sketches and Concepts)These are all detailed design notes, labeled by part or concept. Highlights include:
Bottom-Left COMMENT BoxThis section is a design commentary from the artist: As someone who likes characters like Yu and Clara Beast (idk where this came from), designing Yu was extremely fun in many ways. The theme of gears was very interesting, and I wanted to make her feel eerie—like something not of this world. The mechanical motif felt strong, so I wanted to emphasize that further with cyborg-like elements and a prosthetic arm. I also deliberately made her face look different from the front and the side. Right Page – Doppel DescriptionThis Doppel embodies a distorted ego that runs from reality. Each time it is summoned, its rider’s appearance seems to belong to a dream or a fairy tale. However, the magical girl who rides it is unstable at her core and stuck in a constant state of escapism. As a result, she cannot even confront the reality before her. She clings to the belief that only her world is correct. The Doppel, which rampages within her own subjective reality, lashes out even at unseen others. Eventually, she heads toward a self-destructive end that no one else can follow. |
