Kyousuke sits on a raised bed. Sayaka sits beside him on the chair for the caretaker.		ベッドをリクライニングさせて座っている恭介と、介添用の椅子に腰掛けているさやか。
Sayaka:	For you.	さやか「はい、これ」
The visiting Sayaka hands a violin CD to Kyousuke. Kyousuke's eyes widen in surprise.		見舞いに来たさやかから、ヴァイオリンのCDを手渡される恭介。驚きに目を見開く。
Kyousuke:	Wow, amazing... This one is out-of-print! You can't even find this online anymore!	恭介「うわ、凄い...これネットでも手に入らない廃盤だよ!」
Sayaka::	R-Really...? I saw it at the store on the way home, so I bought it.	さやか「そ、そうなんだ...たまたま寄ったお店で見かけたんで、買ってみたんだけど」
CDs are piled on his bedside desk. Sayaka has brought all of them.		ベッドサイドのテーブルには、他にもCDのケースが積み上げられている。すべてさやかが買ってきたものである。
Kyousuke:	Thanks for all you've done. You're a genius when it comes to finding rare CDs.	恭介「いつも、本当にありがとう。さやかはレアなCDを見つける天才だね」
Sayaka:	Haha, not really... I'm probably just lucky is all.	さやか「はは、そんな...う、運がいいだけだよ。きっと」
Sayaka stammers in embarrassment.		照れてはにかむさやか。
Immediately, Kyousuke opens the case and inserts the CD into his CD player.		恭介はさっそくケースを開けて、CDをポータブルプレーヤーにセットする。
Kyousuke:	This artist's performances really are incredible. Do you want to listen too, Sayaka?	恭介「この人の演奏は、本当に凄いんだ。さやかも聴いてみる?」
Kyousuke puts in an earbud and hands the other to Sayaka.		ヘッドホンの片方だけを嵌めて、もう一方をさやかに差し出す恭介。
Sayaka:	A-Are you sure...?	さやか「ぃ、いいのかな...」
Kyousuke:	I'd really like to have you hear it from the speakers, but we're in a hospital, so...	恭介「本当はスピーカーで聴かせたいんだけど、病院だしね」
Sayaka leans closer to reach the short headset. Even closer now, her embarrassment is overwhelming.		コードの長さの都合で、やや身を寄せ合う姿勢になるこ人。内心で照れまくるさやか。
The music starts. Its gentle melody helps to calm her racing heart.		だが曲が始まると、優しい旋律に心が和まされる。
Sayaka indulges in the gentle melody.		優しい旋律に浸るさやか。

Memory from Sayaka's childhood.		さやか幼少期の記憶。
Kyousuke looks dashing at his violin recital. Sayaka watches him, completely mesmerized.		ヴァイオリンの発表会で颯爽と演奏をしている恭介と、その姿に目を奪われているさやか。

Sayaka opens her eyes. She sees Kyousuke quietly weeping besides her.		ふと目を開けるさやか。隣で恭介が静かに泣いているのに気付く。
Kyousuke's left arm grips lifelessly at his bed. The surgery scars look appalling.		ベッドの上でカなく投げ出された恭介の左腕。無惨な手術跡。
His fingers tremble in memory, never to play again.		もう二度と演奏のできなくなった指が、演奏の記憶を迪って震えている。
These dreadful thoughts make Sayaka's chest hurt.		やるせない想いに、胸が痛くなるきゃか。

Park - Night (Barrier)

Night - Park (Barrier)		夜の公園(異界化中)
Mami fire Ultimate Shoot.		魔砲からアルティマシュートを放つマミ。
A direct hit. The familiar disappears with a scream.		直撃をくらい、悲鳴を上げて消滅していく使い魔。
Madoka and Sayaka watch on from the sidelines with bated breath.		それを固唾を呑んで見守るまどかとさやか。
The Barrier dissipates and the surrounding returns to normal - a park. Mami untransforms. Both bystanders breathe sighs of relief.		結界は解かれ、周囲はもとの公園の景色に戻る。マミも変身を解除。ほっと安堵するギャラリー二人。
Sayaka:	Man, you're so cool, Mami-san.	さやか「やっぱマミさんつてカツコいいね~」
Mami:	This isn't a magic show, you know. Don't forget that what we're doing is dangerous.	マミ「もう。見せ物じゃないのよ。危ないことしてる、って意識は忘れないでおいてほしいわ」
Sayaka:	Yes~!	さやか「いえーす」
Sayaka raises the bat she brought for self-defense.		手にした護身用パットを掲げ上げるさやか。
Sayaka:	It didn't drop a Grief Seed.	まどか「グリーフシード、落とさなかったね」
Kyubey:	That's because it was just a familiar that split off from a witch. They don't carry Grief Seeds.	キユウべえ「今のは魔女から分裂した使い魔でしかないからね。グリーフシードは持つてないよ」
Madoka:	So it wasn't a witch.	まどか「魔女じゃなかったんだ...」
Sayaka:	We've been fighting nothing but duds lately.	さやか「なんか、ここんとこずっとハズレだよねえ」
Mami:	We can't ignore the familiars, though. If allowed to develop, familiars become the same kind of witch they broke off from. Anyway, let's go.	マミ「使い魔だって放っておけないのよ。成長すれば分裂元と同じ魔女になるから。ーーさ、行きましょ」

The silence of the night returns to the park. Mami, Sayaka, Madoka walk alongside Kyubey.		静寂を取り戻した夜の公園を、並んで歩くマミ、さやか、まどかとキユゥベえ。
Mami:	So have you figured out what you want to wish for?	マミ「二人とも、何か願い事は見つかった?」
Sayaka:	What about you, Madoka?	さやか「う~ん、まどかは?」
Madoka:	No...	まどか「う~ん...」
Mami smiles wryly at her troubled pupils.		困り果てる二人に、苦笑するマミ。
Mami:	Well, I guess it's hard to think of something when you're on the spot.	マミ「まあ、そういうものよね。いざ考えろって言われたら」
Madoka:	Mami-san, what did you wish for?	まどか「マミさんは、どんな願い事をしたんですか?」
As soon as Madoka asks, Mami turns gloomy. Madoka panics slightly.		まどかが訊いた途端、マミの表情が陰る。やや慌てるまどか。
Madoka:	Oh, uh... You don't really have to tell me!	まどか「いや、あの、どうしても聞きたいってわけじゃなくて、ちょっと気になった、っていうか、その...」
Mami:	No, it's fine. I don't need to hide it from you.	マミ「ううん、いいの。別に隠すほどのことでもないし」
Mami looks into the distance as she remembers.		遠い眼差しで追憶するマミ。

Mami:	In my case...	マミ「私の場合はーー」
Mami's memory. A major accident on a freeway.		マミの回想。高速道路での大規模な事故。
Dying, Mami is trapped beneath a car wreckage. Kyubey appears before Mami's extended hand.		潰れた車に閉じ込められて瀕死のマミが、手を差し伸べたその先に、キュウベえの姿がある。
Mami:	(Off Screen) -- I didn't have time to think about it.	マミoff「ーー考えている余裕さえ、なかったってだけ」

Back to the present. The park at night. Her two followers are slightly shocked by Mami's past.		再び現代。夜の公園。マミが語った過去に、ややショックを受けている二人。
Mami:	-- I don't really regret it. I think my current way of life is much better than having died back there.	マミ「ーー後悔してるわけじゃないのよ。今の生き方も、あそこで死んじゃうよりは余程良かったと思ってる」
Mami:	But you know, if you have the choice you should think it through. I want you to have the opportunity I didn't get.	マミ「でもね、ちゃんと選択の余地がある子には、きちんと考えた上で決めてほしいの。私にできなかったことだからこそ、ね」
Sayaka has made up her mind. She asks.		意を決して、質問をぶつける気になるきゃか。
Sayaka:	Hey, Mami-san... does your wish have to be for yourself?	さやか「ねえ、マミさん...願い事って、自分のための事柄でなきゃ駄目なのかな?」
Mami:	Huh?	マミ「え?」
Sayaka:	Like hypothetically... Hypothetically, all right? Say there was someone who was worse off than me. Could I use my wish for them...?	さやか「たとえばーーたとえばの話なんだけどさ。あたしなんかより、よほど困ってる人がいて、その人のために願い事をするのはーー」
Madoka:	You mean... Kamijou-kun?	まどか「それって...上条くんのこと?」
Sayaka:	I said hypothetically, d-didn't I?! Gosh!	さやか「た、例え話だって言ってるじゃんか!」
Kyubey nods calmly as Sayaka panics.		慌てるさやかを余所に、冷静に頷くキユウベえ。
Kyubey:	Whoever makes the contract doesn't necessarily need to be the target for the wish. It's not like it hasn't happened before, either.	キュゥベえ「べつに契約者自身が願い事の対象になる必然性はないんだけどね。前例もないわけじゃないし」
Mami:	I can't say I like the idea, though.	マミ「...でも、あまり感心できた話じゃないわ」
Mami raises her voice in objection.		やや険しい声で異論を挿むマミ。
Mami:	If you're going to grant a wish for someone else, then it's vital that you know what it is you're wishing for. --Miki-san, do you want his wish to come true, or do you want to be the person who made his wish come true?	マミ「他の人の願いを叶えるのなら、なおのこと自分の望みをはっきりさせておかないと。ーー美樹さん、あなたは彼に夢を叶えてほしいの? それとも彼の夢を叶えた恩人になりたいの?」
Sayaka:	....	さやか「...」
Madoka panics in reaction to Mami's stern words and Sayaka's silent disappointment.		マミの言い様に、さすがに憮然と押し黙るさやか。狼狽えるまどか。
Madoka:	Mami-san...	まどか「マミさんーー」
Mami:	They might sound the same, but they're completely different.	マミ「同じようでも全然違うことよ。これ」
Sayaka:	...That's a harsh way of putting it.	さやか「...その言い方は、ちょっと酷いと思う」
Mami:	I'm sorry, but it has to be said now. If you went ahead without realizing that, I'm sure you'd regret it later.	マミ「ごめんね。でも今のうちに言っておかないと。そこを履き違えたまま先に進んだら、あなた、きっと後悔するから」
Sayaka:	...	さやか「...」
Sayaka ponders in silence. After a moment, she takes a deep breath and nods.		さやか、しばし押し黙って考え込んでから、深呼吸し、頷く。
Sayaka:	You're right. I was being a little too naïve. Sorry about that.	さやか「...そうだね。あたしの考えが甘かった。ごめん」
Madoka is relieved by the honest apology. Mami also returns the smile.		さっぱりと謝罪するさやかに、安堵するまどか。マミも笑顔を返す。
Mami:	This is pretty difficult to deal with, isn't it? You shouldn't rush your decision.	マミ「やっぱり、難しい事柄よね。焦って決めるべきじゃないわ」
Kyubey:	The sooner the better for me, though.	キユゥベえ「僕としては、早ければ早いほどいいんだけど」
Mami knocks Kyubey lightly on the head in complaint.		ぼやくキユウベえの頭を小突くマミ。
Mami:	That won't do. Girls hate guys who pressure them.	マミ「駄目ょ。女の子を急かす男は嫌われるぞ」
Mami and Sayaka laugh. Madoka joins them, but her heart is full of complicated feelings.		笑うマミとさやか。まどかも釣られて笑うものの、その胸の内はやや複雑。

Madoka's Room

Madoka's Room		まどかの部屋
Bedtime. In pajamas, Madoka lies on her bed wide awake. Kyubey rests beside her.		就寝間際、パジャマに着替えてベッドの上でごろごろしているまどか。傍らにはキュゥベえ。
Madoka recalls her conversation with Sayaka and Mami in the park. She sighs.		公園でのさやかとマミの問答を思い出し、溜息をつくまどか。
Madoka:	...It really isn't that simple, is it...?	まどか「...やっぱり、簡単なことじゃないんだよね...」
Kyubey:	I'm not in a position to pressure you into it. Suggestions are against the rules too.	キユウベえ「僕の立場で急かすわけにはいかないしね。助言するのもルール違反だし」
Madoka:	I guess just wishing to become a magical girl wouldn't work, huh...?	まどか「ただ、なりたいってだけじゃ、駄目なのかな...」
Madoka stares at all the costume ideas in her notebook. Remembering how spectacular Mami looks in battle, she tries to imagine herself fighting beside Mami.		ノートの落書きの変身プランを眺めるまどか。華麗に戦うマミを思い出し、その姿に自分を重ねて妄想する。
Kyubey:	Madoka, do you just thirst for power?	キユウベえ「まどかは力そのものに憧れているのかい?」
Madoka:	No, that's not what I mean... Or maybe I do... I mean, I'm slow, and I'm not good at anything. So if I could be someone cool and wonderful like Mami-san, then that in itself would be enough to make me happy...	まどか「ゃ、そんなんじゃなくて...う~ん、そうなのかな? 私ってどんくさいし、何の取り柄もないし、だからマミさんみたいに絡好良くて素敵な人になれたら、それだけでもう充分に幸せなんだけど...」
Kyubey:	You could become a much more powerful magical girl than Mami.	キユウベえ「まどかが魔法少女になれば、マミよりずっと強くなれるよ」
Madoka:	Huh?	まどか「へ?」
Madoka is baffled by those unexpected words.		思わぬ言葉に、狐につままれたかのようなまどか。
Kyubey:	The sort of wish you make factors into it as well, but even I can't even imagine how large a Soul Gem you might produce. I've never met a girl with such potential before.	キユウベえ「もちろん、どんな願い事で契約をするかにもよるけれど...まどかが生み出すかもしれないソウルジエムの大きさは、僕にも測定しきれない。これだけの素質を持つ子と出会ったのは初めてだ」
Madoka:	Haha... What are you saying? Come on. You're joking, right?	まどか「はは...何言ってるのよ、もう。嘘でしょ」
Kyubey:	No—	キユウベえ「いやーー」
Door knock.		そこに扉をノックする音。
Tomohisa:	Madoka, are you awake?	知久「まどか、起きてるか?」
Madoka:	Yeah, what's wrong?	まどか「うん?どしたの?」
Tomohisa:	Mama is home... can you help me a bit?	知久「ママが帰ってきたんだが...ちょっと手伝ってくれないかな」

Kaname Home Entrance

Kaname Home Entrance		鹿自家玄関
Junko lies wasted at the doorstep.		上がり框で、泥酔した詢子が潰れている。
Madoka:	Again? ...Jeez.	まどか「あー、またか...まったくもう」
Madoka shrugs in disbelief.		やや呆れ気味に苦笑いするまどか。
Junko:	W-Water...	詢子「み、水...」
Already prepared, Tomohisa hands a cup of water to Junko.		既に用意してあったコップの水を詢子に飲ませる知久。
Tomohisa:	We need to get her to bed and changed. Hey, you hold that side.	知久「ともかくベッドまで運んで、着替えさせないと。ほら、そっち持ってくれ」
Madoka and Tomohisa carry Junko between them to her bedroom.		まどかと知久、二人がかりで詢子を肩に担いで、寝室まで引っ張っていく。
Junko:	Eh...Damn you, baldy!....If you want to drink, drink by your damn self...! (Don't make me pull that toupee off!)	詢子「ぐえええ...このスダレハゲ...呑みたきや手酌でやってろつつうの...」
Junko rambles on drunkenly.		譫言のように愚痴を漏らす詢子。

Parent's Bedroom

Parent's Bedroom		ダイニングキッチン
Junko sleeps peacefully under the covers.		布団にくるまり、安らかな寝息を立てている詢子。
Their task complete, Madoka and Tomohisa share a sigh of relief.		一仕事終えた知久とまどか、ほっと一息。
Tomohisa:	Should I make some hot cocoa?	知久「ココアでも入れようか?」
Madoka:	Yeah, sure.	まどか「うん、お願い」

Dining Kitchen

Dining Kitchen		ダイニングキッチン
In pajamas and nightgowns, Madoka and Tomohisa sit at the table face to face, sipping hot cocoa.		寝間着姿にガウンを羽織り、テーブルで差し向かいに座ってホットココアを啜る二人。
Madoka:	I wonder why Mom loves her job so much. Working at that company wasn't really her dream, was it?	まどか「なんでママは、あんなに仕事が好きなのかな。昔からあの会社で働くのが夢だったーーなんて、ないよね?」
Tomohisa:	Hm... it's not that she loves her job as much as she loves a challenge.	知久「ママは仕事が好きなんじゃなくて、頑張るのが好きなのさ」
Madoka:	...?	まどか「...?」
Tomohisa:	I'm sure there are tough and painful times for her, but the subsequent feeling of accomplishment is her greatest joy. Because of this, even the difficult work now can become worthwhile.	知久「嫌なことも辛いこともいっぱいあるだろうけど、それを乗リ越えたときの満足感が、ママにとっては最高の宝物なのさ。 そういう意味で、今の難しくて大変な仕事は、とてもやり甲斐があるんだろうね」
Madoka:	I wonder if she's happy...?	まどか「ママは...満足なのかな、それで」
Tomohisa:	She might not have wished to work where she does now, but she's still living her ideal way of life. Some dreams can come true like that.	知久「そりゃ、会社勤めが夢だったわけじゃないだろうけどさ。それでもママは、理想と思っていた生き方を通してる。そんな風にして叶える夢もあるんだよ」
Madoka:	So someone's dream can be their way of life?	まどか「...生き方そのものを、夢にするの?」
Tomohisa:	I'm sure opinions differ, but I really like that about your mom. I can respect that and I take pride in it. (Don't you think she's amazing too?)	知久「どう思うかは人それぞれだろうけどーー僕はね、ママのそういうところが大好きだ。尊敬できるし、自慢できる。素晴らしい人だってね」
Madoka::	Yeah.	まどか「...うん」
Madoka's expression softens from her father's soothing smile.		父の笑顔に、表情を和ませるまどか。

Night - Street

Night - Street		夜道
Mami says her goodbyes to Madoka and Sayaka. She suddenly stops, sensing something.		まどか、さやかと別れて帰路を歩くマミ。ふと背後についてくる気配を感じ、足を止める。
Homura stands in the darkness, away from the streetlights.		街灯の光を避けるように、闇の中に佇んでいるほむら。
Homura:	You know you're putting innocent civilians in danger, don't you?	ほむら「分かっているの?あなたは無関係な一般人を危険に巻き込んでいる」
Mami:	They've been chosen by Kyubey. They're no longer innocent civilians.	マミ「彼女たちはキユゥベえに選ばれたのよ。もう無関係じゃないわ」
Homura:	You're leading them toward becoming magical girls.	ほむら「あなたは二人を魔法少女に誘導している」
Mami:	And I take it you don't like that.	マミ「それが面白くないわけ?」
Homura:	That's right. It's a nuisance... Especially in the case of Kaname Madoka.	ほむら「ええ。迷惑よ。...特に鹿目まどか」
Mami sneers as Homura's motive (a misunderstanding) dawns on her.		マミ、ほむらの真意を見透かした(と勘違いして)日を細める。
Mami:	I see... So you've noticed her potential as well.	マミ「ふうん...そう、あなたも気付いてたのね、あの子の素質に」
Homura looks serious.		ほむらの眼差しがさらに険しくなる。
Homura:	I cannot, under any circumstances, allow her to make a contract.	ほむら「彼女だけは、契約させるわけにはいかない」
Mami:	Is it because you're afraid that anyone stronger will get in your way? That's the way a bullied child thinks, you know.	マミ「自分より強い相手は邪魔者ってわけ?いじめられつ子の発想ね」
Outraged, Homura closes her eyes briefly to regain her composure.		内心でかっとなるほむらだが、一旦目を閉じて気持ちを静める。
Homura:	I have no reason to fight you, but...	ほむら「あなたとは戦いたくないのだけれど」
Mami:	In that case, make sure we never meet again.	マミ「なら二度と会うことがないよう努力して」
Certain that Homura isn't looking for a fight, Mami turns around.		ほむらの側にこの場で仕掛けてくる意図がないと判断したマミは、踵を返す。
Mami:	I'm sure tonight's the last time we'll resolve this peacefully.	マミ「話し合いだけで事が済むのは、きっと今夜で最後だろうから」
With that line, Mami takes her leave. Homura stands, motionless. She bites her teeth in frustration.		捨て台詞を残して去っていくマミ。ほむらは事態が思うように進まないことに苛立ち、歯噛みする。
Homura:	...	ほむら「...」

Hospital Lobby (Next Day, After School)

Hospital Lobby (Next Day, After School)		封院ロビー(翌日、放課後)
Kyousuke remains hospitalized. Madoka accompanies Sayaka for her visit. Madoka waits at the lobby with Kyubey.		恭介が入院している病院。さやかの見舞いに付き添って来たまどかが、ペンチでさやかの戻リを待っている。隣にはキユウベえ。
Sayaka sighs as she comes down in the elevator.		そこで溜息をつきつつエレベーターから降りてくるさやか。
Sayaka:	Hey, sorry for the wait.	さやか「ょ、お待たせ」
Madoka:	Huh? You couldn't see Kamijou-kun?	まどか「あれ? ...上条くん、逢えなかったの?」
Sayaka:	I guess it's not a good day for him. Seriously, I came all this way too. It's pretty rude.	さやか「なんか今日は都合悪いみたいでさ。わざわざ来てやったのに、失礼しちゃうわよね~」

Hospital - Bicycle Parking

Hospital - Bicycle Parking		病院・訴の駐輪場
Madoka and Sayaka walk through the hospital's courtyard together.		連れ立つて、病院の中庭を横切るまどかとさやか。
Suddenly feeling anxious, Madoka looks toward some storage space at the back of parking lot.		ふと気になって、駐輪場の奥にある物置のスペースに目をやるまどか。
Something glows mysteriously.		そこで何かが怪しく光っている。
Madoka:	...?	まどか「...?」
Sayaka:	What's wrong?	さやか「ん? どしたの?」
Madoka:	There's something over there...	まどか「あそこ、何か...」
Feeling uneasy, they investigate.		胸騒ぎを感じて、近寄って調べる二人。
A Grief Seed sticks out of a wall. Its light pulses as if to breathe.		そこには、壁に突き刺さるようにして埋まっているグリーフシード。まるで呼吸するかのように光を脈動させている。
Kyubey:	It's a Grief Seed!... It's about to hatch!	キユウベえ「グリーフシードだ...孵化しかかってる!」
Sayaka:	No way. Why is it here?	まどか「嘘、なんでこんな所に...」
Kyubey:	No way! We've gotta get out of here! The barrier will go up soon.	キユウベえ「まずいよ。早く逃げないと。この辺りはもうこいつの魔力に侵食されはじめてる。もうすぐ結界が出来上がる」
Madoka:	That maze thing again?	さやか「またあの迷路が...」
Sayaka remembers what Mami once said.		さやかの脳裏を、かつてマミから聞いた言葉が過ぎる。

Mami:	The worst case scenario is when they haunt places like hospitals. It's not a pretty sight when they drain the life out of those in a weakened state.	マミ「...それから、病院とかに取り憑かれると最悪よ。ただでさえ弱っている人たちから生命力が吸い上げられるから、日も当てられないことになる」

Sayaka:	(Madoka, do you know Mami-san's cell number?)
Madoka:	(No.)
Sayaka:	(This isn't good...)
Sayaka makes up her mind - she can't simply ignore this.		これは断じて見過ごせないと、意を決するさやか。
'Sayaka:	Madoka, go and get Mami-san. I'll watch over the seed.	さやか「まどか、先に行って。マミさんを呼んできて。あたしはこいつを見張ってる」
Madoka:	You can't!	まどか「そんな!」
Kyubey:	It's too dangerous! We still have time until the Witch hatches, but you'll be stuck once the barrier goes up. I don't know if Mami will make it here in time...	キユウベえ「無茶だよ。中の魔女が出てくるまでにはまだ時間があるけど、結界が閉じたら君は外に出られなくなる。マミの助けが間に合うかどうかーー」
Sayaka:	You can't find the witch once the maze goes up, right?	さやか「あの迷路が出来上がったら、こいつの居所も分からなくなっちゃ、つんでしょ?」
Image of Kyousuke's debilitated state floats on Sayaka's mind.		さやかの脳裂を過ぎる、衰弱した恭介のイメージ。
Sayaka:	I can't let it hatch in a place like this.	さやか「放つておけないよ。こんな場所で...」
Recognizing Sayaka's determination, Kyubey descends from Madoka's shoulders.		さやかの決意を察して、頷くキユウベえ。まどかの肩から降りる。
Kyubey:	Madoka, go find her. I'll stay with Sayaka.	キユウベえ「まどか、先に行ってくれ。さやかには僕がついてる」
Madoka:	Kyubey...	まどか「キユウべえ...」
Kyubey:	When Mami gets here, she'll know my location via telepathy. If I watch over the Grief Seed with Sayaka, I'll be able to guide Mami to the shortest route out of the barrier.	キユウベえ「マミならテレパシーで僕の位置が解る。ここでさやかと一緒にグリーフシードを見張っていれば、最短距離で結界を抜けられるよう、マミを誘導できるから」
Sayaka:	Thank you, Kyubey.	さやか「ありがとう。キユウベえ」
Madoka:	I'll... I'll get Mami-san here as fast as I can.	まどか「...あたし、すぐにマミさんを連れてくるから!」
Madoka runs as fast as she can. Kyubey's and Sayaka's surroundings gradually turns abnormal, separating from the real world.		走り去るまどか。さやかとキユウベえの周囲は徐々に異界化し、現実枇界と隔てられていく。
Madoka looks back before leaving the parking lot, but nobody remains, only eerie quietness.		駐輪場を出る前に、振り返ってさやかたちがいた辺りを見るまどか。そこは既に不気味な静寂に包まれて、誰もいない。

She watches in silence as Madoka runs out of the hospital.		駐輪場から駆け出ていくまどかを、無言で見守っている。

Sayaka stares at the pulsating Grief Seed, holding Kyubey in her arms.		脈動するグリーフシードを前にして、キユウベえを抱きかかえているさやか。
Kyubey:	Are you scared, Sayaka?	キユウベえ「恐いかい? さやか」
Sayaka:	Well, yeah... Of course I am.	さやか「そりゃあまあ...当然でしょ」
Kyubey:	If you can come up with a wish, I can turn you into a magical girl right here.	キユウベえ「願い事さえ決めてくれれば、今この場で君を魔法少女にしてあげることもできるんだけど」
Sayaka:	If things get bad enough, I might ask you for that... But for now, I'll wait for Mami-san.	さやか「うん、いざとなったら頼むかも。...でも、今はやめとく。マミさんを待つよ」
Sayaka takes a deep breath, trying to summon some courage.		弱気になりそうな自分を奮い立たせようと、深呼吸するさやか。
Sayaka:	This is important to me... I'd rather not decide until I'm really ready.	さやか「あたしにとっても、大事なことだから。...できる』となら、いい加減な気持ちで決めたくない」

Hospital - Bicycle Parking

Madoka returns with Mami.		マミを連れて再び戻ってくるまどか。
Mami:	Here, right...?	マミ「ここね...」
Mami forces open the Barrier entrance with magic. Another world's labyrinth lays out before them. Mami telepathically call out to Kyubey.		マミ、魔力で結界の入口を開く。二人の前に晒される異界の迷路。マミはキユウべえにテレパシーで呼びかける。
Mami:	Kyubey, what's the status?	マミ『キユウべえ、状況は?』
Kyubey:	We're good for now. There are no signs of it hatching yet.	キユウベえ『まだ大丈夫。すぐに孵化する様子はないよ』
Madoka:	Sayaka-chan, are you okay?	まどか『さやかちゃん、大丈夫?』
Sayaka:	Of course. I'm about to fall asleep from boredom.	さやか『へーきへーき。退屈で居眠りしちゃいそう』
Kyubey:	It's actually worse to provoke the egg using magic. You don't have to hurry, so could you come as calmly as possible?	キユウベえ『むしろ迂闊に大きな魔力を使って卵を刺激する方がまずい。急がなくていいから、なるべく静かに米てくれるかい?』
Mami:	Got it.	マミ『わかったわ』
Mami transforms and steps into the Barrier, Madoka following behind.		マミ、変身することなく結界の中へと踏み込む。後に続くまどか。
Madoka:	I'm glad we made it in time.	まどか「間に合って良かった...」
Mami:	I would've been mad at you guys for being too reckless, but you made the right decision this time. Now we don't have to worry about the witch getting——	マミ「無茶しすぎ、って怒りたいところだけれど。今回に限つては冴えた手だったわ。これなら魔女を取り逃がす心配はーー」
Mami stops and turns around. Madoka looks back too, stunned.		言いかけて立ち止まり、振り向くマミ。まどかもまた背後を見て息を呑む。
Homura has entered the Barrier behind them.		二人の後から、ほむらが結界に踏み込んでくる。
Mami:	... I thought I said I didn't want to see you again.	マミ「...言ったはずよね。二度と会いたくないって」
Homura:	I'll take down the prey this time. You two should leave.	ほむら「今回の獲物は私が狩る。あなたたちは手を退いて」
Mami:	I don't think so. We need to get Miki-san and Kyubey.	マミ「そうもいかないわ。美樹さんとキユウベえを迎えに行かないと」
Homura:	I can guarantee their safety.	ほむら「その二人の安全は保証するわ」
Mami:	You think I'd trust you?	マミ「信用すると思って?」
Mami invokes a magical net that she had planted beforehand.		マミ、予め床に仕掛けておいた魔力の網を発動。
Caught off guard, Homura is stuck in the trap.		不意を突かれ、網に捕らりわれて動けなくなるほむら。
Homura:	I-idiot... Now's not the time for this.	ほむら「馬鹿ッ...こんなことやってる場合じゃ!」
Mami:	I don't want to hurt you, but I can't guarantee your safety if you struggle too much.	マミ「もちろん怪我させるつもりはないけど、あんまり暴れたら保証しかねるわ」
Homura resists, ignoring the advice, but the magical constraints simply become firmer, squeezing her tightly.		忠告をよそに抵抗するほむら。だが魔力の拘束はますます固く彼女を締め上げる。
Homura:	This witch is nothing like the ones you've encountered so far!	ほむら「今度の魔女は、これまでの奴らとはワケが違う!」
Mami:	Be a good girl and I'll let you out on the way back. ——Let's go, Kaname-san.	マミ「大人しくしていれば、帰りにちゃんと解放してあげる。ーー行きましょう、鹿目さん」
Madoka:	O-okay...	まどか「は、はい...」
Homura:	Wait...!	ほむら「待て...ぐッ!」
Mami's magic has strangled Homura so tightly that she can no longer speak.		ますますマミの魔力が絞まり、声も出せなくなるほむら。
Madoka watches with concern, but Mami presses her forward.		まどかはその様子を心配げに眺めつつ、マミに促されるままついていく。

Barrier - Maze

Barrier - Maze		結界迷路の途中
Mami and Madoka walk on their tiptoes, trying to avoid alerting the Familiars roaming around them.		迷路を徘徊する使い魔たちの背後を、そっと忍び足で通り抜けるマミとまどか。
Madoka finds the silence deafening and starts to talk.		何となく沈黙が重くて、マミに声をかけるまどか。
Madoka:	Um... Mami-san.	まどか「おの...マミさん?」
Mami:	What is it?	マミ「なに?」
Madoka:	I thought about my wish a lot, and...	まどか「願い事、私なりに、色々と考えてみたんですけど...」
Mami:	Did you make up your mind?	マミ「決まりそうなの?」
Madoka:	Yes, but I think you might get mad at me for being too naïve...	まどか「はい。でも、あの、もしかしたらマミさんには、考え方が甘いって、怒られそうで...」
Mami:	What's your wish?	マミ「どんな夢を叶えるつもり?」
Madoka speaks with some hesistation, struggling to organize her thoughts.		まどか、自分なりに思考を整理しようと努めつつ、たどたどしく語りはじめる。
Madoka:	I've never had a subject I was good at or any skill that I could be proud of. I thought I'd spend the rest of my life without being able to help anyone, and that I'd always be a burden... I couldn't stand it.	まどか「私って、昔から、得意な学科とか、人に自慢できる才能とか、何にもなくて...きっとこれから先ずっと、誰の役にも立てないまま、迷惑ばかりかけていくのかなって...それが嫌でしょうがなかったんです」
Mami:	...	マミ「...」
Madoka:	But then I met you... and you showed me what it was like to fight to save people.... You told me I might be capable of doing the same thing... It made me happier than anything...	まどか「でも、マミさんと会って...誰かを助けるために戦ってるの、見せてもらって...同じことが、私にもできるかもしれないって言われて...何よりも嬉しかったのは、そのことで...」
Mami listens in silence, as Madoka musters more courage to confess.		黙って聞いているマミに、勇気を出して告白するまどか。
Madoka:	So my wish will be granted if I become a magical girl. There's nothing I wish more... than to have the power to help people...	まどか「だから私、魔法少女になれたなら、それで願い事は叶っちゃうんです。こんな自分でも、誰かの役に立てるんだって、胸を張って生きていけたら...それが一番の夢だから...」
Without turning around, Mami asks.		先を行くマミは、振り向くことなく問い返す。
Mami:	...It's hard, you know. You'll get hurt, and you won't have time to fall in love or hang out with friends.	マミ「...大変だよ? 怪我もするし、恋したり遊んだりしてる暇もなくなっちゃうよ?」
Madoka:	But I still want to become someone who never gives up... just like you.	まどか「でも、それでも頑張ってるマミさんに...私、憧れてるんです」
Mami stops.		立ち止まるマミ。
Mami:	Nobody should become like me.	マミ「憧れるほどのもんじゃないわよ。私」
Madoka:	...?	まどか「...?」
Madoka looks at Mami's back. Her shoulders are trembling.		マミの背中を見守るまどか。その肩が震えているのに気付く。
Mami:	I'm just acting cool, but I have no one to talk with when I'm scared or sad... I just cry all alone. Being a magical girl really isn't that great.	マミ「無理してカッコつけてるだけで、恐くても、辛くても、誰にも相談できないし、独りぼっちで泣いてばっかり。いいものじゃないわよ。魔法少女なんて」
Madoka:	You're not alone anymore, Mami-san.	まどか「マミさんはもう独りぼっちなんかじゃないです」
Mami:	You're right. You really are.	マミ「そうね、そうなんだよね」
Mami turns around, holding Madoka hand-in-hand, tears glistening in her eyes. Madoka is surprised.		振リ向いて、まどかの手を握るマミ。その日に光る涙を見て、やや驚くまどか。
Mami:	Will you really fight with me from now on...? Will you stay by my side?	マミ「本当に、これから...私と一緒に、戦ってくれるの?側にいてくれるの?」
Mami asks with desperation, her voice trembling. Madoka, somewhat intimidated, simply nods.		擦れた声で問、つマミに、やや気後れしつつ、それでもきっぱりと頷くまどか。
Madoka:	Yes... If you're really okay with someone like me.	まどか「はい。...私なんかで、良かったら」
Mami tries to hold back her tears and forces out a sheepish grin.		マミは涙を堪えようとして、無理に照れ笑いを浮かべようとする。
Mami:	Gosh... Some role model I turned out to be... I guess I'm really not that great after all...	マミ「まいったなあ...まだまだちゃんと先輩ぶってなきゃいけないのになあ...やっぱり私、駄目な子だ...」
Madoka:	Mami-san...	まどか「マミさん...」
Mami smiles, and her tears finally stop flowing.		ようやく涙を引っ込めて、笑うマミ。
Mami:	... But since you have the chance, you should come up with a wish.	マミ「...でもさ、折角なんだし、願い事は何か考えておきなよ」
Madoka:	I guess—— you have a point there.	まどか「折角ーーですかね、やっぱり」
Mami speaks jokingly. Madoka can't help but laugh along as well.		冗談めかしたマミの声に、釣られて笑うまどか。
Mami:	It's a contract, so you might as well get something out of it. Make yourself a billionaire, or get yourself a wonderful boyfriend. Anything goes!	マミ「契約は契約なんだから、ものはついでと思っておこうよ。億万長者とか、素敵な彼氏とか、何だっていいじゃない」
Madoka:	That's not really...	まどか「いやあ、その...」
Mami:	How about this, then? If you haven't thought of a wish by the time we've taken out this witch, how about you wish for a grand feast and a cake from Kyubey?	マミ「じゃあ、こうしましょ。この魔女をやっつけるまでに願い事が決まらなかったら、そのときはキユウベえに、ごちそうとケーキを頼みましょ」
Madoka:	A-A cake?	まどか「け、ヶーキ?」
Mami:	Yeah! The largest, most extravagant party cake you've ever seen! We'll have a party with everyone to celebrate us joining together as a magical girl duo.	マミ「そう、最高におつきくて贅沢な、お祝いのケーキ。それでみんなでパーティーするの。私と鹿目さんの、魔法少女コンビ結成記念よ」
Madoka:	I'm going to become a magical girl for cake?	まどか「ゎ、私、ヶーキで魔法少女に?」
Mami:	If you don't like it, come up with something yourself!	マミ「嫌なら、ちゃんと自分で考える!」
Madoka:	Eh...	まどか「ふええ...」

Barrier - Core

With Kyubey and Sayaka watching, the Grief Seed begins to slowly deform. Sayaka watches with bated breath, horrified.		さやかとキユウべえが見守る眼前で、やおら変形しはじめるグリーフシード。そのおぞましさに息を呑むさやか。
Kyubey:	Mami! The Grief Seed has begun to move! It's hatching—— Hurry!	キユウべえ「マミ! グリーフシードが動き始めた!孵化が始まるーー急いで!」

Barrier - Maze

Barrier - Maze		結界迷路の途中
Mami nods to confirm Kyubey's telepathy.		キユウべえからのテレパシーを受けて、頷くマミ。
Mami:	Okay. Got it. This is a special occasion, so I'll take care of this one fast.	マミ「オツケー、わかったわ。今日という今日は速攻で片付けるわよ!」
Madoka:	Wow, hey——	まどか「わわ、そんなーー」
No longer required to hide her magical presence, Mami transforms.		魔力を抑える理由のなくなったマミは、魔法少女スタイルに変身。
Leading Madoka by the hand, Mami runs rapidly through the Barrier's Maze.		まどかの手を引いて、疾風のように結界の迷路を駆け抜ける。
By the time the Familiars notice their presence, it's too late for them. Mami blasts them away one after another with renewed ease.		今更ながらマミたちの存在に気付く使い魔たちだが、勢いづいたマミの魔力で片っ端から吹き飛ばされていく。
Mami:	(Voice Over) I feel light—— I've never fought with such a happy feeling before.	マミM 『身体が軽いーーこんな幸せな気持ちで戦うなんて初めて』
Mami smiles, ignoring the urgency of her situation.		切迫した状況にも拘わらず、微笑みを浮かべているマミ。
Madoka smiles in encouragement when Mami sees her. Mami returns the favor.		その笑みに勇気づけられたまどかも、マミの視線に微笑を返す。
Mami:	(Voice Over) I'm not scared of anything anymore. I—— am no longer alone!	マミM 『もう何も恐くない。私ーー独りぼっちじゃないもの!』

Barrier - Core

Kyubey and Sayaka slowly retreat as the Grief Seed hatches. Mami and Madoka rush to them, scattering the Familiars in all directions.		孵化中眼前のグリーフシードから後退るさやかとキユウベえの前に、使い魔たちを蹴散らしながら駆け込んでくるマミとまどか。
Mami:	Sorry for the wait.	マミ「お待たせ!」
Sayaka:	Nah... You're just in time.	さやか「ふう...間に合ったあ」
Kyubey:	Watch out—— It's coming!	キユウべえ「気を令けてーー出てくるよ!」
The Grief Seed hatches. A strange Witch emerges.		グリーフシード、孵化。現れ出る異形の魔女。
Mami stands ready to protect Madoka.		だがマミはまどかたちを庇いつつ、いつにない気迫で身構える。
Mami:	Sorry to ruin the fun, but I'm ending this now!	マミ「せっかくのとこ悪いけど、一気に決めさせてもらうわよ!」
Mami invokes a magical net. It immediately captures the Witch, binding it tightly.		マミ、魔力の投網を発動。先手を打たれていきなり縛り上げられる魔女。
Mami:	(Take this!)
Mami transforms a magical musket into a magical cannon, ready to fire.		そのままマミは魔銃を魔砲へと変形させ、発射態勢に。
Sayaka:	She did it——	さやか「ゃったーー」
However, the Witch's flexible body extends outward. Its jaws protrude out, suddenly hovering above Mami, completely eclipsing her head and neck.		だが今回の魔女は身体が伸縮自在な構造だった。いきなり伸び上がった首から先が、ちょうどマミの頭を丸呑みするほどに顎を拡げて、覆い被さってくる。
Mami:	——Eh?	マミ「ーーえ?」
Mami stiffens up, an incredulous look on her face.		信じられない、といった表情で硬直するマミ。
Madoka and Sayaka watch, wide-eyed, terrified.		恐怖に目を見開くまどかとさやか。

Barrier - Near the Entrance

Barrier - Near the Entrance		結界入口付近
Homura remains tied by Mami's constraining magic.		マミの緊縛魔術に縛られていたほむら。
Unexpectedly, the magic evaporates, releasing Homura.		だがふいにマミの魔力が消失し、拘束から解放される。
Homura:	Don't tell me...!	ほむら「まさか...ッ!」
Homura is tongue-tied, her face full of regret.		痛恨の面持ちで舌打ちするほむら。

Barrier - Core

Mami crumples into a heap, like a puppet without strings. (Actually, her head is gone, but it's not shown due to the camera angle)		糸が切れた人形のように倒れ伏すマミの身体。(実は頭が無くなっているのだがアングルで誤魔化す方向で)
Free again, the Witch's enormous body smothers her corpse, now hidden from view.		その上に、自由になった魔女の巨体が覆い被さり、隠す。
Bone-crushing sounds can be heard from that direction.		肉と骨を附み砕き、呑み込む音。
Madoka and Sayaka, frozen in horror, can neither scream nor avert their eyes.		まどかとさやかは恐怖のあまり固まって、目を逸らすことも、悲鳴を上げることもできない。
Kyubey:	You two—— hurry and make a contract with me!	キユウベえ「二人ともーー今すぐ僕と契約を!」
Nor can the girls respond to Kyubey's pleading.		叱咤するキユウベえ。聞こえていても反応できない二人。
Kyubey':	Decide on your wishes! Hurry!	キユウベえ「願い事を決めるんだ! 早く!」
Having consumed Mami's remains, the Witch's face (?) looks up, eyeing Sayaka and Madoka with anticipation.		マミの骸を食べ終えて、顔(?)を上げる魔女。その眼がまどかとさやかを見据える。
Sayaka:	Ah...	まどか「あ...」
The girls prepare for death.		死を覚悟する二人。
Kyubey:	Madoka! Sayaka!	キユウベえ「まどか! さやか!」
Homura:	—— That won't be necessary.	ほむら「ーーその必要はないわ」
With the girls safe behind her, Homura stands before the Witch.		竦み上がった二人を背に庇って、魔女の前に立ちはだかるほむら。
Homura:	I'll take care of it——	ほむら「こいつを仕留めるのは、私ーー」
Homura's transformation sequence, magical girl style.		ほむら、変身シークェンス。魔法少女スタイルに。
An unexpected savior. Madoka and Sayaka look surprised.		予想だにしなかった救援に、呆然となるまどかとさやか。
Like with Mami, the Witch stretches its body to catch Homura.		魔女はマミのときと同様に、一瞬で伸縮する身体でほむらを捕らえようとする。
Seemingly instantly, Homura has moved to a different place. Rather than catching her, the Witch is caught by a bomb explosion. It screams in agony over its lost tentacles.		だがほむらは瞬間移動したかのように別の位置に。代わりに魔女が捕まえたのは起爆寸前の爆弾である。触手を吹き飛ばされ、絶叫する魔女。
Homura moves instantly from one position to another. The Witch falls for one trap after another. Homura is showing the Witch no mercy. (Actually, Homura is using time magic, but Madoka and Sayaka don't know from watching)		ほむらは次々と瞬間移動を繰り返し、そのたびに次から次へと出現する置き土産の罠にひっかかり、一方的に翻弄される魔女。(ほむらは得意の時間静止魔術を駆使しているのだが、見守っているまどかやさやかには理解できない)
Unlike Mami's flashy fighting style, Homura's strategy is cold and calculated, showing Madoka a completely different method of fighting.		華麗だったマミの戦闘スタイルとに違い、冷附かつ無駄のない戦略。全く違う次元の魔法戦闘を見せつけられるまどか。
Madoka:	... Ah.	ほむら「...ふん」
Homura shrugs like it's nothing, and cancels her transform. She walks toward Madoka.		最後に何事もなかったかのように鼻を鳴らして、いきなり変身を解除するほむら。まどかたちの方に向き直る。
Homura:	A moment later and you would have been dead.	ほむら「命拾いしたわね、あなたたち」
Sayaka:	Em——	さやか「なーー」
Seeing an opportunity, the With attacks, but it has already fallen into a deadly trap that has been set around it.		ここぞとばかりに襲いかかる魔女。だがその周囲は、既に必殺の罠で完全に包囲されている。
Homura delivers the final blow without ever looking back. The Witch disappears with a scream.		背を向けたほむらの背後で、とどめを刺され、絶叫とともに出消滅する魔女。
Homura:	Burn this moment into your eyes. This is what it means to become a magical girl.	ほむら「目に焼きつけておきなさい。魔法少女になるって、そういうことよ」
In tears, Madoka and Sayaka stare blankly at the floor (where Mami's body once lay).		半泣きになりながら、地面の一画(マミの死体がある辺り)を見つめているまどかとさやか。
With the Witch eliminated, the Barrier also disappears. The surroundings return to that of a bicycle parking lot.		魔女が消滅したことで、結界もまた消えていく。周囲は再び、もとの駐輪場の光景に。
Homura picks up the Grief Seed that was left behind.		後に残されたグリーフシードを、ほむらが拾い上げる。
Sayaka watches with anger.		それを見て、遣り場のない怒りに駆られるさやか。
Sayaka:	... Give that back.	さやか「...返してよ」
Homura:	...	ほむら「...」
Homura looks back at Sayaka in silence. Sayaka reaches out.		無言で見つめ返すほむらに、掴みかかるさやか。
Sayaka:	Give that back! That—— That belongs to Mami-san!	さやか「返せよッ!それはーーそれはマミさんのものだ!」
Sayaka shakes with rage as she stares down coldly at Homura. (I said give that back to Mami-san!)		逆上するさやかを振り払い、そのまま冷ややかな眼差しで見下ろすほむら。
Homura:	Right. These are for magical girls. ——You two have no right to touch one.	ほむら「そうよ。これは魔法少女のためのもの。ーーあなたたちには触る資格なんて、ない」
With that said, Homura takes her leave.		言い放ち、そのまま去っていくほむら。
Sayaka collapses in tears. Madoka stands behind, staring with vacant eyes.		後には泣き崩れるさやかと、虚ろな目で立ち尽くすまどかが取り残される。
Kyubey muses by itself as the girls wallow in despair, looking thoughtfully as Homura walks away.		そしてキユウべえは、絶望する二人ではなく、去っていくほむらの背中を、何やら物思いに耽りながら見送る。
