Summary
A magical girl who loves to eat just about anything. She has a discerning palate with a strong commitment to food, and she believes in eating anything that's delicious. Her hobby is posting reviews on food reporting sites, and she's gained a large following of fans due to her writing which is filled with her love of food.
Doppel Description
The Doppel of unbalanced diets. Its form is a vacuum cleaner. The master of this emotion is utterly exasperated by the vulgarity of her Doppel, which not only refuses to listen to her, but even snatches and inhales other people’s food. When this Doppel spots a being that it has good compatibility with, it’ll ignore its master’s orders and start absorbing that being’s magic, and won’t change its target until said being dies. Its stomach is downright bottomless, so it doesn’t have to worry about any clichéd outcomes like inhaling so much that it explodes, but since it becomes heavier and heavier the more magic it stockpiles, it may sometimes squash its master flat.

Ria Ami arrives at Walnuts, where she meets Tsumugi, who is eating Manaka's omelettes saying that they are delicious and asking Manaka what her review was, but Manaka Kurumi tells her that she only said that her food is delicious. Ria asks Manaka if she is filming a food show or something. Manaka apologizes to Ria for not paying attention to her while Tsumugi tries to get Ria's attention on her reviews of Manaka's food. Manaka says that she only wrote "delicious", but Tsumugi claims that it is because Manaka's food is delicious. Manaka introduces Tsumugi to Ria as a senpai of both of them, Tsumugi says that Ria really is beautiful and then introduces herself as "Manaka's best friend", although Manaka insists that they have only known each other for a week, but Tsumugi claims that she has already known Manaka for a year, saying that she has always thought Manaka was "the girl who smells delicious", but Manaka finds that statement terrifying and asks if Tsumugi is some kind of animal that judges people by their smell, but Tsumugi starts acting like a dog, annoying Manaka. Tsumugi asks Ria to help her convince Manaka to let her help make Walnuts more popular with her reviews, showing that she wrote a review in which she gave the restaurant 5 stars but in it, she only says that the food is very delicious and that she wants give it "5000 stars". However, Manaka thinks that it is a very basic review and even seems fake. So Ria asks how they met and why Tsumugi wants to help Manaka so much, to which Tsumugi replies that it's because "Manaka picked her up." Tsumugi subsequently proceeds to tell Ria about her encounter with Manaka, while Ria understands why Manaka has been "busy" that week. In a flashback it's shown how Tsumugi met Manaka. Tsumugi was walking a little sleepy through the streets without being careful in the direction of a dumpling shop, because she didn't slept last night as she spend all the night reading reports about food places in her phone, becoming interested with the place that offered 200 limited dumplings. Due to how little Tsumugi slept she could barely move. At that moment she got captured by a witch's barrier. Tsumugi confused the familiars as "living dumplings" and tried to eat one familiar, but when she was attacked by it she was saved by Manaka, who scolded her her actions. However, Tsumugi fainted due to her exhaustion. When she woke up she was at Walnuts, Manaka had told her that she fainted on the street and he made her one of her rice omelettes. Back in the present, Tsumugi says she was so fascinated by the food and she thought that this was the place she was always looking for. From that day on, Tsumugi began to go to Walnuts every day, in addition to being worried when he saw the restaurant so empty, so she decided to help Manaka improve the popularity of the place, as she fears that it will close and he will no longer be able to eat Manaka's food ever again. Tsumugi explains that she set out to help Manaka improve the popularity of the place, as she fears that it will close and she will no longer be able to eat Manaka's food. She explains Ria how her hobby is going to restaurants, eating their food, and writing reviews about what she eats, so Tsumugi thinks she could serve as publicity to help Walnuts. Manaka insists that they already have many positive reviews, but Tsumugi ignores her, saying that she should go to her house for dinner and leaves her. Ria tells Manaka that Tsumugi is an enthusiastic girl and should let her do some publicity, but Manaka fears that "it's too much for her." The next day the three girls meet again at Walnuts, Ria asks Tsumugi why she eats so fast and she says that it is because she is excited, showing the comments that her criticisms have received, although some people were curious, the majority consider that Tsumugi is exaggerating. or makes false advertising because its reviews are not "genuine." Manaka worries about this, but Tsumugi doesn't care and believes that when people try Walnuts' food they will realize that she isn't lying. Manaka tells Tsumugi that it is not necessary, since she and her father have regular customers who always come every time they cook. Tsumugi gets sad, so she asks Ria to accompany her on the way home, so they both leave Walnuts, going to a restaurant to talk. Tsumugi asks Ria for help, but she tells her that she should listen to Manaka and not worry about her. However, Tsumugi knows in advance of several places with good food that have closed due to their low clientele, something that happened with many of her favorite restaurants that she visited in her childhood, but closed due to their low clients. Just then an order of pilaf arrives in a large bowl, much to Ria's surprise. Tsumugi begins to eat saying that this way she can concentrate better and begins to describe the food and its taste, Ria is upset at first but realizes that she is also getting hungry listening to Tsumugi and thinks that maybe she does have potential as food critic, so she proposes a strategy to Tsumugi, and when telling her about it Tsumugi says that Ria is both beautiful and intelligent. 5 days later, at Mizuna Girls' Academy, Manaka worries because Tsumugi hasn't gone to Walnuts, however, she doesn't realize that Tsumugi had gone to ask her for bentos for lunch. Manaka mentions how unusual it is to see her there because it is the first time she buys the bentos that she prepares to sell at school, but Tsumugi mentions that she doesn't have time when she is eating the bentos that her mother prepares for her. The two girls go to lunch together and Manaka is happy to see that Tsumugi hasn't gotten tired of her food, as she says that she had missed eating Manaka's food. Manaka asks why Tsumugi doesn't go to Walnuts and is curious about her absence, to which Tsumugi says that she was "training" with Ria's help. Manaka thinks that the two got involved in something strange but Tsumugi tells her that thanks to Ria it happened. She says she wants to be a food critic, but since she has a long way to go to correctly express her emotions, she has been "training" by going to different restaurants to try the food and write about them, saying that in the future with her simple words she will be able to fill Walnuts. Manaka thinks it's a bit difficult, but Tsumugi shows her how her reviews have improved and even her blog has gained more followers. Tsumugi asks Manaka to wait for her to become a big critic and she thinks that she can't let another big restaurant go out of business. Tsumugi goes to a restaurant to try a coffee and is fascinated by its flavor, the owner asks her if she is a fan and she says not really, but she could tell that its flavor was similar to that of the store across the street and the owner surprised her. He praises her for her refined palate and invites her to try more varieties of coffee and food. Tsumugi uploads her reviews and realizes that they quickly began to receive good responses and even began to gain more followers. At Walnuts, Manaka begins to feel down, because even though everyone likes her food, she feels that she has not yet reached the level of her father's chef. Manaka decides to go out for air and runs into Tsumugi, who, seeing her downcast, offers her an onigiri that her mother prepared for her, saying that these always bring her joy from the bottom of her stomach. Manaka thinks that she would like all of her customers to be happy like Tsumugi but she regains her composure when Tsumugi asks her what's going on, but Manaka tells her that "the chef can't ask the diner for advice." Tsumugi thinks that she would like to know what's going on with Manaka and wonders what she should do to help her. At that moment she hears a voice that says that she can grant the wishes of her, Kyubey (who had managed to enter Kamihama again due to the fall of Alina Gray's barrier). A few days later at her home, Tsumugi uploads her review of Banbanzai (Tsuruno Yui's family restaurant), which she gives 3 out of 5 stars, although she liked the food she ordered and thought about giving the food 2.5 stars because the food was a bit simple, but she decided to give it 3 stars because of the warm personality of Tsuruno's father and the atmosphere of the restaurant. Once she finishes uploading her review, Kyubey talks about how dedicated Tsumugi is to her food critic life, but Tsumugi insists that Kyubey is the one who is never bored, as she has already told him since the day they met that she was not interested in having a wish granted. In a flashback is show that when Kyubey approached Tsumugi in Hokuyo Ward, Tsumugi tells Kyubey she isn't interested in having a wish granted because if she doesn't do the things she wants to complete on her own they are meaningless. Back in the present, Tsumugi insists to Kyubey that if she changes her mind about it, she will let him know and mentions how he will skip dinner and go to Walnuts for breakfast the next day while Kyubey leaves her house. The next day Tsumugi goes to Walnuts with Ria and they both eat Manaka's omelets, but while Tsumugi was eating and describing her food, her food runs out, so Ria offers her what's left of her food. However, Ria says that just by seeing Tsumugi eat makes her happy and that she manages to give a lot of happiness to her just by eating and enjoying food. Manaka, is surprised by Tsumugi's criticism and says that it is decent. Tsumugi asks Manaka if she can lift the ban she made on her reviews, but Manaka says it wasn't a ban at all. Tsumugi says that she wants to fill Walnuts with people, but Manaka says that she would prefer if only Tsumugi went there to enjoy her food. Tsumugi thanks her and leaves, while Ria notices that Manaka seems less upset about Tsumugi's actions than she did before. The next day Tsumugi eats her bento in the classroom, but her classmates ask her why she always seems to eat more than she usually does, but she says it's because she has to think too much, so her classmates kindly offer her part of their lunches to help her. Tsumugi says she finally has an idea, and in the afternoon she calls Ria and Manaka to her living room to tell them her idea. Tsumugi mentions that he feels that her positive reviews of Walnuts have not been enough to increase the number of customers as she expected, so she proposes that Manaka and her father offer promotions such as giving free toppings or discounts on omelettes, offering to put the promotions on her blog and social networks. Tsumugi even proposes using Ria, because she is a beautiful model, to promote Walnuts. Ria agrees to help and Manaka says that she will need her father's approval but she agrees. The next day the three girls organize "The Rice Omelette Festival" at Walnuts to attract customers. Tsumugi watches Manaka cook and notices how serious she is about cooking, admiring that she is already a great chef even though they are both the same age. Ria asks Tsumugi what's going on and she says that all she wants is to help Manaka and watch her cook. However, half an hour after they started, no customers arrive. Tsumugi wonders why people don't come and when she looks at her cell phone she realizes that, although the people who follow her were interested, it was difficult for most of them to go. to the Hokuyo district as this is one of the wealthy districts and furthest from the rest of the districts in Kamihama. Eventually several customers start arriving, but upon hearing that they are people who found out because of Ria's advertising, Tsumugi becomes sad and thinks that she is "not as strong" as Ria. Once the event is over and the last customer leaves, Manaka and Ria are happy, but they notice that Tsumugi is sad. Manaka asks what's going on and offers her a plate of rice omelet and feeds it to Tsumugi, who improves her mood. However, Tsumugi starts crying and runs out of Walnuts. Ria manages to catch up with Tsumugi and asks her why she ran away, but Tsumugi only complains that she couldn't run away because she didn't have that much energy due to all she was working on helping Manaka serve the customers. Tsumugi shares with Ria her disappointment that none of the customers were any of her followers and feels that unlike Ria she was unable to be of help to Manaka, saying that she is just an average middle student with no good qualities or anything unique. who spends her time eating all day. Ria tells her that it's not true and that she should be proud of herself, and tells her that she has a talent for giving food reviews, and ask if there is really anything wrong with her dream. Tsumugi says that it is true, but she believes that she is far from achieving her dream because she was not able to help Manaka. Ria says that average people will never be able to escape their destiny of being average, but she insists that Tsumugi is not like that because she realized the great potential she has to fulfill her dreams. Ria tells Tsumugi that she shouldn't let failures discourage her and that she would do everything she can to fulfill her dreams. Ria apologizes to Tsumugi for being so blunt, so she recommends that she cheers up and goes to her house before it gets dark while she heads back to Walnuts. Tsumugi thinks that Ria is right, so he says that he will make his dreams come true but before that he has to do something, so he calls Kyubey asking if he is still around and decides that he wants to make a contract with Kyubey, who having observed all. The next day, Manaka and Ria fight familiars in a witch barrier. Manaka is distracted because she thinks her food was at a level of 75 to 80 points, so she wonders why she lowered the quality of her taste so much, and she wanted to serve perfect food for Ria and Tsumugi. However Manaka becomes distracted and is attacked by a familiar, but she is saved from the attack by Tsumugi, who enters by surprise and proceeds to use her magic to "consume" the familiars' attacks. Ria and Manaka are surprised to see that this is Tsumugi's magic, but Manaka urges her to spit it out, but Tsumugi thinks that the familiar's attack has "an exhilarating taste" while Ria suspects that eating magical attacks seems to give Tsumugi more power and energy. Afterwards, the three girls manage to defeat the witch. Tsumugi is interested in the appearance of the witches, but before explaining how she became a magical girl her stomach rumbles out of hunger. Then, the three girls eat at Walnuts. Tsumugi comments on Manaka's food being delicious as always, but she says that she knows she can do better. Tsumugi mentions that, considering the ingredients of the food, she believes that the omelette would have been better, as instead of fermented french butter she thinks using a less cloying butter and combining it with sweet ketchup to highlight the ingredients would been better. Surprised, Ria says that it tastes good to her as always, but Manaka tells her that it is true, but Tsumugi's criticisms are also true and she feels that if Tsumugi as a customer could notice mistakes like that then she has failed as a chef. Tsumugi apologizes to Manaka and says that now she can't help but tell the truth of what she thinks about food as a result of the wish she made to Kyubey. Manaka proceeds to ask Tsumugi about her wish and when she asked for it, to which Tsumugi clarifies that it was just yesterday, after "The Rice Omelette Festival" at Walnuts. In a flashback it's shown that Tsumugi asked Kyubey a wish different than he expected, since instead of asking to be a better food critic or having making better reviews Tsumugi wish has: “I want to help Manaka... I want to continue eating her food. For that reason, I want to know what I can do to help her!”. Back in the present, Tsumugi says she realized that she wasn't completely honest saying what she thought, she was just trying to be kind and was not completely honest even though she really likes Manaka's and other people's food. So in order to help her, she had to be honest by giving the most objective criticism possible, only then could he continue eating Manaka's food, with both the good and the bad points in it. Manaka feels guilty for making Tsumugi go too far by becoming a magical girl for her food, but Tsumugi tells her that it was her decision and says that she herself had to change in order to be a good critic, so she doesn't feel bad at all. Manaka and Ria ask if she was already able to feel everything in detail then and if that is not the result of her wish, to which Tsumugi tells them that she always had a very sensitive tongue and is capable of noticing every ingredient used in all the foods she eats. Manaka is impressed and admits to feel some envy, because Tsumugi has a talent that any chef would want to possess while Ria flatters herself saying that she was the first to notice Tsumugi's inherent talent, although she did not know that she reached such capabilities. Manaka wonders why Tsumugi wasn't able to tell her her honest opinion on her food and how that would relate to her being able to continue eating it. A few days later, as Manaka finishes serving her last customers, Tsumugi helps Manaka close Walnuts. Tsumugi thanks Manaka for feeding her too and says that she will let her mother know that she already had dinner. Manaka isn't so sure if that counts as a diner, and says that all that was posible because her father let Tsumugi help thanks to her constructive critics of her food, and asks if she didn't just go eat the leftovers they had left, to which Tsumugi laughs saying it's true. Tsumugi proceeds to eat the leftovers and mentions how delicious they are, but when Manaka asks what else she thinks she says that it has "consommé taste" and that she feels that they used onions as an ingredient and they are different than usual plate. Manaka says that Tsumugi's sense of taste is very good as always and she just decided to change the recipe a little and Tsumugi was able to realize it. Tsumugi says it's delicious, but doesn't think it suits Manaka's cooking style, to which she thanks her for the advice. Likewise, Tsumugi wants to take the remains of the consommé and Manaka lets her. Tsumugi mentions that Manaka's dishes have started to get better and better, and she tells her that it is thanks to Tsumugi's constructive criticism that she is happy to finally be of help to Manaka. Manaka believes that Tsumugi did not change at all because of her desire, she is more honest but she is still herself, the girl who loves food and makes others smile when she eats. Tsumugi thinks that she was too hard on Manaka, but she tells her that as always her advice has become very helpful to her. Manaka says that just one or two rabbits are not necessary to improve, so she asks Tsumugi to continue eating her food so that she can become a better chef, to which Tsumugi excitedly agrees, thinking that she is happy to be able to eat the delicious food from Manaka every day. |
