Uwasa of the Friendship Ending Staircase is an Uwasa that appeared in Chapter 2 of the mobile game Magia Record. It later re-appeared in Episode 2 and 3 of the anime.

Official Translation: Have you heard? Has anyone told you? The Rule of Ending Friendships. If you don't know, you'll regret it. If you don't know, bad things will happen. If you take it back, you'll be called a liar! And then this scary monster kidnaps you… You'll be stuck cleaning the stairs forever! According to the Rumor circulating among the kids in Kamihama, if you fight a friend, one of you will disappear… How scary!

Many couples and friends put padlocks on bridges, capes, and observatories as a symbol of their bond. But what happens if you do the opposite and break it? The Friendship Breaking Padlock is there to destroy such bonds. It will swarm about and capture you, and that will be the end of you! According to the kids in Kamihama, it will lock you up in the Friendship Breaking Staircase! How horrible!

  • The content of Rumor and Uwasa has been significantly changed from the game. Here's the text that was changed (It's a fan translation)

Say, have you heard? The Rumor of the Friendship Breaking Staircase! It is a stairway that goes from the fourth floor to the roof, on the north side of the east wing of Kamihama City University Affiliated Secondary School! If you write your name on the sixth step and the name of the person you want to cut off the relation on the seventh step, that will be the certificate of Friendship Breaking. You'll be accepted to break off that relation through all eternity by the certificate. Just in case, conditionally, if by any chance you tries to make up after that, the one who apologized will be kidnapped by the chain monsters and trapped inside the Friendship Ending Staircase, doomed to clean its endless steps for eternity. It's a hot Rumor among the students!
