Summary

A masked Magical Girl who fights in the shadows for the English in the Hundred Years’ War. The youngest sister of three, her behavior is calm and calculated. She directs her battles from the sidelines rather than take center stage. Her mother is a noblewoman, whom she loves more than anyone.

Doppel Description

Capricieux, Minou's doppel

The Doppel of cruelty. Its form is a mischievous cat. The master of this emotion sets the stage of the battlefield like a conductor waving her baton. It may take the form of a cat, but the depths of its mischievous grin are unimaginably dark, and a fearsome, insanity-laden instinct hides within its furthest reaches. Its ninefold waving tails are each equipped with an implement of torture. Every time it waves its tails, the tails hunt and harm those who oppose it, and continue to do so until its victims can no longer move– much like how a cat simply plays with its prey, rather than hunting it.

Abilities

Minou is able to summon various instruments of torture as her weapons, such as a cat-o-nine tails whip and a branding iron.

Minou has demonstrated the ability to create portals, which she uses to travel long distances. She can also corrupt the soul gems of other magical girls.

In her Side Story is confirmed that due to a side effect of her wish, Minou is the only one capable of understanding Isabeau's ambiguous words after she turned into a witch and was reversed into her body by Lapin's wish.

• Her Doppel's name means "capricious" in French.
• Her Magia attack is French for "Cat o' Nine Tails", her weapon of choice.
• Her eye color was changed from green to yellow from her initial event debut to her release.
• Her Doppel holds 8 weapons on its tails, and in the clockwise order of how they're held they are:
  • Iron maiden ring: A circular collar device with inward and outward-facing spikes. This seems to be a miniaturized symbolic take on the Iron Maiden or the spiked restraint collar. While such devices weren't used in medieval Europe, spiked collars or restraints with spikes did exist, and were mostly used to humiliate or control prisoners.
  • Branding iron: Similar to the branding irons she summons, this device is a rod with a hot, circular end. Branding as a punishment was common to use against criminals or slaves at the time.
  • Pincers: A gripping tool with strong, claw-like ends designed to grasp and pull. Iron pincers or tongs were widely used for torture and execution in medieval Europe, where they were heated and used to tear flesh or extract nails.
  • Pear of anguish: A mechanical object with a bulbous body with a split and key-like mechanism. It is inserted into a victim's body, likely their mouth, and then expanded. This device wasn't used until around the 17th century.
    • Alternatively, what Minou's Doppel is holding could be a simple arrowhead dagger.
  • Bone saw: A stylized, toothed saw for cutting through bone. It has a rough, and sparkly texture, possibly referencing a sawfish-style weapon or serrated torture blade. Saws were commonly used for execution and post-mortem procedures at the time, but bone saws for torture were less common.
  • Multi-tailed whip: A weapon similar to the cat o' nine tails whip one she uses, which also has nine cords. Whips with multiple tails were used for corporal punishment in medieval Europe, but the exact “cat o’ nine tails” term came later with the British Navy in the 17th century. There’s additionally no strong evidence that a whip with exactly nine tails was standard.
  • Bodkin: A sharp spike on a handle used for impaling, or puncturing, and appearing similar to a present day skewer, or screwdriver. This tool, or ones similar to it, were very common for the time period and used for many trades, including torture.
  • Shears: Scissor-like cutting instruments with sharp blades, giving the impression of present-day iron cutters. They were common in everyday life, both for cloth and metal, as well as for torture procedures. This is the only tool which the Doppel holds with two of its tails.
