The Doppel of famine.
Its form is a dark cook.
The master of this Doppel is much more particular about food than most. It wants to feed on anything within reach, and it does not care whether it eats Magical Girls or Witches. It is a chef born of the desire to eat itself, a Doppel of gluttony that devours all and returns it to nothingness. It has several plates prepared on its table at all times. Should you find yourself at its table on the battlefield, be careful you are not part of the meal…

Side Story
| Kazumi's Side Story |
|---|
|
Kazumi shouts out an apology to Manaka Kurumi after she finishes eating her meal. Manaka asks her to keep her voice down as Kazumi explains that she only just remembered she lost her purse and has no way to pay for her meal. She had been wandering about, half-asleep with an empty stomach when she smelled the delicious food coming from the restaurant. She describes how delicious the food was to Manaka, who quickly begins beaming with pride and enthusiasm at her description of her cooking. Kazumi is even able to detect the dash of coffee that Manaka had added to the sauce for flavor. Manaka offers to lend her a phone to call a friend or family member for help, but Kazumi has no way of contacting her friends Kaoru and Umika. Kazumi recounts to Manaka how her and her friends were split up after fighting a particular tough Witch. But her hunger got the best of her and she ended up eating lunch at Walnut's instead of looking for her friends right away. She asks if Manaka will call the police on her for not paying, but Manaka is grateful for her honesty, as she "dined" but didn't "dash". Since she was so honest and praised the food so much, Manaka offers to put it on her tab and asks that she pay her back once she's able to. But Kazumi feels bad about leaving her like that, and while her friends are important, paying back Manaka was more important at this moment. She offers to wash dishes, sweep, clean, anything it takes to work off her debt. Manaka remembers her dad used to let students pay off their lunch tab by washing dishes and agrees to let Kazumi help out for about an hour to pay off her lunch bill. Kazumi washes dishes and busses tables for a while, though her mind starts to wander when she hears some customers talk about how delicious the rice omelet is. She also notices how warm and friendly the atmosphere and customers are and how hard Manaka works to make sure everyone enjoys their meal. Manaka is even ready with a vegetable juice for a customer who's really worn out from work. As the time goes by, Hinano Miyako enters the restaurant and asks for Manaka. She introduces herself and explains she's been having trouble coming up with experiments. Her friend Emiri Kisaki had suggested eating something delicious to cure her "writer's block" and tells her about Walnut's. Manaka isn't sure what she means by "cooking to inspire", but Kazumi remembers how her friend Umika would cure her writer's block and offers to cook a meal for Hinano. Manaka agrees so long as she gets to cook alongside Kazumi, but she has her doubts about the recipe that Kazumi wants to make. Still, she trusts her and together they serve a hot dog, noodle salad, and a slice of cake to Hinano. Kazumi says these foods are sure to inspire her and her experiments will be a "piece of cake" from now on. The two go back and forth over what to call her meal until Hinano eventually devours her meal. She's soon hit by a spark of inspiration and writes her ideas down on the back of her receipt. It seems this same meal did the trick for Umika too, and Kazumi was sure it would help Hinano. It wasn't the meal so much as the thought process while eating that helped. Manaka considers trying it out the next time she wants to come up with new recipes and thanks Kazumi for all her help. She urges her to go out and try to find her friends, and asks for their names just in case any of the customers know anything. Hinano overhears and recognizes Kaoru's name from when she overheard it earlier at the park. She writes the directions down for Kazumi who rushes off to find her friends. But when she got to the park, she wasn't able to find anyone. |
