About the music

The slowed down version was a mistake? Well, it makes sense, given that the "recap" in ep 10 had the original version, but in my opinion, it was fortunate mistake, and one worth keeping. Oh well. BrickBreak 14:38, 26 April 2011 (UTC)

It was quite climatic, yeah. But the 44100/48000 speed ratio, the exact same thing with other BGMs, and the fact that it was corrected in webcast and AT-X versions seem to suggest it was a production error. We'll see what's on the BD. --KFYatek 14:52, 26 April 2011 (UTC)
I laid my hands on some BDrip today, and the pitch of the song is like in the AT-X version, ie. like on the single. I think the visual comparison is quite exhaustive already, I'll compare the audio tracks tomorrow, probably. I hope to do the comparisons of ep2-4 AT-X versions tomorrow, too. --KFYatek 19:54, 27 April 2011 (UTC)

How differences are spotted

It's funny to watch an episode this way :D --KFYatek 17:59, 26 April 2011 (UTC)

(Polish everywhere... I only know one word of it, and it's a pretty nasty one xD)
What media player is that? Never seen it before. BrickBreak 18:13, 26 April 2011 (UTC)
SMPlayer, it's written in the titlebar :) It's a pretty good port of MPlayer. I used it before I carelessly broke Windows (kept with the standard MPlayer distribution on Linux on my part) --Homerun-chan 19:07, 26 April 2011 (UTC)

Coming from the IRC: I think this link might interrest you. --Homerun-chan 19:07, 26 April 2011 (UTC)

@BrickBreak: SMPlayer, as seen on the title bars. It's a GUI for MPlayer, and it's a pretty popular solution for Linux (and maybe Mac, I don't know, I know very little about that platform). Not so much for Windows, because MPC is generally better there. (S)MPlayer is still popular among some folks who prefer to have a stand-alone solution and not "pollute" the system with unnecessary DirectShow codecs.
About Polish and its nasty words... Well, you know, not so long ago I was walking through a street and some foreigners were talking behind me... and they were talking about Polish words they learned... Guess which words... :/ Kind of shameful for my nation that it's too easy to learn those... ;]
@Homerun-chan: Thanks very much for the link! I was going to investigate the Blu-ray versions myself once some rips are out, but it's great to have some reference. --KFYatek 19:11, 26 April 2011 (UTC)
Don't worry about that, it happens with every language. I heard that in Portuguese as well. But I can say I played Lineage II with a Greek clan for a year and they themselves told me "Greek is easy( pfft, yeah right), you only need to know one word: Malakas (asshole/wanker)"
As for media players, I've surrendered myself to Media Player Classic. The only bother is that I can't take screenshots with it: for some reason, they all turn black when I close the player, I have to use WMP for that. Then again, since WMP is an idiot with .mkv's, I don't have to worry about subs getting in the way.
About the Blu-Ray version... I wasn't expecting that many changes, just mostly cleaning up stuff. But the overhaul they gave Mami's room... Ionno, the atmosphere doesn't suit her. BrickBreak 19:58, 26 April 2011 (UTC)

You can use these [1][2][3][4][5][6][7][8][9]

I just finished comparing ep4 MBS and AT-X raws. Before I'll clean up my rough notes and post it on the page, I have to say - the number of differences spotted is HUGE, on a similar level to ep1/2 TV-vs-BD differences. I wonder if they'll change even more for the BD release... Eh, I'll have to do plenty of screencaps, too... --KFYatek 18:18, 28 April 2011 (UTC)

General organization

Maybe in addition to this page, don't you think we should create a section on every episode's page with the changes for this episode across broadcasts? I think people might be more inclined to reading the changes bit by bit than having a long page to read -- at least the people who aren't looking for that especially. --Homerun-chan 19:23, 26 April 2011 (UTC)

Then there's no point for having a stand-alone page. As you see, lists of changes per episode may turn out pretty lenghty - well, the episode pages are already lenghty, so maybe you're right. I don't know. But I'm either for this page as it is only, or for only sections on episode pages only.
I was also thinking about sectioning this page differently, ie.: 1. Webcast revisions, 1.1. Ep1, 1.2. Ep2, ...; 2. AT-X Revisions, 1.1 Ep1, 1.2 Ep2, ...; 3. BD revisions, 3.1. Ep1, 3.2 Ep2, ... What do you think?
It'd be hard to convey irregularities like ep10 (MBS -> webcast -> TBS, with changes every time), though. --KFYatek 20:42, 26 April 2011 (UTC)
Actually I like this layout better. Having one section per episode and then one sub-section per medium is a good and "easy" way to find out changes that have been made over time (if you order your subsections chronologically). The only thing I'd add is a few more comparative screenshots between versions. It can make the page look more appealing, and is sometimes faster for comparisons than a descriptive list (we have a saying like that in French, "a rough sketch is worth more than a long talk". In this case, there would be both: the text-version list with all the differences, and some screencaps as illustrations).
Regarding the episodes' pages, the best thing to do then is probably something like the runes: create a new section "Differences between broadcasts", which links to the right section here? --Homerun-chan 20:59, 26 April 2011 (UTC)
Yes, it sounds OK. I'd like to have more comparative screenshots, too, but the thing is that there can be literally plenty of them. Like the ones Mutopis has uploaded for eps 1-2 - it's 9 pictures about 2000px in height! I had a hard time positioning those screenshots there are here. An alternative would be to put a gallery under every revision and post all the comparison images there, but I somehow not entirely like this idea. But I already like it better than yesterday, so it'll probably settle. --KFYatek 09:36, 27 April 2011 (UTC)
The current version looks better, although I'd make all thumbnails the same width if I were you. Anyway, there needn't be a comparative screenshot for every difference either, at least not here (if we really want to, we can still make a subpage with a comparative chart per episode, or link to external sites or something). The idea was just to have some of the most significant changes posted here and there to add cheerfulness to the page -- and Mutopis's charts go in that direction, so all is good :) --Homerun-chan 15:19, 27 April 2011 (UTC)
I changed it to galleries under every revision for now - what do you think? --KFYatek 15:37, 27 April 2011 (UTC)

OK, so I moved the page to the main namespace and linked it on Facts and Observations, since I think it's quite complete as for the current state of the series (ep5 airs on AT-X one hour from now, though...). I'm not sure about formatting, though. The galleries are nice for organization and holding large amounts of screenshot comparisons, but are less attractive than floating thumbnails... And I'm not sure whether the OP revision history should be there, or should I move the analysis to Connect (or even somewhere entirely else?). What do you think? --KFYatek 13:25, 30 April 2011 (UTC)

I prefer thumbs, but that's just me. Plus, on episodes with a large number of revisions, the height of the stacked thumbs is surely more than the text, so it's probably best like this.
Keep the OP comparisons here, so move them to a new page, but not to Connect, IMO it's better to keep it about the music, rather than the OP itself. BrickBreak 14:44, 30 April 2011 (UTC)

Movie Comparisons

How should we incorporate the compilation movies with this page? Here're the threads from comparison-anon thus far:

- Prima 20:02, 13 September 2013 (UTC)

I suggest making a new section for each episode detailing the movie changes and following the format already used for the Blu-Ray version. --Knon 04:04, 14 September 2013 (UTC)

Magia Record

Like the original series, the Magia Record anime adaptation has many differences between the original broadcast and the later Blu-Ray releases, including different sound effects, enhanced visuals, and even shots that were entirely missing from the original broadcast. For the sake of this wiki, and those like myself that are unable to purchase or torrent the Blu-Ray release, I think a similar page for Magia Record should be made by someone with access to the Blu-Rays. --Garr9988 (talk) 01:30, 25 September 2021 (UTC)

I agree. N. Harmonik (talk) 02:02, 25 September 2021 (UTC)

I found some comparison posts in Twitter. They only cover the visual parts, but it should be good enough to get the page started https://twitter.com/search?q=%E3%83%9E%E3%82%AE%E3%82%A2%E3%83%AC%E3%82%B3%E3%83%BC%E3%83%89%20(from%3Ag6xa3awstGCEljS)&src=typed_query --AlsoArei (talk) 05:47, 25 September 2021 (UTC)
