Mokyu vs Mokyui
I'm no expert at Japanese, but shouldn't「モキューイ」be romanized as "Mokyuui", instead of "Mokyuu"?

Characters with a Single Name
I added it to that category because all the other character pages in that category refer back to Lil' Kyuubey as the first playable character with a single name. ~ Celtic Minstrel (talk) 00:51, 7 September 2025 (UTC)
- I mean Mokyu is a character to have a single name, but it creates too much trouble to put them in the category. By that logic Kyubey, Juubey and AQ should be there too, hell maybe even most Witches, which shouldn't be the case since theyre not missing a first/family name. To be fair you could keep the trivia, since unlike Witches and other Incubators Mokyu has an unit, just add a note that they can't have 'more than one name'. - TheresaFrog421 (talk) 01:22, 7 September 2025 (UTC)
- You could probably argue all the incubators should be in the category if Lil' Kyubey is, yeah. Though, given that the category (at least currently) is limited to actual player characters, it doesn't seem to odd to exclude them either. Regardless of that concern, I would never consider adding witches to the category – they're not really characters per se. ~ Celtic Minstrel (talk) 03:17, 7 September 2025 (UTC)
- I just believe it should be limited to human characters, where the Single Name actually means something, they're missing their first or last name. Incubators have a single name, but not nearly for the same reasons, thats why I used Witches as another example, unlike lets say Kuroe, their name isn't missing a thing. - TheresaFrog421 (talk) 13:00, 7 September 2025 (UTC)
- I'm not sure what you mean by Kuroe not missing a thing, but in general, it's not that they're "missing" a first or last name (though, I prefer the terms "given name" and either "surname" or "family name", since that makes no assumption about the order). They simply have only one name. The exact reason for this differs from character to character.
- Kuroe is presumed to have two names, but one of them is unknown.
- Chizuru does have two names, technically, but has renounced her surname.
- Toyo may possibly have a given name but no surname, like the Japanese imperial family. (Though, I think it's actually questionable to treat her as a member of the imperial family – it's probably more accurate to consider her as belonging to an earlier dynasty. But it's not like the Japanese imperial family are unique about having no surname; back then, lots of people had no surname.)
- Olga and Gunhild could be argued to also fit that description (depending on whether you count a patronymic as a surname).
- Heruka probably also fits that description.
- Amaryllis's name is an alias, so there's no given name or surname, just the alias. She technically has a Roman tripartite name (which doesn't actually divide into "given name" and "surname" – it's praenomen aka personal name, nomen gentilicium aka family name, and cognomen aka nickname), but she doesn't use it.
- The two Kuros are probably nicknames; they are presumed to have a given name and a surname, but those names are unknown.
- In general, the practice of having two (or more) names is far from universal, and you can find people even in modern times who just have a single name (the Japanese imperial family being a notable example). So I chose the name of the category so that the reason doesn't matter.
- But, if that's the case, I don't really understand why being an incubator would disqualify them from being in the category? Incubators seemingly always have a single name by convention. As you said, it would make sense to just add all the incubators to the category, for exactly that reason.

- My reason for disqualifying Incubators are all those examples, the humans that you listed out have a specific reason for not having their family names, like hiding it, not using it, being born specifically without it or it just being unknown to us. And that's exactly what the Incubators dont have... reasons, theyre named like that because the creators wanted to, so I feel like adding them to the category makes the characters' reasons for not having/using a family name seem unrelevant to the category. (Also I didnt mean Kuroe isnt missing a thing, I meant that the Incubators arent missing a part of their name, unlike Kuroe T_T). - TheresaFrog421 (talk) 13:36, 7 September 2025 (UTC)

- Uhhh… but isn't that a reason in and of itself? ~ Celtic Minstrel (talk) 17:35, 7 September 2025 (UTC)
- Well yeah T_T, that's the Incubator's naming convention like you said, the category itself exists to differentiate characters that have a single name, so why put creatures there that have that by default. To be honest it doesn't really matter if they're there or not, I just don't think they should be there because of how the category seems like its supposed to be this special thing about certain characters, when its not relevant at all for Incubators. - TheresaFrog421 (talk) 17:37, 8 September 2025 (UTC)
