User talk:0x99/Archive 1
Are you alright? Prima 00:40, 14 March 2011 (UTC)
- Me and Homerun-chan are worried about you, too - we've already talked about that, see MediaWiki talk:Common.css... I hope your absence is nothing serious... And thank you for your awesome work making and maintaining this wiki! --KFYatek 02:16, 14 March 2011 (UTC)
- I'm fine, just got called for urgent work recently. Thanks for worrying. --0x99 06:09, 15 March 2011 (UTC)
New version of Runic font
User:FontAnon made a new version of the runic font, including the Q rune. It'd be nice if you could update the CSS-embedded font on the server, too. Thanks in a advance :) --KFYatek 22:07, 22 April 2011 (UTC)
- Done. --0x99 22:45, 5 May 2011 (UTC)
Hai
Hai!
Ima fellow wiki admin :) To be honest im in love with ur CSS the way it displays the logo on the upper part is amazing. I was hoping you can guide me and tell me where or how can I get that skin. I think its called magica skin. I greatly appreciate any help you can give me
Thnks alot :)
--Framadi 09:28, 20 June 2011 (UTC)
- Magica skin is just an extension over MediaWiki's default Vector skin. There's nothing beyond the overrides found it magica/main.css file. Top left logo is just a transparent PNG with actual logo in the header image. --0x99 09:33, 20 June 2011 (UTC)
Hai Ty so much for ur help :) Ahm im afraid I am a little bit nobish :( so I was hoping :( if u can point out me out to the right direction on how to "override" the vector skin? or install the skin.
Thank you so much. I appreciate any help you ca give me :)
Cheers!
Countdown
There used to be this countdown box when episodes were airing and I really loved it and wanted a countdown myself. I was wondering, how did you install the countdown extension? I seem to be unable to get it added. I created a Coundown.php files with the code from the Countdown page and added the file to the extention folder, and added an require_once line to LocalSettings.php, but that does not seem to work out. It would be absolutely great if you could help me out with it. 90.136.128.115 20:55, 20 June 2011 (UTC)
- Inside Countdown.php, on a line that wrote:
function renderCountdown($input, $argv, &$parser) {
change it tofunction renderCountdown($input, $argv, $parser) {
. --0x99 21:05, 20 June 2011 (UTC)- Thanks a lot! Will hopefully remember next time I will look up what php version the webhoster has... 90.136.128.115 21:49, 20 June 2011 (UTC)
Translations
I talked to symbv re: our current project with scans and he expressed interest in seeing them and helping out with translations. Seems like anytime would be good, he's fairly fast in getting translations out. --randomanon 04:44, 23 June 2011 (UTC)
- That's cool, though I've been busy at work this week; the scanning pace would be slower than I originally expected. --0x99 05:07, 23 June 2011 (UTC)
- Just checking in to see if there's any possibility of having Otona Anime Volume 21 or 20 scanned? Or anything production-related we don't have translated yet? --randomanon 03:27, 23 July 2011 (UTC)
- Any prospect of getting more scans? We don't need Otona Anime. I will be acquiring those. --randomanon 03:22, 24 September 2011 (UTC)
- Will start scanning starting Monday in release order. Any magazine scan you want it first? Sorry for the long delay, though, was very busy with my project (and will probably be busy again in the next few weeks...) --0x99 11:14, 24 September 2011 (UTC)
- Nothing in particular, whatever you can do is good. Thanks. Also, I noticed there's a 2MB size limit on upload files. This is a problem for me since most high quality scans are larger than 2MB. Is there anything that can be done about that? --randomanon 14:15, 24 September 2011 (UTC)
- Bumped to 20MB. --0x99 14:35, 24 September 2011 (UTC)
- Thanks! --randomanon 14:54, 24 September 2011 (UTC)

Namespace
Hello. I was wondering: shouldn't we create a namespace for all the runes translations? At the moment, the pages are just named "Runes:Episode x", which is apparently considered plain text, and not considered as namespace + page name (and I do not know how to make one). --Homerun-chan 11:05, 27 June 2011 (UTC)
WPC
Hey, how's walpurgischan going?
Just saying, on Wednesday it'll be 6 months since ep1 premiered. Would be classy if we had "something" to mark that day :) --Homerun-chan 12:38, 2 July 2011 (UTC)
- Oh wow, that's right. OK my contribution will be to get the docs page ready by then with what we have, plus any new scans if you have the time, 0x99. This could be a nice addition to whatever cool, celebratory thing you all decide on doing. Also, with Aniplex licensing Madoka to the U.S., I expect we'll start seeing more visitors to the wiki at some point. Just something to think about if we have any long-term plans. --randomanon 13:46, 2 July 2011 (UTC)
- Actually, I don't think we have that much long-term projects, except that whole Documents thingy (and walpurgischan if that one's still holding, but it's not directly related to the wiki) --Homerun-chan 22:04, 2 July 2011 (UTC)
- Sorry, getting way too busy with work lately (few weeks before project launch); will try to get it done before Wed. --0x99 08:57, 3 July 2011 (UTC)
- Once again, if you want help with the coding, feel free to ask :) --Homerun-chan 16:54, 3 July 2011 (UTC)
- PS: Nice, the Madoka-related captcha for non-logged users :) --Homerun-chan 16:54, 3 July 2011 (UTC)
CloudFlare errors
Recently, I guess after you installed CloudFlare, I've been running into HTTP 502 or 503 errors with CloudFlare footer to them. They don't happen too often, but eg. today when I navigated to the wiki, I got an error and it showed up only after refreshing... It wasn't happening before, so you may want to look into it. --kFYatek 19:14, 7 February 2012 (UTC)
- Thanks for reporting. I've turned off few stuff that might be the cause of this problem, please ping me if this happens again (either here or via email). I'll turn off CloudFlare if the problem persists. --0x99 23:35, 7 February 2012 (UTC)
- OK, I'm seeing it now. Will ask CloudFlare to inspect into this. I've disabled everything except CDN for the time being; let's see if the problem still persists (ping me if it does) --0x99 00:31, 8 February 2012 (UTC)
Caching
I have no idea what may be the reason for this, but I uploaded an updated version of File:Kyouko Sakura Place-in Design.jpg - 2 hours have since passed, but the updated version hasn't showed up. I think it's way too long to be normal. --kFYatek 18:10, 21 February 2012 (UTC)
- CloudFlare caching settings was a bit too aggressive; it was set to 5 days previously, I've changed it to 2 hours now (minimum caching limit). In a long run it might make more sense to apply timestamp to the file which would allow the file to be updated instantly (I'm not sure if MediaWiki has any extension to do that though, may need to write my own) --0x99 19:35, 21 February 2012 (UTC)
- Image upload should be instantaneous now. --0x99 10:32, 26 February 2012 (UTC)
Momo Sakura
Do we have confirmation that Mami Shirata voiced Momo Sakura in the Drama CD, Farewell Story as well? It was rumored/suspected that was Chiwa Saitou... --Mutopis 12:44, 3 April 2012 (UTC)
- Is seiyuu's own official website is not enough of a confirmation? Here's two credits from Madopo I've found:
- 杏子の父 銀河万丈
- 杏子の母 井上喜久子
- 杏子の妹 設楽麻美
- I didn't check the ending credit myself, though. --0x99 14:29, 3 April 2012 (UTC)
- Kyoko's mother isn't on the list. In fact, she didn't have a single word to say in the game. --Yorkwoo 15:25, 3 April 2012 (UTC)
Runes.ttf
I just found a free tool which can change the ttf's embeddable flag so IE9 can render it, update the ttf if you think it's better to allow it shows in IE9. --AkitaNeru 13:01, 19 April 2012 (UTC)
- Thanks for the tip, I've patched and updated the font but can't really check if it's working (don't have access to IE). It probably need few more hours for cache to get updated so if you don't see the embedded runes in IE9, please feel free to ping me again. --0x99 14:04, 19 April 2012 (UTC)

- I'm sorry to tell you this, but I'm afraid you were doing it wrong... According to IEBlog along with the tool's help message, you might want to set the value to 0 in order to show it in IE9.
- Your original runesmusical.ttf had the value set to 0, so I can see it rendering perfectly in IE9 without any changing, now both the musical & the regular font won't show in IE9.
- After trying to change the value to 0, the MD5 hash of runesmusical.ttf also return to 743bc26c29f6d495ee534c816cade05a, and for runes.ttf it became 82b225cee251dadf30f1c8723b803f19.
- My English skill is not good enough for explaning this, hope you can understand what I'm trying to tell. Anyway, I feel happy to know you are glad to patch the font.
- I tested the fonts I've patched, they work perfectly when I use IE9 to view my local test site. --AkitaNeru 09:52, 25 April 2012 (UTC)

Gekidan Gallery
Hey 0x99. I was wondering if you ever intend to upload the remainig images from the Inukare Gallery from Portable. So far on the wiki, we have design art images of Quitterie, interior shots of Gretchen, and Homulilly. Would you be willing to upload any remaining images form the Gallery? SPDUDE48 10:11, 25 April 2012 (UTC)
- I want to try avoiding uploading duplicates, can you make a list of what's already uploaded and I'll upload the rest? ---0x99 11:05, 25 April 2012 (UTC)
- Here's what's already been uploaded:
- http://wiki.puella-magi.net/File:Quitterie_comparison.png (Needs to be in HD)
- http://wiki.puella-magi.net/File:Witch_of_Salvation_Center.png
- http://wiki.puella-magi.net/File:Interior_of_the_witch_of_salvation.png
- http://wiki.puella-magi.net/File:PSP_Inu_Curry_Art_Gallery.jpg (Higher-quality image of Candeloro needed)
Other than that, you should be able to put up everything else in the Gallery SPDUDE48 11:56, 25 April 2012 (UTC)
- OK thanks, I'll update the rest once I got back. --0x99 12:04, 25 April 2012 (UTC)

- We should probably fix up the Witch cards SPDUDE48 17:06, 25 April 2012 (UTC)

- I don't think I'll tear the whole thing down and scan, though. What information in particular do you want? There's strategy guide (that I probably won't scan [too many pages, copyright, etc.]), events CG (mostly uploaded). Only the interview with developer team at the end (4 pages) that seems to be interesting. --0x99 17:52, 27 April 2012 (UTC)

Recent attacks
So, there were some dumbasses erasing content on the wiki and now we are forced to do some lock ups. When did that sudden wave of hatred and trolling came upon us? --Derp101(2) 04:22, 30 April 2012 (UTC)
- No idea, he's probably a purist fan than troll. Either way, I think we might want to separate Adult Only fan-made stuff into another page, which may or may not solve this vandalization in a long run. It doesn't seems like this guy want to discuss about any possibility of doing so, though. --0x99 14:11, 30 May 2012 (UTC)

Spam accounts
The wiki is getting hit with a wave of new accounts today (January 17, 2013). They're making auto-generated user descriptions with spam links at the end. Anything we can do about it? Time to change the account creation procedures? Prima 14:29, 17 January 2013 (UTC)
So far we have:
- Looks like someone figured out the CAPTCHA answers. I've changed the CAPTCHA. Let's see if this stops. --0x99
- You guys responded pretty quick. Good job. - Bird on a Tree 17:16, 17 January 2013 (UTC)
They're back! How are they getting all these CAPTCHA answers? Is the spammer a Madoka fan?
And probably rest of the accounts from March 7th. - Prima 09:11, 10 March 2013 (UTC)
- Ouch. Looks like changing CAPTCHA is no longer effective. I've changed the permission to only allow active user to edit/create page/upload. Let's see if this whole spamming issue will improve... --0x99 15:28, 10 March 2013 (UTC)
- On a completely unrelated note, what's the possibility of adding a new board on walpurgischan for Madoka doujins? - Prima 17:25, 10 March 2013 (UTC)

2ch Madoka archiver stopped working
Not the biggest issue since there're other archives out there, but your archiver had stopped working since 2013/05/29 (Thread #3748). It'd be nice to have it back before Rebellion for maximum spoiler. - Prima 03:39, 11 August 2013 (UTC)
Sidebar updates
I think only admins can edit the sidebar. When you have time, can you add Wraith Arc to the Manga section? -Prima 20:56, 13 June 2015 (UTC)
Adding to this, could you also correct "Taruto" to "Tart"? And the links need to be fixed, as they link to redirects now instead of the proper pages. Also, perhaps a rehaul in general is needed -- for example, I don't think the links for characters and products should be under "Anime". Maybe give Madoka Magica content its own section, another for spin-offs, a category for merchandise with the links for products, merchandise, magazines, and other media? Although I wouldn't know where to fit the characters link in this hypothetical design. Sevv 00:51, 14 June 2015 (UTC)
