Kanae Yukino arrives at the Mikazuki Villa and finds a letter addressed to Yachiyo's grandmother, so she decides to enter the Village to give her the letter. Yachiyo's grandmother greets Kanae, but informs her that Yachiyo is missing and she will have to wait. Yachiyo's Grandma asks Kanae if Yachiyo "gave her that", but Kanae doesn't know what she's talking about. Yachiyo's grandmother tells her that she is talking about her student ID, since Kanae forgot it the last time she was at Mikazuki Villa and Kanae says that Yachiyo did give it to her. Yachiyo's grandmother apologizes for being nosy, but Kanae says it doesn't bother her and also admits to being nosy too, saying that she found a letter for her and went to deliver it to her, but Yachiyo's grandmother thanks her for bringing her the mail. Yachiyo's grandmother proceeds to offer Kanae tea, but she offers to make it at her place and is embarrassed when Yachiyo's grandmother says that the day has come to try tea made by Kanae. Yachiyo's grandmother is happy, because seeing Kanae reminds her of Yachiyo and she feels like she is seeing her grow up again, saying that she felt the same when Yachiyo made tea for her. Kanae is surprised that Yachiyo's grandmother remembers something like that, and the old woman reveals that she also remembers that the first dish Yachiyo made her was miso soup and her first gift was a ticket for a shoulder massage. Yachiyo's grandmother remembers how it was when she became friends with Mifuyu, who began to go to Mikazuki Village and how the two began to organize birthday parties for her every year, remembering that the first time was when they were both in elementary school... Mifuyu is surprised by this and Yachiyo says that Mifuyu only thinks like a wealthy lady, so the two end up arguing. Mifuyu asks Yachiyo if she has any idea about anything, so Yachiyo says that her grandmother cooks for all the students who live in Mikazuki Village, so she thinks they could buy her a new set of kitchen items, but Mifuyu isn't sorry. like something special. Mifuyu suggests buying a stuffed sheep, like one she saw in front of a store near the train station, but Yachiyo thinks it's something Mifuyu wants for herself. The store owner approaches the girls and asks them if they are fighting, but the two explain to her that they are thinking about a gift for Yachiyo's grandmother. Mifuyu asks if the owner can think of a good gift. However, the owner does not know that Mrs. Nanami likes her, suggesting that she think about the things that Yachiyo's grandmother likes. Yachiyo thinks that her grandmother likes her photos because she always sees her photo album. The girls thank the owner and she says that in exchange they can buy her soft drinks from her store... Three days before her birthday, Mifuyu and Yachiyo had already bought the gift and prepared to make a homemade cake for Grandma's birthday while she and the other students were not there. Mifuyu arrives at the Villa and is surprised to "see the cake" but Yachiyo tells her that it is just the dough and they are not finished yet... However, the dish did not end up turning out as expected and the cake looked different than how it came out. the cake in her cooking magazine. Yachiyo is surprised to see that her grandmother brings a bouquet and Yachiyo's grandmother reveals that it is a birthday gift from the neighborhood association, who gave her a surprise birthday party because her birthday is close to her. . Mifuyu starts to cry while Yachiyo feels bad and she starts to cry too, as the two admit that they had planned something but it doesn't seem to be that good of a celebration. One of the college students consoles them by saying that they can have more celebrations while another of the girls says that they can have a birthday dinner. Yachiyo's grandmother felt bad because she felt that she had ruined Yachiyo and Mifuyu's plans, so she said that since her birthday was 3 days away she would like a dinner and asks if the girls would like to help them, so The two girls agree. Yachiyo's grandmother wonders what kind of cake she should buy, but they tell her that it is not necessary, so they ask the grandmother to leave the dinner to them and she only worries about enjoying her party. Mifuyu thinks that she will make Yachiyo's grandmother happy no matter what. Back in the present, Kanae is surprised that Mifuyu was a crybaby, and that Yachiyo was very childish too. Yachiyo's grandmother says it happened many years ago and they have both grown up. Yachiyo's grandmother mentions how Yachiyo and Mifuyu don't like to remember that, but for Yachiyo's grandmother it is a cherished memory. It wouldn't be painful for Kanae and she is glad that Yachiyo's grandmother told her about it. Kanae says that the Yachiyo and Mifuyu she knows are very diligent and selfless, to which Yachiyo's grandmother agrees by saying that they are both very hardworking, and Kanae replies that when she is next to her two friends she feels braver. . Yachiyo's grandmother tells Kanae that there used to be a girl who said the same thing. Yachiyo's grandmother tells Kanae that Yachiyo and Mifuyu used to be pampered by the college students who lived in Mikazuki Village, especially one girl who helped them with their studies and gave them more things than the others. Yachiyo's grandmother mentions that that girl ended up distancing herself from both of them, so Yachiyo and Mifuyu tried to fix whatever happened between them. In a flashback it is shown that Yachiyo told her onee-chan that dinner that day is shredded chicken and cucumber with plum, but Yachiyo notices the girl's cold response and asks her if something is wrong, but the girl replies that no, and she accepts the food when Yachiyo's grandmother tells her that it was Yachiyo who made it. The girl says that Yachiyo is growing every day while Yachiyo insists that she is no longer a little girl. The girl likes Yachiyo's food and Yachiyo asks if it's because of the sour and refreshing taste of it, but the girl doesn't give it that much importance. Yachiyo says that she and Mifuyu think something is wrong with her, so Yachiyo wanted to make her her favorite dish to cheer her up. The girl thanks her, hugging Yachiyo as she says that he loves her, but the girl says that she has decided to snap out of her daze. Yachiyo wants to do something to help her, but the girl says that Yachiyo's feelings really make her happy. Yachiyo asks her onee-chan what's going on with her, and the girl says that she met a boy who she feels means a lot to her, which is why she's been very distracted and somewhat distant. Yachiyo gets emotional and says that she will support her onee-chan if she has fallen in love with that boy, so she offers to help her. A few days later, Yachiyo and Mifuyu met at the Tomorrow candy store, hoping that her onee-chan would do well on her date. Mifuyu thinks they should talk about food, so Yachiyo says that Mifuyu is probably thinking about eating cotton candy again, but Mifuyu replies that she actually craved a parfait with fruit and mascarpone. Yachiyo returns to Mikazuki Village in the afternoon and Grandma asks about Mifuyu, to which Yachiyo tells her that he is returning to her extra-curricular classes. Yachiyo's grandmother thinks it's a shame because she had prepared food, but Yachiyo offers to eat the food. At that moment, Yachiyo notices that her onee-chan has not returned from her date and wonders where she is, but her grandmother says that the girl has not sent messages that she would be back soon. Night eventually comes, and both Yachiyo and her grandmother worry about the girl, who finally appears. Yachiyo asks what happened and the girl says that her date stood her up, because she was waiting for hours and she didn't arrive. Yachiyo's grandmother asks the girl why she was still there and didn't send them a message, but Yachiyo starts to cry saying that it's her fault because he doesn't know anything about love and he wanted to help her onee-chan without knowing anything, and apologizes.
